  1. And Dans viewpoint is the one that counts at the end of the day. If he thinks something belongs on one site over the other, that is because his viewpoint. Same as if he decides a band does not belong on any of his sites. Many years ago I put forward the idea of two bands. The Donnas and Bowling For Soup as in my opinion they are both melodic pop rock who owe more to 80s hard rock than the punk genre they often get labled with. He agreed The Donnas belonged, but BFS he did not think fitted. I felt that was a fair decision based on his viewpoint. End of the day, we are all merely subjects kneeling at the altar of Dan.
  2. Brutal metal is just a name, and not reflective of it being one specific type of metal. Metal is metal no matter how soft or heavy. I mean, Heavy harmonies is also just a name the encompasses various forms of hard rock. Doesn't mean all the bands featured have layered backing vocals etc. There has to be a cut off for everything. One site is metal the other is hard rock. Priest and Maiden are metal. Saxon I never classed as metal as their music was far more radio friendly. And Accept has stradled the line between genres. Especially when you think about the Eat the heat album. Nothing metal about that.
  3. Early 70s Priest I kinda agree as being more hard rock, but 80s was defo more metal, and everything from Painkiller onwards is pure 100% metal.
  4. Still kinda smells shonky to me. Why ignore the bands questions and only "go public" when the band posts about it on social media. Just be honest with the band.
  5. Latest update on the bands FB: Parley... Happy to say that we have made progress regarding the release of THE DARK HORSE on Limited Edition Vinyl and CD. Golden Robot Records has cleared up this issue and we are looking forward to the release date of August 16th. Golden Robot Records has also written us a letter explaining their position which I have posted on our Official Website. All we wanted was a little information. You all especially had a right to know. Glad we could clear this up, thanks everyone!!!
  6. Seems the owner of Golden robot Mark Alexander-Erber, has quite a dodgy history including fire arms charges, a failed hotel chain and several other failed companies plus a tattoo shop with a notorious drug kingpin as his partner, which was controversial due to the paper work being botched as the shop should never have been given planning permission. Sounds like another company of his is going under.
  7. Looks like there is a huge drama around the new Rileys LA Guns album, The Dark Horse. Apparently Golden Robot records was supposed to ship CDs and vinyl in April but they have gone dark. This was posted on the Rileys LA Guns FB page today: What’s up everybody? I wanted to give you all an update on the Vinyl & CD for THE DARK HORSE since they were supposed to be shipping mid April. But April has come and gone with no answers from GOLDEN ROBOT RECORDS, so I can’t. We have no idea what is happening with it. We don’t know if it’s been made, being made or never coming because Golden Robot Records won’t tell us. They won’t answer my emails so we are all left in limbo. I re-did the art 3 times to fit their changing templates. So the art was done over a year ago. Believe me that was a lot of work and we (the Band) were also looking forward to seeing the finished product. But like I said, as of now we don’t know. I will try to keep you all posted if I hear anything. Very disheartening
  8. Scorpions - Tokyo tapes Once all these Scorpions albums show up, I will have completed the studio album discography for them and replaced any tape copies I had. I don't see myself buying anymore live albums other than Moment of glory as not really a live album fan, and already have enough. And certainly no more best of type things unless they have exclusive tracks like Born to touch your feelings. I was trying to complete their discography a few years ago, but it got derailed by my medical issue.
  9. I don't get the point of stuff like this. Firstly it makes zero sense seeing as song writing credits are not in the database, and secondly why create an account just to post this like some kinda major crime has been commited?
  10. There is always gonna be a fine line between what is an is not gonna cut the mustard on here. As I said before, Cornell is an amazing singer and the stuff he did with Audioslave was certainly deserving of a place on the site as there was so much 70s hard rock/metal to their sound. But Soundgarden certainly does not fit beyond a few songs here and there. And his solo stuff is all over the place genre wise. His James Bond theme, you know my name is one of my favourite hard rock songs of all time and if he had released a whole album in that style, I would whole heartedly support that being on the site, but as much as I really like his Carry on album, it just does not belong here. And I would be really against stuff like Pearl Jam and Creed not because I flat out hate them, but just because I don't think they really fit. There are bands I love I would not want on here, and there are bands I hate who I fully support them being on here (The Darkness for example). The other thing to consider, as it was mentioned by someone, it does not matter if certain members of a band have albums on here, that does not mean there other bands belong on here. Audioslave yes, Soundgarden and RATM, no. Scott Stapp (can't really comment) but Creed, no. Mother Love Bone, yes. Pearl Jam, no. And with some of the other bands mentioned, like The Cars. It's a slippery slope, as where do you stop? Should Dire Straits be on here? Bruce Springsteen? Huey Lewis? Mellencamp? All artists I really like, but don't think they have a place.
  11. Really looking forward to a couple of upcoming releases as well. Maverick is sounding promising, and most hyped for The Warning as all singles released from that so far have been top notch. Plus there is the new Rolling Quartz EP on the horizon.
  12. Might be a bit obvious, and there are so many songs with this name, but these are my faves
  13. I have bought a few that are decent, but the two that have impressed me most are Mick Mars and Judas Priest.
  14. Scorpions - In trance Scorpions - Eye II eye Scorpions - MTV unplugged in Athens Scorpions - Born to touch your feelins Torme - Demolition ball
  15. While I won't complain about anything new/unreleased by Billy, it pisses me off that they don't just do some kinda compilation album of them or a box set. I bought Rebel Yell last time it was re-released with bonus tracks, and several of the songs were either alternate versions or demos of songs already on the album. If they knew this shit existed, this is what they should have put on it. With the length of his career as a solo artist and with Generation X, I reckon they would have enough unreleased stuff to fill at least a double album.
  16. He sounds exactly like him
  17. As of 30th April https://walkoffame.com/press_releases/legendary-rocker-sammy-hagar-to-be-honored-with-star-on-the-hollywood-walk-of-fame/
  18. The thing is that site is kinda a mixed bag with some borderline stuff. Stuff like Iron Maiden, Saxon, some Sabbath, Dio and a lot of early Priest really are not that heavy and kinda straddle the heavy and melodic spectrum but everything has to go somewhere. And lets face it a lot of people call Scorpions "metal" but they are on HH not BM. All down to how people judge what genre they belong in. Even bands like Twisted Sister, WASP or Fozzy could fit on Brutal Metal as well as Heavy Harmonies.
  19. The more metal stuff has its own database https://brutalmetal.com Just in case you had not spotted it.
  20. There is one band I do think should be added that while not on the list, is connected to one of those bands and that is Audioslave. Cornell is a fantastic vocalist, but Soundgarden does not belong here, and only some of his solo stuff does, but the three Audioslave albums should defo be considered. If Alter Bridge is in the database, Audioslave should certainly be there. Kid Rock is/was great in his southern rock phase, but as much as I like that I don't think he really belongs here. I'd rather have stuff like Bowling For Soup on the site than all of those bands on the list, and I ain't even convinced they belong either.
