  1. So I guess our choices are.......Retrospect gets this release and we will see it quicker..... if Suncity gets it, the packaging will be a bit nicer but we will have to wait 6 months or more for the finished product.......hmmm........not sure which way to go here.............
  2. I am doing the same Lon, I have had no luck with any new ebayers, either with 0 feedback, or just a few positives, so on my next auction, I will cancel any bids from anyone with low or no feedback, that will save a ton of time......good advice for everyone......Thanks to Delbert for the update....... Michael
  3. I have sold cd's to Thomas and his friend Gerry, (no shit, Tom and Gerry), on several occasions on ebay, they won some of my auctions, and were some what slow to pay, but did pay and all was ok....now that is alot different than a trade, in a trade you have no ebay or paypal to fall back on, so I would recommend being cautious, I probably would not send my items first, unless you find someone who has actually traded with him successfully, that is about all I know on him.......good luck! Michael
  4. WOW, thought I had heard all his excuses, this guy is just full of drama, Thanks Del for letting us all know his latest id, and please keep us updated on what happens....... Michael
  5. Just got my Big Cock in the mail today....lol......comes in one of those thin slipcases, and the cd is silver pressed.......and the music is killer! now this is how you make music! Check it out!
  6. Just a little update on this.....I still have not received payment from Tom Kerlyn aka glammed on ebay, so I have filed the various reports to get my fees back and report this guy, I did email some of the people he won other things from, some got payment, some didn't....so I am sure his time with this id is limited, if you are a seller make sure you block...glammed......and if he ever starts selling again I certianly would not bid on his stuff either, too many horror stories there.......
  7. yep...by ourselves we might never know about some of these guys....but when we share info on bad experiences or all out rip off artists, we all benefit!! Like Del said, thanks to all for the info, I am sure it has kept some of us from repeating the problems with these dorks, lets keep it up!

  9. Ok James, lets lay this out so everyone can see it, and not just your side of it....... I am the person I think he is referring to, James has been calling me for a while now, buying a few things, mostly just wasting my time, ($3000 spent on my stuff??? I wish..) .....he had been asking me to send him lists or to let him know what I had for sale.....so I did.....everyone here knows my prices can be high at times, but no one is forced to pay them, and I often have some really rare stuff.....I told him I would sell my extra hot boy cd (which was obtained in a trade a month earlier)....as well as quite a few other cd's I had for sale....any one of which could be reissued or a band could put alot out there on the day I offer my stuff or soon after, and then my asking price might seem pretty outrageous....but guess what....no one is making anyone buy my stuff.....everyone has a choice....after sending james my list of stuff, the band hotboy comes up with a couple cases making my price seem high, normally $250 for hotboy is pretty good, I have seen this cd go for over $400, several times, but when the band sells them at $50-$60 each yes my price seems overblown, but again...don't buy it if you don't like the price....I have been told quite a few times that "no, I don't want it for that price" no problem, this guy seems to think if you offer him something and then he finds a better price, instead of feeling happy he saved a few bucks, you were trying to rip him off.....it is pretty hard to rip someone off when they frequent this board, so if I had already known hotboy was going for $50 , offering mine for $250 is a sure way not to get it sold.......I told james I have no advance knowledge that bands are going to come up some extra copies of a rare cd, if I offered mine on the same day it was offered for less, then that is bad timing, more so for me as my cd just won't sell for my asking price, when there are these coming out for $50 or so..........so James put away your cloak and dagger theories.....no one ripped you off....not sure what you are talking about $3000 you spent on my stuff??? you never spent $3000 on anything I had for sale.....you bought concrete jungle.....and a few other cd's, so you are dreaming when you say $3000, at least to me......so to anyone who is thinking of selling to james aka STARYDER1, better think again...if you offer him something at what you think is a fair price and he finds one cheaper that day, or even a few days later, you will be accused of something underhanded.....not sure about him but if I find a good price I buy it....and I do not buy the higher priced item....I don't get pissed off at the guy who wanted more for his stuff.....that is his right.....as far as the "nasty letter" I wrote back to james, I just told him I did not want him bidding on my stuff on ebay so I blocked him from bidding, ( don't want you spending money on my stuff, finding it cheaper elsewhere and getting mad at me, becuase you did not look) so I guess if that is nasty then so be it.......sorry you feel so victimized james......but I told you before and I will tell you again....you need to slow down and check prices, and check around....instead of just calling me, talking 300 miles an hour, and buying anything that sounds cool or wanting me to hold stuff till you get paid, then backing out of most of it....then calling foul if you get offered something that might seem outrageiously priced.....you need to check around.......
