  1. Samples of all tracks now over on the main site: http://heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=4775&CDName=Megalomania
  2. Dead at 63, apparently a suicide, battling severe depression as of late. One of the comedic greats of my lifetime, on the Mount Rushmore of comedy, along with George Carlin... both gone too soon.
  3. Click on an album cover below to go to the page on the main site and listen to the samples.
  4. FInally got a hold of this one. Better than expected, but certainly no Lipservice, which ranks up there in "albums of all time" territory...
  5. Mkay... I've just given this its first full listen. Based on all the hoopla surrounding it, I was expecting something WAY better. Maybe it's a grower, but it first blush I'm wondering what all the fuss was about. It's solid, but not stellar by any means.
  6. Not immediately brilliant. Sounds like Rammstein trying to sing Kissin' Dynamite... hopefully other samples prove better.
  7. That's interesting. I didn't think that torrents were trackable without the cooperation of one of the two parties at either endpoint (the site or the downloader); the peers throughout the network proviting the myriad of little bits don't necessarily know details about where the request originates. I thought that was the whole point of the technology. Unless the torrent site he connected to is actually a sting operation so the originating request and title could be tracked.
  8. This one has grown on me since my initial listen, especially High Enough. Overall it's turning out to be one of the better releases this year.
  9. Leaders at the turn, in alphabetical order: 21 Octayne Devil's Heaven Elvenking Iron Savior Laney's Legion Outloud Pretty Maids Pretty Wild
  10. Audio samples from all of the following added to the main site. Click on an album cover to go to the album's page to listen.
  11. Lead singer's voice is a bit thin and nasal, which is a bit distracting, but musically this isn't bad.
  12. From the band: "On June 30th we lost our brother, our friend, our muse, our voice. He was absolutely one of a kind, cut from some piece of cosmic DNA that no one will ever replicate. Joseph "Dee Dee Sweet" Donoghue Aug.1 1964 - June 30, 2014" https://www.facebook.com/MrNastyNY
  13. While some of the tracks are on Youtube, most aren't, and I'm overdue on putting up samples. This track is interesting, as there's a particular aspect of the song that one doesn't expect. It's initially a bit out of place compared to the overall style of the band's material... one would expect the sound back in 1985, but surprisingly it works and adds a bit to the mix... http://www.heavyharmonies.com/audio/meanstreetcity.mp3 The more I listen to this album, the more I like it.
  14. I'm very surprised there's been absolutely no discussion about this release. It's damned good.
  15. Why are you assuming the beginning of 2013? It's an anniversary edition announced in 2014 covering the years 2007 through 2013. Seven years. A moot point no matter how you slice it... the shit apparently ain't happenin'
  16. Umm... math skills fail! You're making a mistake that many do, of mentally subtracting one number from the other; that's not the same as the range of years. 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 Voila! 7 years. * * Yes, depending on which month and day of 2007 and which month and day of 2013 are being used, technically it could still be less than 7 years, but generally speaking 7 years is accurate. Here endeth the lesson.
  17. D'oh! I could swear that when I did a search it didn't show up... damned drinking at work...
  18. Is this even being released in the U.S.? It's not listed on Amazon, Best Buy, nothing...
  19. Woot. The last one was a corker! Hope they follow suit...
  20. It looks like this was either a hoax or got pulled. I find no evidence of it ever having been released, and there is no mention of it on the Amaranthe website. Curious. They supposedly have a third album coming this year.
  21. As ballads go, this one is pretty damned good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ekMYKAFsKA
  22. Formulaic, but solid. Get It On isn't a bad song.
