  1. This tune is better than anything off the most recent LA Guns release "Black Diamonds" . Might pick this up if I hear another good song or two...
  2. Los Angeles - Van Halen will release a new boxed set this fall spotlighting the band’s second incarnation, with singer Sammy Hagar, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen, and bassist Michael Anthony. The upcoming set includes newly remastered versions of four multi-platinum studio albums, along with a selection of rarities recorded between 1989 and 2004. THE COLLECTION II will be available on October 6 on 5 LPs for $124.98 and 5 CDs for $49.98. Pre-order both versions HERE. All the music in the set was mastered directly from the original master tapes, a process overseen by the band’s longtime engineer, Donn Landee. The new set is the long-awaited sequel to The Collection, a compilation released in 2015 that focused on the six studio albums recorded by the band’s original line-up, which featured singer David Lee Roth. THE COLLECTION II picks up where its predecessor left off and covers the four consecutive #1 albums released during the Hagar era: 5150 (1986), OU812 (1988), For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge(1991), and Balance (1995). The journey begins with 5150, Van Halen’s seventh studio album and the band’s first to claim the top spot on the Billboard 200. Certified platinum six times in the U.S., the record treated fans to hits like “Dreams,” “Love Walks In,” and “Why Can’t This Be Love,” which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The group returned two years later with OU812, a quadruple-platinum smash that delivered four Billboard Hot 100 hits, including “Finish What Ya Started” and “When It’s Love.” The accolades continued with For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, which earned Van Halen its first Grammy®Award for Favorite Heavy Metal/Hard Rock Album. Debuting at #1 and staying there for three weeks, the album achieved triple-platinum certification. The record produced an incredible seven singles, including hits like “Poundcake,” “Top Of The World,” and “Right Now.” In 1993, the band released its first live album, Live: Right Here, Right Now, before returning in 1995 with Balance, its final studio album with Hagar. The album was another commercial triumph, debuting at #1, selling more than three million copies, and earning a Grammy®nomination for “The Seventh Seal.” THE COLLECTION II concludes with Studio Rarities 1989-2004, an exclusive compilation that assembles eight gems from the Hagar era for the first time. Among these rarities is “Crossing Over,” the B-Side to Balance’s “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You”, and the band’s only non-album B-side. The compilation boasts other exceptional highlights, including the band’s cover of Little Feat’s “A Apolitical Blues” and the instrumental “Baluchitherium,” which were originally left off the vinyl versions of OU812 and Balance, respectively. Additionally, the set features two songs the band contributed to the Twister Soundtrack – “Humans Being” and the Grammy®-nominated “Respect The Wind.” Rounding out the set are “It’s About Time,” “Up For Breakfast,” and “Learning To See,” which were recorded during the band’s temporary reunion with Hagar in 2004. All three debuted that year on Van Halen’s second greatest hits collection, The Best of Both Worlds. —————————— Van Halen The Collection II (5CD) Available October 6th 2023 Disc: 1 1 Good Enough (2023 Remaster) 2 Why Can't This Be Love (2023 Remaster) 3 Get Up (2023 Remaster) 4 Dreams (2023 Remaster) 5 Summer Nights (2023 Remaster) 6 Best of Both Worlds (2023 Remaster) 7 Love Walks In (2023 Remaster) 8 5150 (2023 Remaster) 9 Inside (2023 Remaster) Disc: 2 1 Mine All Mine (2023 Remaster) 2 When It's Love (2023 Remaster) 3 A.F.U. 3. First one that came to mind is I prefer the majority of Don Henley’s solo stuff over the Eagles. I prefer Sammy Hagar solo over Montrose, Chickenfoot, and The Circle (but not over VH 😜)
  4. Home now and given “Fugitive” a proper listen; I like it. Good, solid hard rocker, and as expected, it’s Levin’s guitar work that really shines here. Looking forward to hearing the rest. 👍 —————————————————- DOKKEN TO RELEASE NEW STUDIO ALBUM “HEAVEN COMES DOWN” ON 27TH OCTOBER You can feel that heat off the Sunset Strip and see that hair in the wind as Dokken bring their timeless convertible Ferrari rock ‘n’ roll power to the table with Heaven Comes Down, an unapologetic celebration of everything Dokken do best. You want to rock? Sink your teeth into “Fugitive”, which rides some shimmering guitar work courtesy of Jon Levin, Don Dokken imploring that “I’m a fugitive from life”, and if you want ballads, head on over to “I’ll Never Give Up”, hanging on that Coliseum chorus, Levin laying down a landmark solo. The pattern of Heaven Comes Down never falters in delivering the goods on both sides of the fence. “Just Like A Rose” brings the Pacific Coast Highway into vision with its smooth, effortlessly-driven gears, and “Saving Grace” carries a mystical malevolence. But it is closer “Santa Fe” which is perhaps the most revealing, spare yet glorious moment, Don Dokken opening up with what amounts to a ‘life-moment biography’, a spartan acoustic arrangement allowing the rich yet road-driven vocals to frame what might well prove to be the defining moment of Dokken’s career. Mixed by Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Joe Bonamassa) and produced by Bill Palmer and Don Dokken, fans will love it, neutrals will be wonderfully surprised by some of the ingredients within Heaven Comes Down. Heaven Comes Down will be released on CD Digipak, 12” Vinyl Album in Black and colour variants, digital formats and special D2C products and bundles. Available to pre-order from August 8th 2023.
  5. I’ve seen this pop up in a couple places now, so I guess this is the artwork for “Heaven Comes Down”. It’s not terrible, but it screams being some sort of AI generated pic. Maybe not, but it sure looks it… 😒 Anyway, still looking forward to hearing what Don and Co have come up with.
  6. Sully's solo stuff is a different beast from Godsmack; moslty acoustic flavored melodic rock.... I recently picked up his two solo discs and am really enjoying them.
  7. Very nice, and exactly what we've come to expect from this band.

  9. We are very happy to announce that Fate is finally back and currently busy writing and recording material for a new album. The line-up however has changed slightly as Peer Johansson is now back on lead vocals. Unfortunately the former lively lead singer is not the same, as he suffered multiple complications from a broken neck after an accident back in 2020. So, the days as an energetic and lively Duracell bunny are over, but thankfully, the batteries are not completely drained, and it hasn't affected his voice, so he's ready to Reconnect N' Ignite with the rest of the guys. We are very excited about the new material being written and having Peer back in the band and can’t wait to share these new songs with you! More news to come so stay tuned! 🤘
