  1. I heard Wrong Side Of Heaven and really got into it. I've just started to look into them more and some of their stuff it great.
  2. My favorite Poison CD I'm not a huge fan of his voice. I think it gets a bit monotone sounding if you listen to a CD from start to end. But I have found some really great tracks he's done.
  3. I find his stuff is generally ordinary, but usually with a couple of gems on each CD. For instance of Into The Black we have You Can't Save Me and My Angel
  4. I really like most of Kotzen's stuff. Thought the first WD album was ok. The song above probably has too much going on for me. I like the tempo changes and hooks though. Still listening in to it now and the guitar really annoys me I think. Hate the tone.
  5. There seems to be a bit of a thing going with the % rating system. From what I've read the main issue looks like it's the near impossible gap between say a 90% and 100% I could list probably 40 or 50 albums which I'd rate between 9/10 and 10/10 The whole 100% thing throws me off though because even at the time when I have an album I can't stop listening to, there are always things that could be better You could even say that a great album needs songs that are "only OK" to allow the others to shine more. For instance on Hysteria I'd give Don't Shoot Shotgun and Run Riot a 7/10, Excitable a 6/10 and Gods Of War an 8/10. The rest would all be 9 or 10's The whole album is probably a 10 for me. Same with Harem Scarem S/T Album would be a 10, but I wouldn't rate Distant Memory, Love Reaction, All Over Again and Don't Give Your Heart Away as highly as the rest of the songs. Dr.Feelgood All amazing songs except for some which couple have been replaced with better songs - Slice Of Your Pie, Rattlesnake Shake and Sticky Sweet. I'm sure some here love the songs that aren't my favorites and probably can name their own songs they don't like as much as others from those albums. Also, over time you're tastes change a bit. I listen to some albums I used to love and wonder why I held them in such high regard. Still good, but maybe haven't dated well. I used to hate God Of Thunder, and over many many years somehow now like it a lot
  6. Great list. Never really took to Queensryche Good call on Ratt, but not sure that best of's qualify. I don't have many songs outside that CD that I really like though. Maybe Looking For Love. Never heard of Brother Firetribe... Everything else would be in a top 50 for me, but I'm not going to attempt that
  7. I agree on the album - I love it. For me Sad Theresa and Inside Out would be two of the best songs on the album, agree with Machine Gun though.
  8. Track wasn't bad. Easy to listen to and enjoy, which is a good start. I'll probably check out the album some time. The decent write up helps.
  9. Didn't take to Scream as much as the first track. Kind of has a lot of what bores me about WASP, which I suppose is the way Blackie sings and the general music style. Still more a bit more mainstream than recent stuff though, maybe it would grow on me...
  10. Art Of The Steal. Everyone who watched it with me loved it as well. Kurt Russell and Matt Dillon, Willem Dafoe and Terence Stamp all very good.
  11. I tried Final Frontier - The Second wave and at the time it came nowhere close to the awesomeness of The First Wave
  12. I remember that DWB album. I'm listening to the songs you posted and all I can think of is Giuffria. So I google and David Glen Eisley is in both bands, so I guess we know where the sound for both bands came from...
  13. haha, no problems there. From your list Harem Scarem and Skid Row would be the two that would be in my top 20 probably. In fact Harem Scarem was really hard to leave out of my 10. The rest of it was too AOR for me. Having said that, the Joey Tempest and Butch Walker albums on my list are very AOR, so go figure. Andy Taylor and Hot Action Cop are probably albums which most here wouldn't have heard. At the time Andy Taylor's Thunder came out it was very cool for me. Don't even know how I ended up with it, but it was great hard rock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blDUrOGXES4 He followed up with a covers album where most of the songs were better than the originals for me, which is hard to do. Especially Live Wire... (most will probably disagree, bit I'm not a big fan of AC/DC stuff after Bon) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ene3t4oOxow
  14. Fire In The Pouring Rain in my phone morning alarm song when I need it. Set to gradually get louder, it's a great way to wake up
  15. Here's mine, pretty much in order. This list changes over time as I am more drawn to different CD's 10... Butch Walker - The Spade Not going to be everyone's cup of tea. Fairly poppy almost 'Beatley' type album, but the songs are all great. 9… Sixx AM – The Heroin Diaries Biggest surprise of recent years. Took me quite a few listen to like, but it worked it's way into my head. 8… Bad City --- Welcome to the Wasteland Some killer songs on this. A gem amidst some average releases at the time. 7… Andy Taylor - Thunder Yep, the Duran Duran guitarist. Left the band and kicked major ass with this album. 6… Dangerous Toys - Pissed One of my favorite bands, for me this album kicks the two proceeding albums all over the place. The top of their game. 5… Joey Tempest - A Place To Call Home The singer from Europe's first solo CD and he'd obviously been storing up some great stuff that is a lot lighter and softer than his old bands. All of these are AOR (adult orientated rock) and easy to listen to. 4… Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood Only one or two tracks here which I can live without. every other one is awesome. Everything about this CD is great. 3… Love Cream - First Taste An Aussie band with some great track. Think Steel Panther but a bit less in your face parody and it works really well. 2… Loud & Clear - Disc Connected They released a few other albums, but they were average. This one however is just fantastic songs. Got very addicted to this one at the time. Still play it a lot. 1… Hot Action Cop - S/T Had a hit with 'Fever For The Flava' a few years ago, I was shocked to find that this was to become my all time favorite CD. Every song is awesome. Great lyrics tell great stories, music is melodic and technically spot on, produced perfectly.
  16. Yeah I know it kind of cheesy but I felt as a kid it was a song overlooked while everybody else talked about their hits like Christine Sixteen and Doctor Love, I loved that song Just recently I heard "All Canadian Man" by Miss Crazy. Kinda weird heard the lyrics changed like that but not a bad song. Would have preferred that they covered it and changed it more, otherwise what's the point? Probably one of those songs that do well in concert but not so well on an album. Not sure how well received the album "Paul Gilbert & Freddie Nelson - United States" was here, but I love this CD Wasted Time is one of the best songs. Also Paris Hilton Look Alike and I'm Not Addicted are great tracks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wW7YKHTzfgo
  17. I said "Go baby, you make me feel ah, ah, ah, ah yeah Oh, baby, you make me feel ah, ah, ah, ah yeah" How about Bad City - Touch Massively underrated album. Their first and last after the singer was apparently charged with sexual assault and kicked out of the band. This song has it all for me, hooks, great bridges, brilliant production, builds to a great crescendo at the end. One of 5 or 6 killer songs that I'd rank 9 to 10/10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbJhdGf584I
  18. Showed the kids Law Abiding Citizen as they saw the preview during out Final Destination week and were excited by the movie. They loved it - really is a great movie.
  19. Overlooked like the band has fairly widely been I suppose.
  20. That Rockhead song is damn good - I'm gonna check out more of their stuff Here's a more recent one The Poodles - The Greatest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvqarSnBQN8
  21. I tend to agree with Geoff, but every time I listen it grows on me. More subdued than the last one, but I'd call it a good album.
  22. Also a recent one is Wayland - Get A Little Thought it was a bit corny when I first heard it (kind of like the Wig Wam above) but after a few listens it imbedded itself in my brain and I was a bit addicted... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FgGQdublxU
  23. Gonna go with Wig Wam - Hard To Be A Rock And Roller Only thing the clip needs is bewbs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93QOLOkb7lk
  24. I don't mind it, but it sounds kind of dated. Which I suppose is what a lot of people want to hear. I guess this style of music doesn't excite me like it did 30 years ago...
