Listen To New THE WILDHEARTS Single 'Dislocated'

British rockers THE WILDHEARTS will release "Renaissance Men" on May 3 May, their first full-length studio album in 10 years.

The first single from the disc, a song called "Dislocated", can be streamed below.

"'Dislocated' is a song about mental health issues," the band says. "THE WILDHEARTS have collective experience in this field, and hope to draw attention to this issue. We think it is very important for sufferers to reach out and talk, and for non-sufferers to regularly check on their friends and family. A simple phone call could save a life."

The cover art for "Renaissance Men" was created by renowned artist Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ATHEIST, SODOM) and can be seen below.

"Renaissance Men" track listing:

01. Dislocated
02. Let 'Em Go
03. The Renaissance Men
04. Fine Art Of Deception
05. Diagnosis
06. My Kinda Movie
07. Little Flower
08. Emergency (Fentanyl Babylon)
09. My Side Of The Bed
10. Pilo Erection

To coincide with the release of "Renaissance Men", THE WILDHEARTS' classic lineup of Ginger, CJ, Ritchie and Danny will play an eight-date U.K. tour. This intimate trek will start in Manchester at the Academy 2 on Friday, May 3 and conclude at the Riverside in Newcastle on Sunday, May 12.

"Well, fuck me, it's only been 10 years since our last release and we have a monster album on its way," CJ said. "Danny is back in the band and we hit the road in May, playing new tunes and all the old hits. Can't wait and I know the boys are super bloody excited for this. ROCK!"

Creatively brilliant, THE WILDHEARTS play a distinctive fusion of hard rock, perfectly complemented by contemporary melodies.

With a career spanning nearly 30 years THE WILDHEARTS helped change the landscape of British rock through the '90s, and to this day they haven't shown any sign of slowing down.

I really would not call them the "classic line up" as they did what, one album (well three versions of one album) with that line up, and it wasn't even their best album.

    • I have a few (two, maybe three?) friends on here who know me and my ongoing fascination with ballads and power ballads. I thought i'd catch you up on the project. As a teen I made a collection of 10 or so mix tapes which i named "Mellow Metal," which looking back makes me chuckle. While the title's alliteration was pleasing to the ears, many of the songs included on the tapes were hardly metal. Ballads by Cheap Trick, Heart, and other such outliers were included in the collection. In August of 2020 i began my journey of an online project by starting a list of every ballad i knew by AOR, Hard Rocks, Heavy Metal, and Hair Metal acts. I crafted criteria for "What Makes a Power Ballad," and the list began to grow. Quickly. In December of that year i lost my oldest son to an overdose, and my enthusiasm and passion for that project evaporated. In the ensuing months, the original domain lapsed and i remained uninspired. The project died. Three years later, I was looking for something to bring me joy — so i revived the project with a new domain of thepowerballadz.com. I began to once again make posts online asking for song suggestions and i realized i had real trouble selling my song choices as POWER BALLADS. People rightfully pushed me on my song choices, and i realized that the term POWER BALLAD was too ... focused. I realized i wanted all mellow songs by bands that i love ... some of which are power ballads, some are just ballads, and yet some aren't even ballads ... just mellow songs. So, I've retooled my criteria from determining what a POWER BALLAD is to determining what songs make the cut to be on my list. I've also decided that the title thepowerballadz isn't working anymore ... so I've gone with theballadz.com. Is that a perfect moniker? Probably not. (Got a better idea? Let me know!) So, HERE is a link to the updated website and HERE is a link to the updated criteria. I'd love to hear thoughts from any ballad (power ballad or not) fans. Thanks guys!

    • I guarantee that virtually nobody here will like this, as it is death metal, but interesting and innovative choices in instrumentation and composition intrigue me. When this song hits the breakdown it takes on very interesting vibe IMO.
