SKY HD £49

I really want to get this update on Sky+.

Remind me who has this, I`m trying to convince Mrs Rock Fan to purchase this (she looks after the finances)

£49 seems a great price, not too keen on the £10 per month subscription though.

Has anyone got a better deal with Sky, half price subscription etc?

Does Sky replace the dish or just the box?

Sky will replace the box and will replace the LNB if it's a single feed with a quad one.

If you currently have Sky+, then it will only need a box change and your viewing card 'paired' to the new box.

£49 is a good price, however, I personally don't want to pay an additional £10 a month on top of my existing subscription hence I went for Freesat.

Thanks for the info mate, Mrs Rock Fan is adamant she won`t pay the subscription for limited channels, I may have to phone up and negotiate if they`re willing to do that!

I`m too lazy to read up on Freesat mate, can you explain what it is, how much etc ?

Thanks

Freesat is a pay once, watch for free service from the BBC & ITV. It is currently the only way to watch ITV HD via the interactive red button (it's not a separate channel)

Average price for the HD set top box is around £120 and approx £300 for the PVR version.

If you've already got a 'Sky' dish then you just need to run a cable from the LNB

Yep I've got the full package too, very good value IMO. And SKY have the best customer service (which is why I switched from AOL). I love the HD....

We thought about getting this. But I don't think I'll bother,an extra tenner is a bit steep and I think you have to be a bit tv boffin to appreciate the fact that someones red coat is "Sooooooooooo much redder " on H.D.

Believe me you dont have to 'be a boffin'.......the difference is ridiculous. Better than (old) DVD IMO.

Sport in particular is great.
