2023 Gold Donors Darkstone Posted March 8, 2021 2023 Gold Donors Report Share Posted March 8, 2021 I reckon AOR needs a genre specific thread of it's own. Again, another umbrella term, but still very distinct. This album was a completely random pick up for me and responsible for a great memory Back in the day I picked this up in a bargain bin that contained multiple copies for $5 each (JB, Doggy). I was with my cousin and a mate who were both into this music also. We all decided it was worth the risk at that price, so we all got a copy. It was one of the rare times we ALL came back from buyings CDs happy.

I shocked that he has done 5 more albums along this one, the last was 2003

A lot of writing credits as well. I'm glad he decided to do this one himself. It smashes the "Chicago" version.
2023 Gold Donors Darkstone Posted March 9, 2021 Author 2023 Gold Donors Report Share Posted March 9, 2021 Lou Gramm - I'll Know When It's Over. Two killer solo albums. I really could listen to this guy all day.

Aordave89
Heard this one at a Firefest after party years ago - Stuck with me ever since. Great tune.
2023 Gold Donors Darkstone Posted March 10, 2021 Author 2023 Gold Donors Report Share Posted March 10, 2021 Jimmy Barnes - Waitin' For the Heartache. One from '87 off Jimmy's best album. Produced by Jonathan Cain, Mike Stone and Desmond Child. Very polished as you'd expect. This album was his big crack at the US market, featuring heaps of guests including Neal Schon amongst many others. Great album and big down here, but I don't think he achieved the success in the US he was hoping for.

2023 Gold Donors Darkstone Posted March 11, 2021 Author 2023 Gold Donors Report Share Posted March 11, 2021 Jude Cole - Start the Car. This had moderate commercial success down here in '92 and It's always stuck with me. I haven't heard anything he's done before or since TBH.
2023 Gold Donors Mr.AOR Posted March 11, 2021 2023 Gold Donors Report Share Posted March 11, 2021 Absolute KILLER!!! album with no filler at all with the superb vocals of Gene Miller. "Tears Don't Put Out The Fire" and "Go Easy" are so much better here than on the debut Alien album IMHO. The only fault i have is the production which is lacking, one of MTM's finest releases.

2023 Gold Donors Mr.AOR Posted March 12, 2021 2023 Gold Donors Report Share Posted March 12, 2021 And on the subject of albums with 1 killer track hear's another. Double Dealer - Moving Target an album of 11 tracks of which the first 10 are pure shit and then we get track 11 Freedom which is an absolute gem of a song, AWESOME!!!

2023 Gold Donors Darkstone Posted March 13, 2021 Author 2023 Gold Donors Report Share Posted March 13, 2021 Daryl braithwaite is one of Australia's favourite sons. Frontman for the iconic 70s Aussie band "Sherbet". In 1988 he released his first solo album which included this and several other massive hits down here.

Almost every second to third song on radio ( remember them ) is it. Trivia his ex wife was also Mike Tramp's ex.

2023 Gold Donors Darkstone Posted March 14, 2021 Author 2023 Gold Donors Report Share Posted March 14, 2021 Jean Beauvoir - Feel the Heat. My cousin and I were big Stallone fans back in the day, so we loved this track. I already had this on the "Cobra" soundtrack and I already had the "Voodoo X" album when I came across his first two solo albums in a second hand store and thought I'd hit the jackpot. Unfortunately, they were two of my biggest musical disappointments. He's redeemed himself of course with "Crown of Thorns".

I don't know where you got that from mate.
