heaven&hell
For me the 4 releases by Maiden are ALL Classixs..no fillers all killer...after "SIT" I lost interest Iron Maiden Remember Tomorrow Phantom Of The Opera Transylvania Killers Murders In The Rue Morgue Killers Purgatory The Number Of The Beast The Prisoner 22 Acacia Avenue Hallowed Be Thy Name Piece Of Mind Revelations Still Life The Trooper Powerslave Aces High Back To The Village Powerslave Somewhere In Time Wasted Years Stranger In A Strange Land Alexander The Great Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son Never really cared for them after this release.. No Prayer For The Dying Fear Of The Dark Fear Of The Dark..the only one I've heard off this... The X Factor Shit.. I bought it...why??? Virtual XI I bought this one too ...god what a waste of money Brave New World Dance Of Death Montsegur Paschendale I have this release but never play it... A Matter Of Life And Death Never heard.... Very nice picks mate. IMO, the only very good Maiden album after Seventh Son is A Matter Of Life And Death The Blaze Bayley era, I like but the singing is hard going Brave New World is awesome IMO. I think there are some great tracks on it but overall it`s a good album not a very good one! Dance Of Death is for me a disappointing follow up to BNW, though I like it as with all Maiden albums, it lacks a little all round quality Brave New World for me was a great comeback and there's not one song on there I don't like. I'll probably played that cd more than any other this decade and it don't get old for me. Sure it was a little more on the prog side than some other albums and not as many foot to the pedal type songs but I still dig it. Dance of Death was very similar to BNW but wasn't quite as good even though I really like this album too with the only song I've never liked much being 'Montsegur'. A Matter of Life and Death is great too but I still like BNW a little better.

The Maiden of old always had more songs that had that Pedal to the Metal vibe and I hope if they make another album they have a few more faster songs on it. Captain Howdy
I've had the same opinion of Maiden and AC/DC for years. While I wouldnt say any of their stuff is shit, theres an awful lot of repetive stuff IMO, and a lot of songs that are just "there ", if ya know what I mean! But, when I like a song by them, I REALLY like a song! Whereas some bands seem to tick all the boxes for me most of the time, and I like pretty much everything they do, bands like Maiden, AC/DC, ZZ Top, Zep and a few others, I could condence down into a lot less albums than they have released. Still, the fact that I still buy all of their albums, proves I dont actually dislike anything they have done! I will say though, albums like Seventh son, No prayer, Fear of the dark and X-Factor I could have chosen a lot more than three tracks off each, probably the same for the debut album and Number of the beast as well! Captain Howdy
Oh, and I know a greatest hits package isnt strictly a proper Maiden album, but the song Virus off of Best of the beast, is another fave of mine!

Lord of Light AMOLAD and Dance of Death are by far my least favorite Maiden albums. Very nice selections mate, nice to have slightly differing opinions ie, Invaders - great track, chorus a little corny and The X Factor favourite album
