  1. I was gonna wait for someone to inevitably post this one, then I thought fuck it. Here's a killer example of something very unexpected.
  2. Here's 3. The pick of the bunch is "Jimmy Nail - Ain't No Doubt" from '92. A killer track from a very unlikely source. Only the Brits will know the reference, but we used to get "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" on TV down here. To then see Jimmy Nail releasing this was mind blowing. I almost forgot, when it comes to the first clip, one thing springs to mind. "I'M RICK JAMES BITCH!" When it comes to the second clip, two things spring to mind.
  3. That's good stuff. I love Rick Altzi, but I missed this band. Anymore info?
  4. A classic Aussie track for Australia Day.
  5. I'm in a "Lionsheart" mood now. This is another cracker.
  6. Nice one mate. One of my alltime favourites. KILLER TRACK!!! My initials also happen to be DG. Don't worry though, my portrait is securely locked away.
  7. I think it may be a generational thing, whichever the way the pendulum swings. In the past the new music of the "kids" was always more popular than the "Golden Oldies". The worm seems to have turned. I reckon in times to come, the "new" music now, will become the "old" music that's more popular than the "new" music of the time. Rinse and repeat until the pendulum swings again.
  8. Not songs today, but two scenes from two Killer movies. One featuring Will Smith as "Lou". Another featuring Robert De Niro as "Louis"
  9. Okay Dan, are you saying the completed 2021 best of lists won't be released until we guess this... ...or is this a stalling tactic?
  10. With all the recent talk about Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs), I think this one qualifies. Released not too long before the pandemic. It's quite prophetic. The lyrics fit, not to mention the pale horse in the thumbnail and other symbolic Easter eggs.
  11. Barbarion - My Rock. I've posted this killer Aussie track previously and it should've been one of my first posts here. This video has everything and the track itself is an Anthem for us all. The video does have a certain "Steel Panther - Death To All But Metal" vibe.
  12. Yeah, I think you may be right mate, it's too broad, so I've decided to make this (my) thread exclusively Australian. Something like "Aussie Pop Songs You May Not know". Including the 80s, 90s and 70s. Of course, all the Aussies here will know these tracks, but I'm always interested to know If these tracks are known overseas. Here's a great Aussie track from the late 90s.
  13. I can't say that I remember either one, but just checking and apparently "Shock 'em Dead" stars "Traci Lords", so I need to check it out. Surprised I missed it actually. BTW, I googled some recent images of her and I'd still give her one. In fact "Traci Lords" is one of those celebrities, where because of her past glories, is bangable at any age... ... and I'm not ruling out necrophilia. I'd draw the line at skeletal remains though. I'm not a weirdo.
  14. Yeah, a great track, but it still gets (deservedly) a decent amount of radio airplay.
  15. Basically, any iconic, memorable 80s track (more along the Pop lines) that we don't hear very often these days. As for the change, don't question it, just accept it.
  16. Rather than focusing on "obscure Aussie 80s tracks", I've decided to turn this into an "obscure general 80s tracks" thread. After all, it's my thread now, so I can make the rules. These two magnificent tracks don't get anywhere near the recognition they deserve. Pure 80s.
  17. Aztec Camera - Somewhere In My Heart. Not an Aussie track, but an obscure 80s one nonetheless and it shouldn't be. This track sort of fell through the cracks. It should be popping up on classic radio stations, but it isn't. It's a shame. I really love this one.

    Titties

Yeah, 100% pure quality. It's a phrase I've used before, but definitely two of the best in the business.
  19. This nice new "Trick or Treat" retrospective popped up today. What a time machine movie that is for most of us. I was never really a "Fastway" fan, but I do love that soundtrack. Sentimental reasons I guess. This video reminded me of "Black Roses". Not as good of a movie, a bit cheesy, but it features "King Kobra" and "Lizzy Borden", so you can't argue with that. The two "King Kobra" tracks featured in the first "Black Roses" clip, are a perfect example of why I love this music.
  20. Yeah, I remember both. Not a fan. I hated Ratcat.
  21. Nice one mate. I mentioned my three favourite tracks from these guys earlier in the thread. This wasn't one of them, but great reference. Is there anything you don't know?
  22. A track from "U2" and a track from "Guns N' Roses" that have a common, dark link. Chuck didn't get it.
  23. That's why MY thread is about obscure Aussie stuff. It's mine now.

    Corona

I don't know what the fuck is going on. Australia was the very last Country I would've expected to go down this Authoritarian road.
