  1. I thought this was clearly based on fact; i.e. about how humans treat other groups of humans and indeed other species. I'm sure the authorities wouold act in the same way if real aliens landed. Good film though. Oh yeah, especially with the fact that it was set in South Africa, I'm sure the way the Government treated the aliens in this movie was a very thinly veiled version of the country's old apartheid policies... I found this rather boring...generally I don't want political lessons with my SciFi...but it did get good reviews from the movie hacks...
  2. Van Gunn...S/T...I picked this one up on a whim last year and I just got around to playing it over the weekend and it has blown me away...I can't believe I haven't heard of this Cd being mentioned here on HH...One of the best hard rock releases I've heard this year...
  3. I have their first 3 releases..."Of The Son and The Father" is my favorite by far, their 2nd "Evil is Forever" was okay but I didn't care much for the 3rd one "Astralism" and I haven't bothered with them since as I didn't care for the direction they were going musically...
  4. Loved the first release and will be definitely picking this one up....what's wrong with sounding like DL? DL don't sound like DL anymore so it's nice to hear music that is influenced by DL's old music since they have forgotten how to rock...
  5. Spot on I went with Heart as well and i can't believe Rush gets so little respect from those morons...
  6. Charlie Sexton....S/T Jimmy Barnes......Freight Train Heart

  8. Two great sounding new releases from Avenue of Allies...damn this record company has some good bands...2 more that I have to pick up! Samples are here at HH... http://heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=6000&CDName=Back%20to%20Life http://heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=6001&CDName=Time

  10. Billy Klippert...S/T Baltimoore....Freak Baltimoore....There's No Danger on The Roof
  11. Being a huge Jays fan I was hoping for Halliday...hopefully the Phillies will get it together before Roy retires...
  12. So where did you get them for $12? he bought it at Amazon UK, they have 15% VAT discount for non-EU orders and apparently Australia is one of the free shipment destination. but again, he's lucky since when I try to buy White Widow and Newman, the price were rocketed to GBP 11.6 as per now when last week or two, they're still around GBP 8.99 lol so you need to be patient for a while, meanwhile if you're up for a GBP 8.99, House of Lords, Toby, and WoA still around that price, and I'm thinking of getting the new Reckless Love, Steel Panther, Alyson Avenue, Steven Wilson, all of them are at that low price right now. If I could get free shipping they would get a lot of my business too!
  13. Michael O'Brien...S/T Scorpions......Savage Amusement
  14. Did you think you could try and sneak that one in and no-one would notice? ....I picked it up for 2 reasons, first it was cheap and second it gets good reviews here at HH... http://heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=4202&CDName=David+Cassidy
  15. I wouldn't take this release as a gift....but I don't doubt Shatner will be laughing all the way to the bank...anyone watch his show Weird or What?
  16. Definitely the best new show of the year....we'll see if they can keep up the quality...
  17. I gotta ask...are the newer releases that sellers like Azintex are selling really boots? Has anyone actually checked this out? Or is everyone assuming that they are boots because of the obvious older/rarer boots that are being sold.... I asked the very same question at the start of all this and the popular opinion seemed to be that they are boots. But yeah, I'm not actually sure if that's the official word, or just what people think. Hey, they convinced me! Like I said at the start, I just thought they were normal and official Russian pressings. Very easy to answer that. If on the back sleeve, it's stated like it was printed/manufactured in Russia by different label (IronD / Maximum) and prohibited for sale outside Russia, then it's legit, but if the cover is basically the same as US/Euro pressing, then it's a boot. Just like any local Indonesian disc, if it's manufactured in Indonesia, it'll stated in the back cover. The local disc is reasonable, probably around $8 but sadly it's mainly mainstream discs, but Russian discs should be far cheaper I guess because they printed a huge bulk (could be over 5.000?), so by buying for $10, the seller is racking up probably $7-$8 profit margin. I never bought a new release from Azintex, might try buy one very rare new release later just to prove my theory but yeah I suspect it is. They are not Russian releases as per the inserts...is it possible that they are coming from a legit source and they are buying bulk and selling them for a small profit? I don't buy very often from Azintex but he sells the same stuff that my source in Japan sells. However the guy in Japan also sells a lot of cds that Azintex doesn't have....something like 5-10 times what Azintex has available and the prices are all over the place...as high as 10 Euros for newer releases ...
  18. Hmmm, I can't seem to get to any of those samples.....can't even get to heavyharmonies.com using either Firefox or IE.....fortunately the forum still works...

  20. Excellent! I've been waiting for the China Sky one for a long time. After Hours is great news too. Even early Stan Bush. Tin Drum... jeez, most of them are. China Sky is very expensive disc right, glad we can have it cheap lol btw i haven't got that Dalton disc, probably need at least $30-$35 to score the original nowadays. I got Dalton re-issues through Schmankerl a while back. Not sure how legit they are, but I assume they're okay. I see 2 others that I'm looking for are out now from Azintex...Ice Tiger and K.K. Wilde
