Manilla Thrills and Retrospect Records

I guess Sun City and Metal Mayhem will be gutted about that as they were also in the running to release this disc. Good for Sam I say. I have dealt with him many times and can't say enough about his integrity to the music. Personally , I could care less what color the discs were , Retrospect is releasing so many kickass albums it's difficult not to stand up and notice. I think some of us collectors really should start giving props where they are due. Sam will always have his enemies I suppose.

I heard through the grapevine that Sam offered Manila Thrills the best royalty rates and promised silver discs so I guess they couldn't refuse that.

2 cents.

Great to see it is going to be silver pressed......I to have had nothing but great service from Sam and i think it is great that he is putting out all this killer releases.....But i just have an issue with them being cdr's......It is just my opinion, but to me a reissue should be a regular silver pressed cd......But like i said i am glad Sam is doing well with this wish him nothing but the best......

I think since the disc will be printed in higher numbers (i am assuming 1,000 since that's the standard minimum for silver discs) that Retrospect will offer these discs at a decent price. I suggested $12.99 to Sam. He did make it clear to me that he is adamant about not wholesaling out to other companies because they just compete for lower prices. Understandable.

That is totally understanding, to me the point of it just being available is awesome news......to me the prices are not the problem.....Like the ones that are cdr's that have been selling for $49.99, and i know because it may be because they are printed in small quanities, but for a cdr that is insane, if all his others were silver pressed it would be well worth the money to me......Again not knocking Sam by any means, i and glad he is able to put all this stuff out.....

Take care

Just heard today that the Manilla Thrills cd will be released by Retrospect Records and will be silver pressed.  Awesome stuff.

That's great news. The last time I talked with Michael he said that Sam would be willing to do silver pressed cd's for him. Can't wait to get this great album on disc.

I'm tired of listening to my shitty copy.

Can anyone tell me who they sound like & what style of music it is? Most of Retrospects' stuff so far has been ultra-commercial MHR - right up my street - & if this is the same I'll be getting it too....

Tim, I have the cassette turned mp3. The songs got alot of feedback somehow, and don't sound the best, but if you PM me your email I'll shoot you over a couple of songs so you can check out Manila Thrills.

    • Anything created to promote our music is good news and Skunk Anansie are quality.
    • FRONTIERS EXPANSION, NEW LABEL IMPRINT AND MAJOR SIGNING NEWS! A special message from Serafino Perugino, President of Frontiers Label Group: Dear friends, I am thrilled to announce the creation of Frontiers Label Group, which will umbrella Frontiers Music Srl and further labels, the first of which is our new imprint FLG. This expansion allows us to diversify and strengthen our position in the rock and metal landscape, while continuing to uphold the values that have guided us since the beginning. While Frontiers Music Srl remains home to melodic rock, hard rock, and metal artists, FLG will be dedicated to pushing the boundaries of rock and alternative music. This bold step marks our continued evolution as a leader in the rock and metal genres, and it is with immense pride that we welcome rock icons Skunk Anansie to the FLG family as the first signing to our new imprint. The signing of Skunk Anansie is a meaningful moment in the history of Frontiers, an important landmark in our development as one of the leading international rock and metal labels. This is only the beginning! We are excited to bring more news and announcements in the coming months as we continue to grow and expand Frontiers Label Group, our imprints and our roster of incredible artists. Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this exciting new journey together! Long Live Rock n’ Roll!! Serafino

    • Added Framing the Red over on the main site recently: Framing the Red discography reference list of music CDs. Heavy Harmonies Their website: Framing The Red Their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/framingtheredband Their YouTube channel: (23) Framing the Red Official Page - YouTube They have four releases, and all are quite good in my opinion. If I had to describe them, I'd say this is what Gunshine would sound like if they went in a more southern rock direction.  Here are some of my favorite tracks... Crossroads   Whiskey & Weed   Holy Water   Mississippi Hippie   Heroes   Bonnie & Clyde   Rockin' Into the Night (38 Special cover)   "Crossroads" and "Heroes" are probably my two faves.  *I will give a word of warning:  if you decide to purchase any of their discs, they are barebones releases with just the CD in a cardboard slipcase. I enjoy the music enough that that's not an issue for me though.  @lettard @KarpetRydOFunk @tts42572 @AlphaMale @Dead Planet @Mr.AOR @tobi is an animal I think all of you gentlemen should give these guys a listen and see what you think.
    • H.E.A.T - 1000 Miles Vega - Hands In The Air The Defiants - Stay Issa - River of Love I'm at work right now so that's all I know off the top of my head but I'll look through my library for more when I get a chance.
    • Maybe anything by the Darkness
    • Wig wam - hard to be a rock n roller
    • Saw these guys first time a couple of years ago, when they were 16-17 years old, they are absolutely awesome. They have been touring for a few years now, performing their own songs, yet haven't released anything, until now. I have tickets to see them this saturday, opening for Mercenary.
