  1. I reached out to them via Reverbnation, no return reply yet. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  2. Agreed. I have 3 releases by them and yes they are "modern", but I like it...
  3. Awww c'mon. Just imagine what the "Chance" or "Community Chest" cards could look like... "Tour Bus Crash Kills Bass Player -- Go Back 3 Spaces" "You're kicked out of band! Pay $25 for bus ticket back to California, plot your revenge the whole way" "GO TO REHAB. Go Directly to Rehab. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200." ...and of course, the angry looking guy behind bars on the "JAIL" space would be Dave Mustaine. Yes, I'm cruel. Yea if you/we made up the game using Metallica trivia then it might play well, but you know it won't be that damn fun (ny). Nicely played by the way my friend.
  4. I just read on another board that Rich did not write any material for this! That it was all done by the time he came on board and now he is just learning the songs. Too bad the Duke is stud pure and simple.
  5. Well let me first say that I can feel the love ebbing from my little laptop. Your comments and opinions are obviously of importance to me or I would not have asked. So again THANKS GUYS! I wish you all were my neighbors so's we could have a few frsy cold libations and really "discuss" this. That said, during the day and as I began reading your comments I was on the same plane as DP. If it had been a "personal" reach out then I might fell different you know. I mean the man has had 6 years to "man" up and try to be a caring, selfless individual, but it ain't happened. However after reading the remaining comments I believe I just might have to go and show the SOB that I am a better person than he will ever be, not that that would matter to him, selfish people hav a way of making everything about them and this in turn makes everyone else of no importance, but as you all have mentioned nothing lost nothing gained. Just a little gas and some awkward face time right? I am going to have my wife call the hospital and check to see if he is still there and such and then I will have a pint of Ben And Jerry's and think about this a bit more. One thing that is still a rub for me and I may have not mentioned it is up until 6 years ago I was still taking it on the chin, bending over backwards and making huge sacrifices and comprimises just to "share" my life with him and as I mentioned finally grew a spine and said, as Cee Lo Green would say "Forget You!" Sorry a little levity. Or as I like to refer to it my Chandler Bing guide to life, using comedy/sarcasm as a buffer from the "real" world... Anyway, again I can't thank you guys enough for stepping up and trying to imagine what a guy like me should do in his not so pleasant current situation. Terry
  6. So, long story long and to try and be detailed but not start a pity party, I am having a bit of a dilema with something family oriented. Here goes: Yesterday around supper time I got this random call from one of my Fathers old girlfriends. She was "searching" me out to tell me my Dad was in the hospital, apparently "recouperating" from a colonostomy (I think that is the right terminology.) She mentioned that he has/had some very aggressive cancer in his colon, had surgery to "try" and remove it on last Thursday and that he was to have been released on Monday, but some "complication" has kept him there. He is "supposedly" in tears, scared, et al and "she has never seen him cry like that." Sounds like soft tissue cancer is a bithc and once it's set in even the extensive Chemo he is going to be receiving will be hard pressed to be successful. I know so sad, etc, etc, etc... Here is were the problem lies; I have not spoken with my Father in at least 6 years! Very LONG story as to the why's, but lets just say he is prick and the descriptor of "abusive" is a good description of my childhood and young adult life. AGAIN; no pity party invitations here, just the facts, I have come to grips with a lot of those old demons and have been OK with my decision (s) for seperation from the source of the problem for a long time. She said she was reaching out to me, but my Dad was unaware of her efforts, so it doesn't appear that he is on his "death bed" asking for his son to come and ease the pains of his troubled soul. SOOO, of course being a somewhat "good" person, I can't help but wonder if I should go see him? I am truly on the fence about the whole thing. Half of me is saying "couldn't happen to a nicer guy" and then the other half is still glass half full and is saying "maybe this is his wake up call and now he will be abetter person and we might have a shot of starting over?" I mean, I was sure a call like this would come at some point, but never really thought about what I'd do. Anywho, just curious as to what the HH family would have to say about the little problem that is wrestling around in bean last night and this morning. Thanks in advance for the opinions/advice and I hope I did not come of like a heartless SOB, but I guess to truly understand I would need to type a lot more or you would have had too have been there. Which I would not have wished upon even my worst enemy. Thanks for reading/digesting my diatribe. Terry
  7. That sound would be a total waste of the Duke and as CH points out Orlando is a technical shredder to the nth degree. Let us hope Mr. Trains pals are incorrect. Anyone making out next week to the show in NY to verify?
  8. "It's the end of the world as we know it..." C'mon Keith that is pretty lame, but than again Metallica is turning into Kiss...
  9. Looks like another "supergroup" in the making in Adrenaline Mob. And for pity sake who doesn't love The Duke! News blurb: Former DREAM THEATER and AVENGED SEVENFOLD drummer Mike Portnoy has announced his new project as the ADRENALINE MOB. The new band features SYMPHONY X singer Russell Allen, guitarist Rich Ward (STUCK MOJO, FOZZY), guitarist Mike Orlando and bassist Paul DiLeo (NENA). The band's intimate live debut is confirmed for June 24th at The Hiro Ballroom in New York City. According to a band update, Adrenaline Mob "will be playing a sneak preview of songs from their upcoming debut album as well as a few classic covers!" Very limited tickets available now at this location. Man wish I was back East I'd surely try to get in on this show!!
