  1. Damn Pete, I'm sorry. I voted for you guys and were really pulling for you.
  2. I don't believe this song is even on their CD.
  3. American Angel - Archives Arch Rival - In The Face Of Danger Dokken - Hell To Pay Dokken - Lightning Strikes Again Joe Perry - Once A Rocker Always A Rocker Lita Ford - Dancin' On The Edge (Mercury 1st Press)
  4. Wow, my favorite Dokken CD ever. So I guess this would make it my favorite Dokken track as well. I had to go with The Hunter. My absolute all time favorite Dokken track. I wore out a few of these cassettes back in the day. However, my favorite all time guitar solo from Dokken is on the track Jaded Heart. An absolute killer release.
  5. This turned out to be a boot, the seller refunded my cash...arrrrgh. Who was the seller? retrometalinc...he refunded my money with no questions asked so now I need to send the boot back to him so he can find another sucker to sell it to. You have to be very careful buying that CD, it was highly booted.
  6. I used to be able to find stuff like this all the time like 7-10 years ago, but not so much anymore.
  7. Nice grab that DOA and Nelson is a cool cat! You are right, Nelson is a great guy to trade with!
  8. The Brave - Battle Cries Dead On Arrival - Alive And Kickin' Flesh - S/T Heavy Pettin - Rock Ain't Dead (original Polydor West Germany Pressing) Last Adam - Tools For The Harvest Metallica - Death Magnetic Smartass - Attitude, Depression, Bourbon, And Da' Backbeat! Sword - Metalized Sword - Sweet Dreams Treat - S/T Jap Import (1992 pressing with Mats Leven on vocals) White Widow - Bustin' Out
  9. It should be the other way around. Why would anyone want to invest extra money into silverpressed releases if their cdrs sell good? Because peolpe got cd-r's when they thought they were getting silver presed? In an ideal world - absolutely! I'm all with you on this. In reality, though, you either re-press immediately and make your fans happy, or keep selling the cdrs... Backed and that's why I haven't ordered any of the cdrs. If I wanted cdrs I'd burn my own. If they do reissue these silver pressed cds then I'll place an order. I'd pick up the Cry In The Night CD regardless since its never been available on CD in any format before just for the sound quality alone. Beats listening to a crappy cassette rip.
  10. Believe me, I'm NOT on the side of the seller, but I think Freddy's point is if there wasn't any crime in the world, then there wouldn't be any victims, very noble stand, but very unrealistic. I was just agreeing with the idea. But in the end when you see one of these boots sell for a good chuck of change, you can safely assume they were not in it just for the music.
  11. This one too: http://cgi.ebay.com/Hittman-Rare-Metal_W0Q...1QQcmdZViewItem I have an original pressing of this Hittman disc and it doesn't have the band's name in huge red letters at the top of the front. The artwork goes all the way to all four corners. to this guy. I don't know who to feel sorry for the most, the crapbag seller or the suckers who bid on them? If it weren't for the suckers, there'd be no crapbags. So I'd say it's a draw. Point taken.

  13. Yeah, anyone browsing his auctions and coming across CDs like these two will know right away they are boots, the covers are completely different than the original pressings and anyone that half way pays attention to legit releases will know these are boots, it always amazes me how people have the balls to try to pull this off: http://cgi.ebay.com/Roxxi-Drive-it-to-Ya-H...mdZViewItem?has http://cgi.ebay.com/Lixx-Array-Rare-Hair-M...id=p3911.c0.m14

  18. Unfortunately I'm too lazy to try to hide it since my wife does the finances in my house. My motto is it is easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission She knows every dime I spend.
  19. Arazmo - Notice To Appear Blackboard Jungle - Welcome To The Blackboard Jungle Johnny Lima - Shine On Little Rebel - Full Rebel Jacket Motley Crue - SOLA Pretty Vacant - Walkin' On A Tilt Quade - Rock In Motion Tx Barryt - X's Voyeur - Spank Or Be Spanked Wild August - S/T 3 track EP from 1994 (these 3 tracks are not on the 2 Retrospect releases, have a harder edge sound and are very good, like Johnny Crash meets Skid Row).
  20. I'm curious too. Actually, I did not really realize there was a major difference. We didn't make these at home on our laptops. We went to a studio and digitally mastered everything again and used a professional CD manufacturer to have them produced. The newer CDR manufacturing processes seem to be just as durable as silver pressed, but in the past I know they were not. So, I suppose that has a lingering effect on people's opinions. There are die hard music afficianados out there who just prefer the silver pressed. This is their right and we will respect that, but if I am missing something, let me know. Terry Dunn Lead Guitar - Banshee http://www.BansheeRocks.com This is a topic that's been discussed ad infinitum at the board...the short answer is that some people just prefer silver pressed cd's to CDR media. Now when you get into the reasons for that preference, that's where it gets complicated. Personally, it's like you said...there's a stigma attached to CDR's as being "cheap". Durability is a major factor for me, as well. By the way, kudos to you for coming to the board to explain the situation & offering a solution. Very cool of you. I think another reason is that anyone can make a CD-R, but they can't make a silver pressed CD. It is true that the quality of CD-Rs has improved, but that's just another reason. Lots of times I already have a CD-R of an out of print CD, so why would I buy another CD-R.
  21. Wow, that's a tough one, I went with Fair Warning and 5150. Looks like Metal T has great taste
  22. I got my Cry In The Night today and yes, they are CD-Rs, but the packaging isn't as bad as I was envisioning. Definitely not like your typical store bought CD, but definitely better than the Retrospect CD-Rs releases I've seen (not knocking Retrospect, I just know a lot of people have seen their releases on the board so I'm just using the quality of their CD-R releases as an example). Definitely not the best but not the worse either. My CD is silkscreened and the artwork is a little washed out. It is a simple 2 page booklet with lyrics printed inside. However the sound quality is very good since Cry In The Night was only available on cassette and vinyl until now. So I'm happy just to have this on CD finally with good sound quality even if it is a CD-R (but I do wish they would have pressed these on silver CDs). However I'm not sure how the sound quality compares on Take Em By Storm and Race Against Time since I already owned these to begin with and didn't have to order the reissues. So I would recommend buying Cry In The Night just based on the fact that this is the only way to get it in CD format with good CD quality sound and find originals of their 2nd and 3rd release.