  10. Hey Lon, do you mean the number that is on the green customs label that goes on all international packages???
  11. got him blocked, thanks Aaron!! sorry he/paypal ripped you off, but the info does help others, take care, Michael
  12. Hey everyone, if you are a seller on ebay, better block this guy, I am sure some of you have had dealings with Tom Kerlyn, he has had various user id's on ebay and I have had some good transactions with him, and some bad, he is currently using: glammed he won a couple items from me on ebay, then disappeared, I have reported him to ebay, and in 7 days will file for my fees back, just wanted to warn everyone here....deal with him at your own risk, he has a 0 feedback rating, new member status, from now on I will cancel all bids from new users, with 0 feedback, I have had nothing but trouble from folks with 0 feedback, take care . Michael
  13. Awww...now yer jus' showin' off!!! And not even ONE mention of Kerygma Child!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well......I guess I am showing off a little, and there are 3000 more cd's that just did not make the list...lol...., thanks to you for helping me build this....as well as another fellow who shall remain nameless....you know who you are....lol......also would have to mention folks like PJ, Koogles, Paulo, Mike, Adriano, Taki, Burt, Metal Mayhem, Dave in canada, Dave in PA, and of course EBAY,.....without big time sellers I would have no collection at all......lol...... (my apologies if I left someone off this list, although some would not want to be on the list, that is why I left them off), lol...

  15. I think it shows a helluva lot of character for Lonnie to step up without being named. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree, I think Lon is a great guy, I am sure this is some kind of misunderstanding, I might have an extra obi for that cd, I could send you guys, I will look and see on that..... just checked, I don't have that obi, sorry....I had good intentions though...lol.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> it's amazing how these little problems can get so big......

  18. Hi Lindsay, so after you had agreed on a price they jacked it up the next day, trying to get more money?? I would tell them to shove it, as there is nothing I despise more than someone who goes back on a deal, so whether or not this lot is for real, I would drop it for the fact they are jerking you around on the price, and it does seem too good to be true, never heard of the name but their actions are familiar, seen alot of folks do that, after I posted a want list....one thing I do is put in with my want list a few pieces that were never released on cd, but act as though I think they have been, and if they say they have them, then I know they are full of shit, hope it works out, Michael
  19. Hi PeterS, if you have purhcased alot of cd-r reissues like I have you see them in varying quality, from burned copies in someones bedroom up to pressed cd-r's produced in mass.....so the discs are not the same becuase cd-r's were used, the ones I have seen being used lately are cd-r type media meaning they are not cheap cd-r's purchased at walmart, they look to be cd-r's but also a step up in quality, so that is why I called them cd-r type media and not cd-r's, I guess they are similar but you have to see them to know what I am talking about, really nice quality discs. If you purchase the Suspicion re-issues or Retrospect re-issues and then buy the Push Reissue or some of the cd's on CDbaby, you can get a taste of the difference I spoke of, about half the bands on cdbaby are releaseing their stuff and pressing them on cd-r media, so there is just no other way to get them, but they don't have the better media or take the time in the labeling process, the heat sealing these other bands are doing is really nice, as far as your comment about piracy goes, I don't know about every release coming out on Retrospect, but I find alot of bands looking for rare cd's, one I was looking for recently was called Red China Blue, which is now on Retrospects list of stuff coming out, I actually found the guys before getting the new list from Retrospect, emailed them to see if they had some cd's I could buy, they said all their stuff was being reissued through Retrospect Records, so I had to buy it there... so I know he obtained the rights of their music, I of course don't have inside info on all his stuff, but I know for a fact he is reissueing Red China Blue with full consent......which means he very well could have the rights to alot more if not all the stuff he is doing, and he or any label does not need the consent of the entire band, by law he only needs the consent of the person owning the publishing rights to the music, and that might only be one band member, just playing on a cd does not give you the publishing rights, it is usually the person who put up the capital to begin with.........so even when there is an actual reissue, sometimes the cash for that is going to only one bandmember, not the entire band.......thus alot of bands get fighting over that...... