Hang Loose Records

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Anyone had any recent experiences with HL? I've bought from them in the past, but seem to have trouble getting a response lately.. I'm even thinking of giving them a call..(international one for me).

Johann and Juergen from Hang Loose are two incredibly disorganised fellows. Or so it seems anyway. I and a very good friend of mine have been very annoyed with them on a number of occasions.

It is not unusual for them not to respond. Mostly this is the case when they do not have the ordered CD's on stock, which happens very often, and you are asking for a shipment date, because you have been waiting for weeks. Is this the case here ?!?!

I have given up on Hang Loose in the meantime and rarely order from them. Waste of time. I would send them one more reminder threatening them that you will cancel the order, if they do not reply. This usually helps.

I've purchased from Hangloose once in the past and don't recall there being any problems. Maybe a bit slow to post but that doesn't bother me much as long as it arrives within 4-6 weeks I'm usually happy. In fact I was browsing their website today and considering another order. Even though the Australian dollar is still very weak, there are quite a few new releases and re-issues that I really want so I think I'm just going to lash out and make a bulk purchase from one of the retailers. I'm deciding between AOR Heaven, NEH and Hangloose at this stage.

Georg Siegl from AOR Heaven definitely is the better choice in Germany. At least he has the stuff on stock.

Yeah, I've always found AOR Heaven very reliable...just wish their international postage was a fraction cheaper

Yeah, I ordered quite a lot of stuff from him on ebay. This site is lousy, though ! How do you ever find anything ? But I agree, he does have good prices.

Yeah that isn't too bad I guess, for some reason I thought it was more expensive than that.

I've had great experiences with NEH, AOR Heaven and Schmankerl Records...

NEH is great to deal with, I've never had one single problem.

I do think there prices are a little high but I still buy from them since their service is so damn good.

I think Georg at Aorheaven is great to deal with. I ordered many years from him before Ebay in the good old days. Had only great experiences all the time.

Georg from AOR HEAVEN is absolutely the best!

I had good luck with HANGLOOSE back in the day, but haven't purchased from them in at least 6 years.

I have bought from Hang Loose several times. Had no problems at all. I buy from them, Schmankerl, and NEH for most new releases. I used to buy a ton from Georg at AOR Heaven but he lost my business a couple of years ago by failing to respond to 3 polite e-mails I sent him over a period of time in regard to my orders. The last two orders I had with him all showed on my order that I was being charged in US dollars but both times he charged my credit card in Euros and I paid a hefty fee for Visa to convert US dollars to Euros. So I refuse to buy from someone who can't be bothered to at least explain why he started doing this to a good customer.

i did hear back from Hang Loose today and apparently Jurgen had a bad cold and was out of the office several days... so everything is cool. i was just expressing my frustration. They do have some good deals that i couldn't find elsewhere. thanks for all the comments!

    • Yeah mate, that's definitely them through and through. Maybe slightly "ballsier" in recent years, but if you dig that you'll dig their gear.
    • I was meant to see Crazy Lixx too, and it turned into a massive fuck-around. They didn't end up coming to Australia after a massive failed festival event. I think they were still headed here, but it was right at the start of covid and I think that may have been a factor in them cancelling too. Pretty devastating at the time, but thankfully Reckless Love had more testicular fortitude and that was one of, if not my favourite (and as fate would have it, last) concert outing so far.
    • Just heard that 'We unite' song. Not into it, but hoping there's better to come as I like the vocals (of course) and it's a good ballsy sound. Just a terrible chorus.
    • I've just revisited the original and as worthy as the above cover is, the original is perfection.
    • HOLY FUCKING FUCK OF A FUCK!!! One of my favourite songs ever! How did I not know of this KILLER cover!?  I'm not familiar with the album either, I'll have to check it out.
    • Yeah I'm not completely sold on Brand either. He is very intelligent, switched on and an excellent speaker, but I don't connect as much with him as I do others. Watch him every now and then but not subscribed as I'm not overly interested in a lot of his videos.
    • Russell Brand goes on a bit too much about spirituality most of the time for me, and he is very slow to get to the point, compared to someone like, say the awesome Jordan Peterson. I remember when I first saw the Sarah Silverman was dong video blogs, because I thought she was pretty great and funny. And then I saw some, and now I hate her. I hate pretty much everything she says, and I even find it hard watching her movies lol
    • Randy Piper's Animal - Judgement Day. Killer track unfortunately not on youtube.  The start of the chorus says it all.   "I'm here to tell you I'm watching you, I'm watching everything you do, GOD knows, 'cause he asked me to".   Job gets it.
    • haha, just what this place has been missing. A religious thread. I don't believe in any higher power, just like I don't believe in ghosts or aliens. Show me one and I will believe, until then.... As far as mainstream religions go, they are all equally silly to me. Defining a 'god' or 'gods' and creating images on them, and worshipping them? Really? Just because you don't know? Christianity is ridiculed in Australia, because like it or not we are a Christian society. Want proof? attend parliament, and they say the lord's prayer before every sitting. Having travelled extensively around the world, I will say that Catholicism is the worst of them all. Money hungry, money grabbing religion that it. Asian religions and much more realistic. Anyway here's the thing. I DON'T KNOW I don't know how we got here. I know how we evolved. But I don't know where our consciousness came from, and I don't know where it goes, if anywhere. And I don't care, because I can't change it anyway. For me life is more about being a good person, doing right by others and living a happy life. I've said for years, the secret to life is in two parts. Stay healthy and he happy. That's it. Worship whomever you like. Doesn't affect me. You guys create some great temples and churches and I enjoy visiting them. Interestingly, even 10 or 15 years ago, not many dared to come out and admit they had no faith. These days, this is common, but rare for people to come out and say they are Christian, or whatever. Jesus was real. His life is fairly well documented. Was he the son of a god? lol If anything he was a magician of sorts. Probably a decent bloke though. Scariest thing I've seen recently was the NY mayor talking about covid and how god has chosen it and people should get immunised to serve god or whatever. Damn, I would HATE to live in a bible belt of the US. Hell, people in my country don't ever really get a flag out except for one day a year that everyone hates because it's now all about invasion etc. I've been through the US and was amazed at the amount of flags on front lawns, letterboxes, and everywhen. You guys care about your country far more than us
