    Peepshow

It does indeed. but the new album sounds exactly like Crashdiet to me. Which is no bad thing Yeah, I think they are similar. Sounds like they have the songs, which is the most important thing. Definitely in my want list. In all honesty I like this more than Crashdiet. Granted that wouldn't be hard, but this sounds pretty decent to me.
  2. could be the catchiest track this year Just for once today, I'm going to agree with you.
  3. EXACTLY. Not only are the songs brilliantly written but the album SONICALLY sounds insane. Maybe some listen through crap stereo systems but when you listen to this properly it sounds incredible. On top of that the lyrics, the melodies, is just off the hook! I totally agree that this will become a CLASSIC. the band is just now starting to break out....getting on tours with bands like AMARANTHE, and SABATON who are huge in Europe. This will gain them a ton of new attention. I live in Europe and I've never heard of those "huge" bands. On a side note you should check out their last album - you would probably love it. Just saying........... Amaranthe that is......... Will do. They don't sound like Dynazty do they?

This will gain them a ton of new attention. You guys are entertaining if nothing else. Using words like classic to describe this cliched hook-less drivel. I live in Europe and I've never heard of those "huge" bands. Perhaps you're right about then getting some new attention. But, having heard them I can assure you that it won't be good attention. They're not going to be Steel Panther or Reckless Love, that's for damn sure. They simply aren't good enough. It's not your stereo that's the problem, it's all that wax in your ears. WRONG WRONG WRONG mate. sorry. First of all we dont live in Europe we live in the bloody UK. Get used to it. Those bands are pretty big on the 'continent' so props to the band for scoring in those areas. Also to say this album is hook-less? Are you insane? Every song has a huge hook, and ive got no wax in my ears. Lastly, from what ive heard this is a GREAT live band with a killer singer, who can actually sing live....dont get me started on all the non-performers ive seen over the last few years, so called 'greats'...bands and singers who just cant back it up in the live arena. Yeah, I'm not sure what he is listening to either. You sure you have the right album in? Very harsh comments... I like the melodic stuff but find the rest so generic. I honestly don't care if they're good live or not, I just wish they'd write more of the melodic stuff as the rest has been done a zillion times before IMO.
  5. be interested to hear what this is like....thought the debut was great, but that first single had me worried....sounded like a step backwards to me Yeah, I want to check it out too. Like the debut, I'm sure half will be average and all the ballads and mid-tempo tunes will be great. Just my guess. Only span 3/4's of it, a couple of outright killers but a few duffers too (like the last Adelitas Way). Will spin properly tonight...
  6. Didn't you like the last one? This one's punchier IMO, better produced too. Fewer ballad-type songs as well, but they still do those songs well...

    Tyketto

That sounds about the best song too...

  9. STATEMENT - "One for the Money" (cd-r) I want this.
  10. Yeah I'm not excited by that one either. Even "No One Does It Better" is a little short of a great hook, and it's the best song. First single "Loverboy" was shite. A few nice heavier moments but otherwise not worth bothering with.
  11. ROMEO'S DAUGHTER - Repture A try-before-you-buy...
  12. From the clips I've heard from both albums then I'll be getting the Trixter and not the Tyketto. Trixter seem to me to have made the shift from their old sound to a modern style pretty well, and there sound like some great tunes on it. The Tyketto sounds patchy to me, and they kinda sound like b-sides from their earlier stuff...
  13. As usual I tend to agree with your pics. Plus I agree about "Follow Me" and "Everybody Wants to be Someone" being 10/10. I would add SHY - "Over You" and TOBY HITCHCOCK - "How to Stop", and remove stuff like The Poodles/Crashdiet (stuff I hate). How To Stop from Toby Hitchcock was in my top 10 for sure last year. I know you don't, but I like the glam stuff like The Poodles, Wig Wam, Chris Laney and Crashdiet. IMO most Crashdiet songs destroy anything in Z's list....esp How To Stop, but then we've been there and done this discussion (very recently I believe), so I wont dwell on this point. We all seem to love different songs these days........ All I will say is the 4 songs I mentioned above plus probably 'Living On The Run' are all at least 9.5/10 maybe higher with repeated listens...... Cheers Yeah, 'Generation Wild' is a banquet of killer tunes. You guys all really need to hear the new Peep Show disc - that includes you, Dave. They're pretty much giving it away here: http://www.peepshowonline.co.uk/peepshow-store/music/detail/7-music/flypage/128-london-gig-ticket-a-free-album-?sef=hcfp Especially if you buy their pretty solid sleaze debut to score free shipping. Crashdiet suck IMO. I didn't like any of it, and is not my thing at all...
  14. You were right to pass on the Tyketto. I think this will turn out to be a good one...

  16. Gosh you surprise me sometimes! I'd have never guessed it. What do you think of this disc? Did you hear before buying? I just got it the other day too. Best CD so far from these guys, imo. Pretty impressive. Yeah I quite like their sound, kinda punky pop-rock but with a different edge (and harsher vocals). I've got their last album (think is called "Hometown" or something) but this one's much better on first listen. Nice stuff.
  17. In response to Glen's post, I do think one or two of these songs have great hooks/melodies but aren't quite winners all the way through. Like "Better Off Alone", which has an amazing pre-chorus and then the chorus is not quite as awesome. But this is being very picky on a mighty disc...
  19. TREAT - Organised Crime SKAGARACK - Hungry For A Game SOULFLY - Enslaved STAN MEISSNER - Undertow
  20. Backed on all of that, 100%. Just wish it had a big stand-out tune, but frankly that's just being very picky given the quality of this thing. Err, what are 'Better Off Alone', 'Falling Down', 'Heartbreaker', 'Need Her'.....all nigh on 10/10 classics for me. God you 2 are being a bit harsh saying there's no stand-out tune???! I doubt you will hear better songs all year?? I like all the above songs, and they might the best songs I hear all year, but 10/10?! No chance. The two previous albums were probably less consistent but had one big standout song on each. This one is more consistent but doesn't have a 10/10 song IMO.
  21. Well slap my balls! Someone else finally gave this one a go! Aside from Nightrain and Justin. Love that disc. Spinning: Peep Show - 'Out for blood' Peep Show - 'Brand new breed' ; well slap my balls! This sounds amazing. Only 6 songs in, but if you loved 'Generation wild' this is utterly essential. Stunning production, monster balls too. So impressed so far. Yeah I love the Trust Company too, had mine for a while just probably don't like it quite as much as you do. Even I like the PEEP SHOW disc, nice stuff...
