I'm embarrassed that I didn't notice this release 2 years ago.

 

This is the band of ex-Within Temptation keyboardist Martijn Westerholt (brother of Robert Westerholt from WT). It is very similar to WT, and Sharon from WT sings vocals on one of the tracks.

 

Here are two of my favorite tracks from their CD:

Yeh i posted a review of this on here quite awhile ago. Thanks for taking notice Dan!

 

I think i said something along the lines of "this is a WT copycat... except not a good one". It was pretty ordinary and i soon forgot about it.

There were another two similar albums that came out about the same time in this vein which you might like Dan... Delain was easily the worst of them from memory...

I know this thread is about Lucidity but I wanted to mention I picked up April Rain this year after Dan posted a few tracks for sample. What a great CD and definitely a great change of pace from what I usually listen to. So good IMO that I will buying Lucidity eventually.

 

Anyone here have both CD's and want to offer and opinion or comparison?

I've heard a few songs (The Gathering and A Day For Ghosts) from Lucidity and did like what I heard...so far. Overall you think it is it worth the $$ to pick up even though you think less of it than April Rain?

'April Rain' is a brilliant album and one of my faves from this year so far. I heard that 'Lucidity' wasn't that great, so have never bothered picking it up so far.

Damn, I will have to hunt down some more tracks other than The Gathering and Ghosts...because I like those. But I have done that before, heard a tune or 2 off an album, thought the album would be great but it turned out those were the only good tunes. (Hmmm, good topic for a post maybe)

Are you in the camp that Lucidity is not as good as April Rain? Either way, I'm guessing you still think it is worth owning?
