Audrey Horne - Youngblood

The cover is pretty rubbish though (although it looks like a deliberate attempt at a cheesy 80s metal album cover):

I liked their Le Fol album, but I haven't heard much more. I may check this one out.

I like it. Pretty straightforward hard rock. The cover reminds me of Kiss' Rock 'n' Roll Over.

Based on that two tracks, I'm pretty much stoked to explore the album. Nothing's groundbreaking but yeah a solid classic style hard rock, looks promising. Nice find, J !

This album really is very good. Lots of good songs, these one in particular is a fantastic tune, among my favourites of the year so far:

 

 

'The King Is Dead' is another great track.

Rechecked this album again for the second time and I must say, it's a good hard rock / heavy metal stuff but not mind-blowing. 'Redemption Blues' is a very strong opener. 'Straight Into Your Grave' reminds me a lot of either Motorhead or Saxon. 'Youngblood' is radio friendly, a great melodic rock track. 'Cards With The Devil' may ripped off MOTLEY's 'Shout' but with faster tempo, so need to show this down to 6.5. 'Pretty Little Sunshine' might be the best track here, I gave it a solid 9. The rest 4 tracks are okay but not great except 'This Ends Here' is very much enjoyable with a set of nice riffs. Production is very solid and in some tracks, I also saw some Maiden influences. Musicianship is great and replay value is kinda fall between 7 or 7.5 because this album lack of consistency, there are at least 2-3 fillers and 3-4 okay tracks.
