One comment below the facebook post in particular resonated with me: Maybe it's time to rethink release dates, instead of complaining how the decades-old promotional model is broken. I don't understand why advance copies are necessary. If, say, Toto has a new record coming out, don't tell me how great it is but then tell me I can't listen to it for another 2 months. Just go "the new album is done! Here it is." Reviews can still be written after an album is released, unless the only thing that matters is first-week sales, which is an idea that really needs to die. A good album is just as good a month, a year, a decade after it's released as it was on the release date. There's no MTV, or good rock radio anymore, so the idea of serving videos and singles to build up albums seems very out of date and unnecessary. I don't need to know about albums I can't actually go listen to yet. While not directly aimed at the issue frontiers raised, I've been asking myself the same question like what the fuck!!??!?!?!?!?!? this needs to stop just release the music we love and want to hear don't be teasing us with that type of shit. take the inglorious release for example, people who have been wanting to hear it know about the album coming out since........ at least october. the album's been done since LOOOOOOOOONG before that. when is it coming out though?? fucking end of february i mean come on!!!!!!!!!

I have this band on my radar with a couple other ones that I check every couple months or so to see what they're up to. Looks like these guys are no more, their guitarist is playing in a different band called midway now which sucks cause I think big time really had potential I mean just listen to public personality you'll see what I mean. Well I guess it's time to look for the new next big thing now

I know the guy is old but I've always respected his earlier aor / rock work and didn't mind some of the pop influenced stuff he released during the 80s and 90s So when he announced a new album I thought fuck it, let's support this guy right? Now I get the news he's recording a disc full of songs from movies what the fuck!!?!?!?!?! That's about as bad as it can get. After the jettblack disaster I've decided to never give money to an artist like this ever again they can go fuck themselves. If it's released properly and I like it I'll buy it, if not... too bad! What I'm trying to say is, you never know what you're gonna get, could be my favorite band needing money I won't be supporting their project like this sorry

They decided to continue and are auditioning guitarists, if any of you wants to give it a try. Times like these I wish I had learnt to play an Instrument. I really hope they find two capable musicians who will write great riffs and songs and maybe return to the New Religion era sound, fingers crossed

That's what I'm afraid of as well, it's good as long as everything is online but who knows maybe there's a song you like and these fuckers decide to take it off the site for some reason then there's no way for you to listen to it cause you didn't download it. I know what I have on CD or my hard drive I can always listen to whenever I want, also if there's a youtube video I like I immediately download it cause they could remove it any time Maybe it's not ''modern'' or trendy but that's just my school of thought

if you're right then there's no way vinyl is coming back, right ? because why people should go back to analog or older type of format if there are new better thing around? but it happened and based on a data I read somewhere on the net, 2014 shows a 30% increase in vinyl sales. I don't think you can compare vinyl n' cds. Sure 30% seems a lot but there was never a big base to begin with, so while it's a big number in percent it's still small in absolute numbers. For example according to wikipedia around 6 million lps were sold in the US in 2013 (that's in total) some artists sell that many cds or downloads on their own!! So to break it down, 6 million units, spread across thousands of artists and multiple releases and you get next to nothin. I highly doubt a lot of people are gonna go out and buy themselves a record player just to be able to play vinyl, the novelty'll wear off pretty quick As for cds, I think they'll be gone completely one day but it'll take a little time. Like 20 years or so, 15 - 20 years maybe 10 but not 5
