  1. Dye your hair and beard red?
  2. Seems a bit shady to play a gig like a week after CJ died...
  3. $16 shipping to Australia 😞. Pity cause I would have liked that disc.
  4. 5. 64 is too young. So sad for his loved ones. He will be missed.
  6. The Black Crowes - Happiness Bastards (Vinyl Replica edition) Lenny Kravitz - Blue Electric Light (Deluxe Edition) pre-order
  7. I'm shocked! I thought it was a very funny comeback to say you'd never heard of the bearded trio (ok one doesn't have a beard but he is named Beard). Now, I think you are serious and I have choked on my Milo!
  8. Course I listen. They are Aussie legends. Didn't realise they were doing something new. It's been a long time.
  9. Hi Garrison from Victoria (Australia). When you say AOR you must still have room for some ZZ Top, right? Isn't it illegal not to like ZZ Top if you are into rock music and from Texas?
  10. He looks and sounds the part. Cool stuff.
  11. It's been almost 30 years. Only Gen Xers like me would remember when Sebastian was the vocalist. Agreed it would be awesome, but liklihood of it happening is zero.
  12. Was just googling Smoking Snakes and most of the links came up for the Sabaton song of the same name. So, given they are Swedish, I reckon they were named for this song. The song itself is about a Brazilian WWII force nicknamed "Smoking Snakes" who fought against the Nazis (it is Sabaton, remember). So, all in all, a pretty cool band name with some history behind it.
  13. Let me guess, Lzzy Hale will be the temporary new singer.
  14. Just got back from Dune 2 at the cinema. Freakin' amazing film. Even better than the first. Never thought they'd still be able to make huge sci-fi films anymore or anything decent on this scale given the absolute dreck that are all the Disney and Superhero rubbish being pumped out instead.
  15. The debut was a surprise favourite of mine back in 2020. It kinda flew under the radar. This sophomore release should see greater recognition for Notorious. Again we have a sleazy hard rock sound on the heavier end of the spectrum. What blows me away though is this title track. Talk about a genre mash up. We have guest death metal vocals over a sleazy anthem. Somehow it works. It is a phenomenal track! There is no second album slump here. Great stuff.
  16. Used an Amazon gift card to get more synthwave... I'm down to gift cards now, my CD buying days are gonna be severely curtailed now... Gunship - Dark All Day Gunship - Unicorn
  17. Pretty average singer and pretty average hooks. Sorry, not great at all. Sorry, I listened to both tracks and will expand on my thoughts. The issue I have with the singer's voice is how "youthful" it sounds, lacking grit or expression. Sounds a bit like a punk pop singer. I also don't think the weak choruses help the cause or the lack of BGVs. The guitarist seems ok but the lack of, not being technical, "crunch" on the sound doesn't do it for me. Again, I feel thus is a player who sounds like they are more used to playing pop punk than hard rock. I think the producer may be at fault a bit by not fleshing out the sound or beefing up the choruses. I'm not a musician, just a fan with a heap of albums. This band just doesn't do it for me based on the two tracks posted.
  18. I personally think the answer should be a no to Collective Soul. While I like them, I think they are more alternative rock and if they are added in the database, it means there are a thousand other 90s era bands that also should be there. I agree it is inconsistent when a band like Fuel is apparently in there too, but I don't think Fuel should be there either, for the same reasons.
  19. Got a gift card and decided to spend it on some synthwave... Chromatics - Kill for Love Scandroid - Scandroid Dynatron - Origins Dan Terminus - Last Call for All Passengers Tommy '86 - Transhumanism and one other: Smoking Snakes - Danger Zone
