This album did not age well at all. Another Frontiers one-off that sounded exciting at first but had little staying power. Glen had it right...

50 Greatest AOR albums of All Time (article)
Eric3 replied to auslander's topic in AOR and Hard Rock
Right? I don't know what my top 50 would look like but I sure wouldn't have three Journey albums in the top 10... -
I think that one's my favorite.

First time listening through. I'm digging it. I liked all of the songs except Rock Bottom. We'll see how they hold up. What stood out to me about their debut was how they nailed the '80s sound without it sounding overproduced. More of the same here, thankfully! The singer really reminds me of someone from one of the semi-obscure '80s classics but I can't put my finger on it... Solid start to the year!
-
I'd also like to point out that not featuring the drummer makes both of those videos look stupid as hell. I know this project was only put together for the sake of getting Dean to sing more but come on.

Thanks for sharing that. He gave great answers to those questions. Seems like a humble, down to earth dude. -

50 Greatest AOR albums of All Time (article)

1-10 are predictable as all get out but yeah, I'm happy to see bands like Diving For Pearls, Dare, FM, and Aviator get their due. But damn it, am I the only person who likes the second Storm album more than the debut? -
Highly, HIGHLY anticipating this one.
-
Sounds pretty good. Their last album was better than their first IMO although I don't find myself listening to it very often apart from a couple songs.
-
I stumbled upon this song recently too, it's addicting!
-
Man, he makes that sound easy. What a voice this dude has. The drummer almost stole the show in this video, though
-
That's a really good song and it channels the 80s beautifully.
-
Great song!
-
Yeah for sure. I loved their last EP. The vocals have mellowed out a lot but still sound great.
-
You should REALLY listen to their last three albums. Their new drummer, Eloy Casagrande, is a BEAST and it's worth listening for him alone. It's not 100% thrash like their 80s material but much closer than A-Lex or Against - and much higher quality IMO.

https://www.sepultura.com.br/post/farewell-tour Not sure how many metalheads we have here but this is a tough one for me. Sepultura single-handedly got me into the more extreme side of metal and you can bet your ass I'm going to see them one more time, when they finally announce the US tour dates of course.

Does it still count as a cover if they change the lyrics and tune it down? In any case, Robin Beck did it better... -
My thoughts exactly. I don't know of this band but I'm going to check this out based solely on the song choices.
-
This is still the best song they've ever done IMO
-
Hmm, this may not be as good as their previous two albums. Not bad but not a lot grabbed me upon first listen.
-
Me too. I was big on them in my early 20s but there are only a few albums of theirs that have really stuck with me since then. Their last really good one was 2013's self-titled IMO. Also, James LaBrie's voice has really deteriorated in recent years. He was always hit-or-miss live but it's been mostly miss their last couple of tours. DT is not DT without him but I do wonder what they'd be able to accomplish with a different singer.
