  1. Decided to move the blossoming Jellyfish conversation out of the "what cd's" thread and start up their own lil' thread. Nick is certainly the Jellies expert here. I have dug them for ages and have been loving the 2 major label releases Bellybutton and Spilt Milk, I also have the VHS they released and a long play cd single called "The Ghost At Number One". It is a 2 disc set with the single TGA#1, All Is Forgiven, Worthless Heart and Ignorance Is Bliss (The second disc, which is a carboard one, apparently some special buying event had to happen to get the 2nd one, has the same track 1 & 2, but then has Watch The Rain and Family Tree. Anywho here are a couple a video's to help spread the Jelly love to you all... My fave: That Is Why Nick's fave: I Wanna Stay Home The also great:The King Is Half Undressed And those are just from BB... Here is a cut from Imperial Drag: And now I turn the stage over to Nick and his Jellyfish knowledge.
  2. What a GREAT band the Jellies were/are! Nice add. On topic: Wind Wraith-Minions Of Metal (Battle Cry Records Germany 2006) Steel Fury-Lesser Of Two Evils (New Renaissance 2006 #677) Thanks Terry, I like it a lot. Very Queen influenced. Wasn't this album in the H.H. database? I don't know if they are in the DB are not, but if you don't have it already now go get Bellybutton, "That Is Why" is such an amazing tune... and of course as Nick knows I'm sure Jellyfish have released a bunch of stuff outside the USA. Oh and some of the Jellies went on to record some stuff as Imperial Drag. Which is similarly good.

  4. Sorry my man, I truly am a dork! (And a poor spellerer.)
  5. Amen to that! Amen. That movie is so well written... Saw "Get Him To The Greek" Pretty flippin funny and Russel Brand plays a great doped up rock star and the songs in the movie are too damn funny!
  6. I remember T-Bone used to post hours of "cover" stuff, I bet he knows quite a few... I liked that Cee Lo Green "Fuck You" video that got posted up a bit back. Can't recall the band, but I remember Geoff disliked the other cover songs they did. Some band that got a new singer I remember that. Might have been Crash Diet... BUt as CH and others said I enjoy a good cover. I have noticed that a good number of those Blink, Green day, Reel Big Fish styled bands do a shit load of cover songs.
  7. To pull back a bit on my first comment, I was listening to Enuff Z Nuff's Animals with Human Intelligence and be damned if I'd forgotten how much I like this one. Guess I am going to have to go aginsdt my inner karaoke machine and start playing the staples again...
  8. I'd like to get the booklet and box. I found the discs for cheap so I picked them up, but no box or book... If i come across the box & book, i will grab it for you!
  9. I have an e-mail out to Mr. Hard hopefully a solution will be soon.
  10. I LOVE seeing posts like that. Reminds me of the good ole days when James and I bought every cd in Seattle!

  12. Just got this video sent to me from Rock Hard and wish I could have been there, the boys are sounding and looking really good!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQVtCIK79Hk&feature=player_embedded Don't forget to pop over to the bands website or one of these other places and pick this disc up! It is a lot of fun, the tunes rock hard (no pun intended) and let's give prop's and a few sheckles to keep the younger generation (s) making quality tunes like these. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/seks1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004YZR6J0/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=1278548962&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B004YTNAA0&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=00A1Q44WA4Q578SG4E0Z http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/harder-than-you/id435519659 http://www.seksband.com
  13. Awesome cd, not as good as Dangerous Attraction IMO, but still awesome stuff from Kal and Doug and the boys. I wish they'd find time to do another Lion or even a Bad Moon Rising disc. I like them both pretty much equally with Dangerous Attraction being much better produced, excellent sound. I don't understand why the whole Doug & Kal duo ended. Did I read right that Kal kind of became freaked out and just shunned the whole record business? Sucks so bad...BMR was just flat out awesome! I loved their last release Opium. Kal's original Pre-Lion NWOBHM band TYTAN is supposedly doing a reunion this summer with a tour and maybe new music. I've read some recent interviews with Doug that says he talks to Kal and he's come to Snake shows in the UK over the last few years but that there's no talk to another album together but he does want to do the 3rd Burning Rain disc but hasn't had time since he joined Snake. All 3 of those LIon discs are SCREAMING/BEGGING for a re-issue!!!!! The first two are ridiculously priced on Ebay, and few and far inbetween. Their last release is still reasonable. How about their last two re-released as a 2 cd set with left over tracks & a live show! Oh I know I've been hunting them down, on the cheap of course, for ever and a day and in my travels I have held only the 3rd disc, but passed on it. Dangerous Attraction is still my fave of the 3 even though the first has an equally cool, if slightly different version of my favorite track Powerlove! Yea, J why not put out a 3 or 4 disc set, the 2 full lengths and the EP with a grip of extras on it? I'd pick it up reasonably priced of course. Wonder if there is some sort of taboo lock/ copywrite issue with re-releasing these? On topic: got 2 vinyls today: NW Metal Fest & TKO-Let It Roll (BAND SIGNED!!!!!!!!!!!!)

