  1. Disaster Artist, expected more - only ok
  2. Didn't know Wraith but saw the comparison with Ratt, funny enough: googled ''Wraith Revelation'' and the guitarist wears a Ratt t-shirt in the band picture But other than that no connection between the two bands, right? Just thought it was funny because you said they sounded like Ratt, will have to check em out but underneath one of the pictures it said something about ''NWOBH''......
  3. The Room (2003) Saw this little treasure for the first time, had known about it for a few years but the latest hype surrounding the movie due to James Franco's Disaster Artis had me intrigued so I finally checked it out. I anticipated it to be hard to watch but not at all. I could see myself watching this again sometime
  4. Never really liked the album as a whole, some of the songs are very good (and the 2 ballads The Idol and Hold On To My Heart two of the band's absolute best!) but I could never listen to the album as a whole, just way too tedious and pretentious. Curious to hear the new songs though, they were recorded during the same time is that correct? Nothing against concept albums and I'm sure Blackie was very ambitious but I feel it didn't work here for some reason, and I've tried getting into this one for the last...... 11 or 12 years
  5. Watched Daddy's Home 2 and Bad Moms 2 while being snowed in in Birmingham, both not very good with Daddy's Home being slightly less bad. Would have preferred seeing Disaster Artist.....
  6. I did go, and what a great show it was!!!! Great performance, crowd interaction, good setlist with a couple surprises (loved that they played ''Let Me Lay My Love On You'' including Johnny surfing through the crowd on a gear box with wheels during the outro solo). These guys have so much energy and are just downright cool, likeable dudes. I'd recommend everyone go see them if they have the chance, I certainly will again Only downside was being stuck in Birmingham for an additional 2 days because of the snow but made it back home now
  7. Yeah, really looking forward to it Flying on Saturday morning at 7 AM, not exactly sure how I'm gonna get up hahahaha
  8. All right, I gotta ask - does anyone here like Charlie Puth? I heard 2 maybe 3 of his older songs last year and didn't like em (Marvin Gaye and We Don't Talk Anymore), his voice is okay but I don't like the style, typical music you'd hear on the radio these days. After ignoring the new single Attention for a few months I've come to like it and am interested to hear his new album when it comes out next January. Although it's a pop song I think it's well made, nice build up with the pre-chorus and the synthesizers in the background for example. The new single How Long ain't bad either He does a lot himself beside writing the music - recording, mixing etc. and from what I can tell he really likes getting into the production aspect of the music. I heard him say he likes a lot of early 90s RnB and pop for its production and tries to copy that. It may not be rock but I think it's admirable he is trying to sonically model his music after those examples with the big sound, warmth, backing vocals on top of each other and stuff like that. He's really putting a lot of thought into it which can't be said about a lot of ''artists'' or producers in mainstream music these days.....
  9. Santa Cruz in Birmingham this Saturday. Has anyone seen them on the current tour already??
  10. I've always liked the intro / beginning of W.A.S.P.'s ''The Idol'' , not the dialogue at the beginning but the part with ''Will I be alone this morning, will I need my friends'' and the way it rolls into the part of the song with the acoustic guitar riff and the ''If I could only stand'' part. Unfortunately that whole part is cut off in this video
  11. Can't remember the first half of the year for some reason, I know there's been the Crazy Lixx record and a few other ones.... but the album I've listened to the most this year is Midland's ''On The Rocks'' a country album.
  12. Guns N' Roses - I Don't Care About You Santa Cruz - Velvet Rope Blackfoot - Payin' For It (this is not hateful or aggressive at first glance but if you think about it it kind of is) Guns N' Roses (again ) - Back Off Bitch Spread Eagle - Switchblade Serenade
  13. Spread Eagle's ''Shotgun Kiss'' together with the instrumental intro, fantastic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSyRlOEqnn8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9bGZq726LU Edit: Is there an additional menu for fonts etc so I can post a direct youtube link like there was before???
  14. Oops, didn't realize there was a video for "I'm No Good For You" To answer my own question, I don't like the sound...
  15. How does the re-recording of ''I'm No Good For You'' sound?
  16. It's only been about a month but the songs haven't ''held up'' well.... they're still good but the novelty wore off quickly. The opener ''Young Blood Rising'' is still amazing and another favorite is ''Back From The Dead'' I just love the riff and the solos are good as well, they're not just fast but also have a sort of bluesy quality to them which I like I still skip the 4 songs I don't like (Breathe, Adrenaline, River Phoenix 2 and Habits Die Hard)
  17. From De La Cruz ''Good As It Gets'' (off the EP) and ''Street Level'' (off the Street Level album), massive openers
  18. Also got tickets for their show in Zurich next February Had my fair share of Steel Panther concerts (saw them 4 times on the Balls Out tour alone), always a fun show. Great musicianship, jokes, crowd participation, very entertaining.
  19. Any favorite tracks off the first one? Looking forward to the new album too, excited to see what comes out now that there's other members giving their creative input
  20. This is still in the VERY early stages but the news got me excited. Could be another year before we get to hear something though, but the Catalano singer Roxx Catalano has posted an update saying drum tracking for new music has begun. While the first album was mostly a solo effort with some guest performances, Catalano is now a full band consisting of: Roxx Catalano - Vocals Matt Fawcett - Guitar Rory Joy - Guitar (played in De La Cruz with Roxx) Nick Casalini - Bass (also guitarist for Darcee Fox) Nick Caligula - Drums Hoping these links work: https://instagram.com/p/Ba3e_omnkmk/ https://instagram.com/p/Ba3EdEtH6qS/
  21. Looking forward to seeing Airbourne again here in Switzerland next week, then Intervals / Polyphia / Nick Johnston on the 18th, Santa Cruz (1st time for me) in Birmingham on 9. December, then Hammerfall on the 15th and also got Tickets for Steel Panther next February Airbourne is gonna kick ass (as usual) and also excited about Santa Cruz, been wanting to see them for a while now
  22. Would've said Face Down In The Gutter by XYZ as well. Let me also throw in: Bangalore Choir - Angel In Black
