Candy Harlots - they're back!

Heard it a few weeks back from someone close to the band, and read confirmation on myspace this morning.

Not sure what lien-up it is though, but think it may be the Aiz line-up cos the press release talks all about the debut album and the singels from that era.

But the most fucked up part is.... looks like I'll be unable to make it cos of fucking work. We have these jobs about once a year that run 24hours around the clock for 1-2 weeks, and this year the job I am managing falls in that fucking week, therefore aobut 0% chance of me getitng off from work unless the date of the job changes.

Wow! Cool news, I'll probably even make a trip down to Sydney for that one.

I picked up originals of both Devils In Heaven CD singles today (and a CDR of David Whitney solo album) thanks to a fellow fan down in Sydney...now if only those guys and Roxus could do a reunion gig...that's be awesome. What'd be really cool is if all these 80's/90's aussie hard rock bands could get together and put on a show, each playing a set or something.

woo! Im there!

So whos in SO far officially? Me, Geoffybear and Justin...? Cmon Linds!

Basically, if i took this weekend off from work i would lose my job. Any other weekend would be fine. The 5-6 months work I am doing now leads into the 1 week during which the gig falls. My only hope is that they change the date on which they want this job done. (Basically they will shut down the whole site for us to do what we need so we don't have much choice in dates).

Booked! I wonder why gates open at 5pm? What up with that?

I wonder why there are gates?

It's in a club, right?

Silence! Even as I typed that I knew someone would pick me up on that.

I wonder why the doors open at 5pm? Any guesses?

Well something tells me they might just succeed.

    • Probably the wisest thing said on this thread.  Realistically, we're all in this position.

    • To be honest, it doesn't really concern me if he did or didn't. I put it out there are a kind of olive branch (ie: not everything is completely imaginary and made up) Not many lives were well documented 2000 years ago. Likelihood is that he existed, and had some small amount of notoriety. Was killed and became a Randy Rhodes or Jeff Buckley. A lot more famous after death than when alive. The bibles changed over the years, his exploits became more impressive and eventually  became a demi god. Ironically I love easter and Jesus stories. They make great stories
    • That's really not proven. Opinions split. On the balance of it there is a fair chance he existed but it cannot be proven definitively he did.  His life isn't well documented outside of the bible.  It's long but this is a good video on the topic.
    • I thank that may be partially due to his delivery style. He'll read part of a quote/sentence/article, make a pithy remark, lather rinse repeat. So it takes him a while to get through things and for the full point to come across. I think if he cut down his breaks by 50% it would be much more digestable. Still, as Lefties go, he's seemingly got more brain power and common sense than many...
    • New song 'Irreversible'. From Frontiers: 'Irreversible' is a new single from Norway's Big City. The track is from the recording sessions for their most recent studio album, "Testify X", which is out now. Fans of bands such as Firewind, Queensryche, Magnus Karlsson's Free Fall, Europe, Fair Warning, and the like should look forward to being introduced to this exciting band.
    • Yeah mate, that's definitely them through and through. Maybe slightly "ballsier" in recent years, but if you dig that you'll dig their gear.
