  3. Richie Sambora confirms plans to reunite with Bon Jovi Author: Scott Colothan Richie Sambora has told Absolute Radio he’s planning to reunite with Bon Jovi and hopefully record new music with the legendary band. Fresh from being unveiled as Jacket Potato on ITV show The Masked Singer over the weekend, Richie Sambora dropped by Absolute Radio for a chat with our very own rock aficionado Leona Graham. During the wide-ranging chat, the ever-genial Richie spoke to Leona about what it was like performing on The Masked Singer, why he chose the Jacket Potato costume, his legendary career with Bon Jovi, and the enduring appeal of the band’s timeless anthem ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ and why the song more relevant than ever today. Elsewhere in the interview, Leona asked Richie whether he plans to join forces with Bon Jovi again following his performance with them at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2018. Answering in the affirmative, Sambora said: “We're talking about it. I don't think there's any reason not to at this point.” “I made the decision when I started to work here in London over the last six months, I hooked up with Hipgnosis and Merck Mercuriadis, and we started to work together and I started to write with other artists and making my own records and now I'm saying to myself, ‘how am I going to ignite this? Let's put on a potato head!’” Confirming that he hopes to perform with Bon Jovi again, Richie added: “Jon (Bon Jovi) was having a hard time with his voice a little bit there and he needed to take a little bit of a breather.” Richie also said his relationship with Jon is still good a decade on from his Bon Jovi exit, explaining: “You know what, there's no malice. I mean, we did something… there's not a lot of bands that did what we did. I mean, obviously, bands like The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and U2 (have).” Richie swiftly returned to the subject of the Bon Jovi when talking about his post-Masked Singer plans, saying: “There’s a new (solo) album coming out, probably at the end of the end of March or the beginning of April and (it’s) with Bob Rock. It’s a rock record. Yeah, it's a lot of fun and the songs are good, and I'm thrilled and I can't wait to get out and play again. “I don't know when Jon’s going to get his voice together and (when the Bon Jovi reunion is) going to happen, but we have to get out there and do it for the fans really. I feel a second obligation. “I've had such a privilege and an opportunity - and this is not bulls---, it's really true - my life is pretty good, always has been and I get to do what I love to do for a living and it's a damn good living. And I never really stopped really.” Asked by Leona if he will write new music with Bon Jovi, Richie said: “Oh, if he doesn't let me, he's crazy. I'm on a tear. "Actually, I did write that other (Bon Jovi) stuff, too. It's a misnomer when people go just because his name (Jon Bon Jovi) is on (the band) that's the name. We just couldn't think of anything else really. “People think that I just come up with the guitar parts and something like that. But songwriting is conceptual. You have to have a concept. It's a story. And it can sometimes just come from looking out the window and observing and a lot of times it comes from your own life and for the most part of Bon Jovi my life was a lot (more) colourful than everybody else's in the band!” Richie Sambora set to reunite with Bon Jovi (planetradio.co.uk) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Some tracks that are supposed to show up on the new solo CD...
  4. Finally getting a chance to listen to this one today... my expectations weren't very high, but damn if I'm not enjoying it immensely so far at 5 songs in. Agree with Lettard, "Bad Luck Chuck" is the most classic Wig Wam sounding track... well, at least that I've heard so far. Pleasantly surprised atm...
  5. There’s this really cool thing out on the inter web called Google… use it.
  6. I don’t believe they ever did a studio version unfortunately; it’s on the 2 disc version of their Best of the Best compilation, and it’s still the live version from “In the Raw”. If they did, it’s remained well hidden out in the world.

  17. Can't say for sure yet, as there's not a track listing anywhere that I can find, but it's not mentioned in the write up on the Perris website: Release date to stores March 17th, 2023. BABYLON A.D. Is Back! The new album “Live Lightning” Hits the streets March 17th, 2023 on Perris Records. The new album includes their top-ten rock-radio classic hits “Hammer Swings Down”, “Kid Goes Wild", “Bang Go The Bells” from their debut release, their hit “Bad Blood” from the “Nothing Sacred” album and songs from their studio albums “American Blitzkrieg”, “The Lost Sessions” and their last release “Revelation Highway” are all featured. The fourteen hard-rocking tracks on “Live Lightning” showcase the high-energy, powerful live performances that Babylon A.D. is renowned for. Formed in 1988, Babylon A.D. hail from the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. Original members, Derek Davis vocalist/songwriter, guitarists’ and music writers John Mathews and Ron Freschi, drummer James Pacheco and bassist Robb Reid were all in childhood rival bands before they began playing together. In 1989 Babylon A.D. caught the attention of Arista Records president and industry music mogul “Clive Davis”, who signed them at a live showcase in Los Angeles thanks to their impressive three song demo and a home made video. Their self-titled album “Babylon A.D.” was released in 1990 and included their hard rock classic hits "Bang Go The Bells”, “Hammer Swings Down” and “The Kid Goes Wild”, which was the trailer song and promotional video for Orion Pictures (ROBO COP 2). The band scored three #1 songs at Metal Radio and reached Gold status on their first release, which spent 38 weeks on the Billboard top 200, peaking at # 46. Their sophomore effort (Nothing Sacred) released in 1992 produced two more top-ten metal rockers. “Bad Blood” and “So Savage the Heart”. Constant touring throughout the early 1990s and several MTV videos made them one of hard rock fans favorite bands. After spending several years with Arista Records the band signed with Apocalypse Records in 1999 and released “Live In Your Face”, a compilation of live tracks recorded at various cities’ across America. Their next release “American Blitzkrieg” soon followed in 2002 and both CDs were well received by critics and fans alike. In 2008 the band released Babylon A.D. "In The Beginning” on Perris Records, a compilation of songs from the original demo tapes that secured them their recording contract with Arista Records. After a long hiatus the band started playing and recording again in 2014. Touring across the States and Europe releasing three more albums, the latest “Revelation Highway” was released in 2018 on Frontiers Records. BABYLON A.D. Is BACK! And once again bringing their powerful hi-energy show and new CD to a city near you!
  18. From the Metal Church FB page: Yes, the rumors are true, it's official! Please welcome vocalist Marc Lopes to the congregation! We auditioned a handful of vocalists and while they were all great, Marc quickly became the clear choice. Both David Wayne and Mike Howe had a very unique, irreplaceable quality to their voices, so we were not looking for a clone of either. We wanted someone new, who could embrace the past, and also bring something fresh and exciting to the mix. Marc brings a very classic yet modern feel to the songs and we are looking forward to getting this new album out to you later this year! Thank you for your continued support of Metal Church!