  10. Ion Vein-Reigning Memories (2003 Majesphere) This is some great metal! Rudy Wild-Losing You (2 song cd single 1991 on Platinum Records) Anyone know this guy? Pretty good tune.
  11. I have never been a trend follower so seeing EVERYONE tattoo-ed kind of makes it feel to me that I am "normal" or part of some click you know. I'm not special... And don't get me wrong, I LOVE my sleeve and if my wife would allow I'd get another and a full back piece (definately the full back peice first), but I am done with the one sleeve and again no regrets, love every dot, I just wish tat's weren't so standard. And to re-emphasize my statement about "wishing I'd never gotten any", just refers tatt's being damn trendy... And to echo J and CH. Definately OVERTHINK what it is you are getting done, WHERE it will live and WHERE you are getting the work done!!! I made a HUGE leap when I got tatted below the "t-shirt" line so now the only way to go incognito is with a long sleeve shirt. Definately go to someone reputable if you go. An easy way to do that is ask some friends or the waiter at the Red Robin who has that killer tattoo who does their work. Clean, clean, clean is the word of the day when it comes to shops and how they practice the art of tattooing. One thing that I still get a kick out of daily is random folks stopping me to say how cool my sleeve is or "ooohh I just LOVE your tattoo's!"
  12. I wouldn't get any if I could do it again and this comes from a guy with a sleeve of original stuff concocted with the help of an amazing tattoo artist. Stuff that has tons of meaning to me and stuff I still love today almost 20 years after the first one. Tattoos are just so prevelent these days that there really isn't a point. Not having one, I think is WAY cooler than having one. and they are pricey for quality stuff. Expect to pay $100.00 an hour, unless you know someone and they are doing a lot of work on you then the deals start coming in. My last tattoo, about 2 hours worth of time and materials was a freebie. But that is after about $1,000 worth of work prior. I will add that for me the act of getting "tattoo-ed" is very addictive. That feeling/pain associated with getting drilled is euphoric. And speaking of pain, don't believe anyones BS about tattoo's not hurting, THEY DO! But it is a GOOD hurt if you catch my drift.
  13. Still great stuff! Glad your still churning out tunes.
  14. Haha and my comment was not a slag on wrestling as I have been a fan of the product for almost 30 years. I figured as much, but I can't help doing the Arquette line from Ready To Rumble whenever possible.
  15. Just puked a little in my mouth watching The Karate Kid (the new version). What a shame to take a great movie with loads of charactor and just sterilize it.
  16. Nice! Really great find!
  17. And Bingo was his name Oh. "WRESTLINGS NOT FAKE!!!"
  18. Almost feels like a rouse to get some more folks watching the season of Family Jewels? Not saying Gene more than likely hasn't nailed a bevy of broads over the past years, months, weeks, but... who knows, maybe Shannon will pull a Hogan and start dating one of Nick's pals? Or maybe now that all the kids are old enough they finally can let the facade of happiness crumble and go about their midlife's.
  19. Good work! On the subject of thrash revival, check out these fellas: Hollow Sin Myspace Songs sound great imo. Now sadly split up, but the EP sounds really good (look for Hollow Sin - Neuromancy). That band is great, too bad about the break up. Another band to add to the list... Thanks for the referral.
  20. My pleasure gents. Going through a little thrash revisitation right now so the search is on for new blood...
  21. Dude that's like a Phil Hendrie joke right there!(all knowing who that is)Who the fuck are these jerk offs? I say it's time for a flame campaign? anyone down to go meet up somewhere else and we can discuss a little fun with these jack offs that treat people like their fucking retards? duh we never claimed it was silver pressed, well we will just have to order a bunch of Cd's and then send them back bitching that they aren't silver pressed, come on you guys, if we all do it, and have people we know do it, then what will they say when there's like a thousand of these fuckers ordered and returned because there not silver pressed? I'm down, i will spend the money, and I will do it with a big shit eating grin on my ugly Irish face, any one down to do the pound with me? I believeI mentioned this earlier, but I am in like Flynn as the kid's say!
  22. That darn Facebook. Curses. Well at least we know he's "out there".
  23. So I got my car back and it still "performs" the way it did prior to the accident and honestly the frickin' rig scares the poo out of me to drive at highway speeds. Last week it tried very hard to do the exact same thing, but fortunately I keeped it, somehow, from doing it. The Toyota dealership and corperate to this point say there is "nothing" wrong with the car. I've had a grip of people drive it and they all say that. WHich I don't get it is BRUTALLY OBVIOUS that the car has a mind of it's own. I have another call into Toyota of America to furthur discuss the issue. But either way the car is being sold. I just need to figure out what we can get into and feel good about it and still have some $$$$$ left over. The car books for +/- $15,000, we owe about $7,000, so I am currently looking in that $5,000-$7,000 price point for my next/new rig. Occording to a ruling from the federal government handed out in May the "investigation" into the MANY complaints about this issue, they concluded that the steering was OK. That it was "driver preference" and not a "mechanical issue". That first quote kills me, well almost did anyway. Driver preference?! Driver preference to have control over a vehicle...look man that's weird. Oh and lastly, I have my court date later this month for my ticket, we will see how that goes... Thanks again to the HH brethren for their well wishes and comments. More to come I'm sure.
  24. Looks like us Westerners are fuckarood again...
