Agreed, they've gone from  melodic metal to more of a hard rock/melodic rock style.  The verses of this new track in particular really highlight those differences if you listen back to back with their earlier material.   I'm sure some fans will be turned off by the changes, but I like the song.

The new song is simply brilliant. When was the last time you heard bongos in a hard rock/metal song? 

This sounds like a beefed up Toto.
