  1. Fair point. I do think ADV is overexposed and that always runs the risk of backlash. Also I think the majority of "hate" to ADV is just meme-like good fun / taking the piss. It is one of those arguments where everyone is right and everyone is also wrong. Me, I will keep buying Frontiers and I will also groan and take the piss when I see ADV is involved.
  2. I guess I am a Sweet die-hard, but even wearing that title proudly I am hesitant about thus one. Might leave it until I see it going cheap.
  3. Damn I saw that album relatively cheap but passed over it as based on it being on Nuclear Blast and the album cover image I thought it would be all cookie monster or metalcore shit. It's not bad at all.

  5. Nope I am late to the party. Could be metal album of the year I think.
  6. Hanoi Rocks - Oriental Beat (40th Anniversary Re(al) Mix) Tesla - Forever More Sleep Token - Take Me Back to Eden Dinosaur Jr. - Without a Sound Lemonheads - Car Button Cloth Lemonheads - Come on Feel Warren Zevon - Excitable Boy
  7. That hurts the artist as much as the label. I get being mad at a label but I am not mad at the artists who are just trying to make a living in a tough marketplace these days.
  8. Stock Aitken & Waterman were the famous music producers/writers in Britain during the 80s & 90s who foisted manufactured pop onto us all by the bucketload. Made stars out of people like Kylie Minouge and Jason Donovan. About 90% of their stuff was throwaway and sounded very similar. A bit like ADV and Frontiers. I understand the comparison EnJayKay was making.
  9. Magic Dance - New Eyes Junkyard - Old Habits Die Hard Iggy Pop - Every Loser Dead Letter Circus - The Catalyst Fire Dead Letter Circus - The Endless Mile Dead Letter Circus - Aesthesis Morrissey - Greatest Hits
  10. Not your typical covers and show a thorough appreciation for the genre.
  11. From: Geoff Date: February 10, 2010 at 20:14 YUCK! YUUUUCCCKKK!!! Sorry guys, just hated this. I got this and the debut at the same time and I have to admit I thought the debut was pretty decent. A lot of fillers, but some good tracks too. This, however, I just thought was horrible. I'll admit I didn't give it more than a couple of spins, but that's two more than it deserved. Boring, hookless AOR, imo. A more obscure band but had to resurrect this thread after reading the review. Needless to say I let this cheap CD go to the keeper after reading this.
  12. Fair Warning - Rainmaker Trixter - Human Era Six by Six - Six by Six Steven Wilson - Harmony Codex Morrissey - World of Morrissey
  13. It is hard isn't it? It is a fine line to tread as a fan and a serious reviewer. Like the Sleaze Roxx guy, he also hates bagging out bands. I understand it tbh.
  14. If it is near the first 2 albums then it is definitely worth having on my radar. Thanks for the heads up.
  15. Roadstar - Grand Hotel (Japan) Treat - Scratch & Bite (HR/HM Reissue) Whitesnake - Saints & Sinners (Remaster) Richard Wright - Wet Dream (Remaster) Lana Del Rel - Born to Die (Deluxe) Various - Rockart: the History of Rooart Records
  16. Lions Pride seem like a decent label releasing good stuff.
  17. Nitrate - Feel the Heat (Japan) Zan Clan - We are Zan Clan, Who the F*** are You? Wildside - Formerly Known as Young Gunns Angel - Once Upon a Time Urge Overkill - Saturation Urge Overkill - Exit the Dragon
  18. I dunno man, I'm on team Chez. Probably cause of her behind.
  19. Rarer catalogue albums from popular artists can fetch a pretty penny on eBay. You know a big artist who had an album that sold poorly so there aren't many copies about. Now those albums can be worth quite a bit. Anything Australian from the 80s sells quite a lot locally. Bands like Uncanny X Men, Painters and Dockers, Models. That second and third tier acts that maybe didn't press many cds. I have seen a Brian Mannix cd go for over $3000 on ebay.
  20. Someone must have hated the Casanovas album something fierce! 😄