  15. I do that with a lot of my "favorites". I'll reach for a disc, say Skid Row's Slave To The Grind and turn in my hands quickly play the tunes in my head and then put it back and look for something else...
  16. Backed! Stefan can you get this one?
  17. "Pissing on fires makes your pubes smell like smoke." Classic!
  18. Dread Zep where a obviously 70's or Led Zep influenced group. The Metal Elvis band you mentioned obviiously pulls their influences from the 80's. True about the reggae infussed covers, but they still bounced around abit from a Zep tune to an EP tune to a Burning Spear tune, its just a bit more suttle and certainly not as obvious to most, especially if you are not deep into reggae. As far as mashing stuff together it's time to revisit the DZ stuff. Example Heartbreaker/Heartbreak Hotel. Black Dog/Hound Dog+: Just saying and I dig the Metal Elvis btw! And as the Rock Sugar goes, not in the least a parady, but an appreciation interpretation of the original(s). Done really flippin' well too!
  19. Need to check prices, but Geffen re-issued the S/T and Sixes and Sevens recently in that "Goldline" series... Sure thing Jared it is yours pal! Probably my favorite Junkyard cut, but as mentioned earlier, this band is solid through and through. Hands Off! Hands Off live 1989: Here is the S/T on Evilbay and its the Jap verion with "Halleluah I love Her So" as a bonus track! http://cgi.ebay.com/JUNKYARD-s-t-JPN-CD-BIG-BOYS-MINOR-THREAT-/270753387703?pt=Music_CDs&hash=item3f0a28d4b7 And through the band you can get Joker and XXX and Put It On Ten. I thought we threaded this before and someone bought these to verify if they were cdr's or not? http://www.junkyardblooze.com/store.html#
  20. So so funny seeing stuff like this. As mentioned so "un-metal", but I guess I see the demographic push. I've seen the Honda van commercial that has "Electric Eye" playing in it and I'm trying to remember, but I think there is a Walmart commercial that has Twisted Sisters "Were NOt Gonna Take It" playing in the background. Look boys we are middle America's product demographic! IMHO Durbin did not sound half bad, kind of cool this generation appreciating this genre of music, but then again, maybe its a ploy to get our votes and to get us watching these "shows". Just saying. Oh and I'm with Keith, that new guy is dead ringer for KK, I do like through "Living After Midnight" how the camera didn't touch him...
  21. Lonnie...Ehh...that's a name I haven't heard in a while! Yea I guess I should have not mentioned the name, I am sure many people are still burning up inside over his shenanigans... On topic: Just spun that Tried But True EP and be damned if it isn't awesome and appears to be getting a bit pricey... Big thanks again to Gary for hooking me up with this one a long while back.
  22. Dread Zeppelin for the 80's generation perhaps...
  23. You can't go wrong with ANY Junkyard releases. Sixes and Sevens holds up to the S/T, which is in fact quintescential! If you like "All THe Time In THe World" you will like em all. The Shut Up We're Trying To Practice is a nice live release and Tried But True is a neat lil' EP. If you can locate the 2 guitarist released compilations, I think they are called Joker and Aces or something like that. These have some good tunes and some alt takes. BE FOREWARNED: that these releases are heavily booted and I think even the originals were artist made cdr's and then as rumor is told the member of the band selling these pulled a Lonnie and took the money and ran...
  24. So I just finished Cell by Steve King and the book was quite good til the end... Why must we ubruptly stop with no closure, no anything? Frustrating. This book took a good swath of pages setting up characters and then out of know where the book is done? Could have easily went another 500 pages ala The Stand. CUrrently reading Horns by Joe Hill. Starting off well and the tale telling is quite good. Let's hop he doesn't pooch it at the end like so many others of late.
  25. Dennis Hopper wishes you an awesome PBR B-Day!