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can you please explain the difference between a cd-r and 'cd-r type media'. As far as Retrospect go I tend to agree with you. As long as somebody is aware of what they are buying and it's licenced he can charge what he likes. That's capitalism, like it or not. Where I do have a problem is the e-bay add that was clearly written to be evasive from the fact that it's a re-issue. The web site is fine. 20 dollars looks at first sight quite a lot but given the low volumes likely to be sold and the effort in making them it's probably fair. He'll see himself whether the market can support a 50 dollar re-issue. As for inventing a label and re-issuing unlicenced material. That's just piracy isn't it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  20. Yep...you hit it right on the head Recordjnky! Alot of folks are not into the complete "collector" mode or mind set, they just want the disc, on a more professionally done package than just a burned copy with the band name scribbled across the disc in magic marker...so when they get any cd that maybe is an official release, and maybe it is not, to alot of folks they are just thrilled to own it in a form of cd, other than the homeade variety, a seller who is possiblly selling stuff that is not legit or not band sanctioned, still gets great feedback......as collectors when we say something is a cd-r, we automatically think of something homemade but the pressings that are being done by some of the bands, (the new suspicion releases jump to mind) are really nicely done pressings , not burns, but cd's that are heat sealed, and just beautifully done, despite being done on cd-r type media...I have finally been able to see the new releases from Retrospect and I must say they are very nice, heat sealed pressings on cd-r type media, not burned cd-r's or homemade stuff, and a large step up from what Joe Dolan was doing before with retrospect, if anyone has the bittersweet you know what I mean, as a collector I will have to own all of the retrospect releases as well as Suncity, or Metal Mayhem.....I really think there really is not alot of folks that are into that complete collectors mode or mindset...I used to be only interested in getting stuff that was on cd, I did not want anything done on cd-r type media or even tape, but I have discovered alot of stuff is worth hearing, and the only way to get it is in these various forms I have mentioned, I am always going to be a totally full blown collector, who wants all the rare cd's I can get...but instead of limiting myself to just cd's, I am tyring to get the music anyway I can.... now I don't condone counterfiet cd's, which are reproductions meant to be passed off as the original pressings, but stuff like these camp classics could become quite collectible to alot of people, I know folks who love collecting these types of "reissues", although if the are cheaply done cd-r burns I can't figure that out, the reborn classics became very collectible by alot of poeple dispite being poorly done, but they were collectible, and on the other end of the spectrum of quality are the labels Suncity Records, Retrospect Records, Metal Mayhem Music, etc, these guys are really doing some great reissues and releases...forget about the things that have been said on this board about some of these labels, and the personalities that have had blow up's, (me included) think about it... what might be coming out, and how they are being done, from these 3 labels, this year alone?? Whether I think I am a collector or not, It makes me wet my pants.....lol.......
  21. thanks for the Headsup Lon!! Good advice, I have blocked him as well...... take care. Michael
  22. Well....if it is James you should be getting some type of email, but only after you harrass him some to pay, that he can't pay for 3-4 weeks, usually he has a medical bill or insurance, or accident, etc.....that will stop him from paying. Occasionally he does pay, but most of the time he is a pain in the neck. Unless his user id gets suspended, which prevented him from leaving me a negative last time I dealt with him, you are risking a negative by not selling to the high bidder, but there are worse things than negatives, what he is doing these days is paying for the disc, and when it arrives saying he did not get it and get his cash back through paypal, so I would just risk the negative, offer it to the 2nd high bidder, and move on, I block him at every turn, but he has always come up with new user id's, not sure if this has helped or not, maybe some other folks have some advice as to what they would do, good luck!! Michael
  23. well, still no cd, I have requested a refund from Suncity Records, and not just for the blue tears but for the schoolboy crush as well, I will get them elsewhere, I will let you all know if they are giving refunds, or just taking preorders!
  24. yeah..maybe..but with david's shady past I have every reason to be worried......
  25. Still no cd today..........................I will order through NEH Records next time, they know what customer service is all about!
