I like it when artists have a sense of history and have a detailed knowledge of the past greats.

I agree. He can come across as preachy but I'll always listen to what he has to say because he's a genuine fan and knows his roots. I think it's cool when a musician who influenced a generation talks about the musicians who influenced their own generation.
