Furyon

Looks like british band Furyon will finally release their debut album 'Gravitas' in 2010.

This could seriously kick arse.....for fans of Shinedown, Alterbridge etc, but this band are a lot heavier. 3 great songs on their Myspace...the first 2 have a ton of melody for heavy as fuck tracks....and the last, whilst not so melodic has an excellent end with a really cool solo.

I really hope they include the KILLER song 'The One' as well which is f excellent.

Cheers

No worries mate....surprised no-one else replied as this sounds like it could be a great straight up metal album. Cant wait to hear the finished article.

Just got this one playing now. Goddamn I love this guy's voice and it actually really, really suits this heavier style of music. 'Disappear again' was a monster opener, the second song was only decent and this third one is good, but clocking in at 8 minutes it has started to drag on a bit. I'll listen to the rest and see how we go.

Thanks for directing me to these guys, Glen. Totally missed this one... Wow, 'Don't follow' is awesome too. No matter what happens here, I do already prefer this to Faithealer, if only for the awesome vocals alone. But regardless, there's more heart and soul in this, imo.

Yeah I love this album....there are one or two which are a bit too long and progressive for me, but enough other material which kicks my arse! One of my fav tunes is 'New Way Of Living'....a dark ballad with a KILLER solo.

My real regret is that they left off the awesome song 'The One'....a shame really as that is probably their best song!

A damn good band, I think they're from Brighton

They put out a 3-track EP last year free with Classic Rock magazine which was pretty good. as has already been mentioned, ''Disappear Again'' is awesome.

    • So, Danny posted how the song is doing on Spotify and someone asked if this means a new album soon. Danny just made vague replies and said "well there will be more stuff coming soon"
    • Funnily enough, I read that this afternoon when I went to add the album to my collection on the main page. I got the European version which has two bonus tracks ... if you don't have them, you really aint missing anything

    • Created and Posted this video recently in order to promote Ryder SRIII a little more.  I love this song, one of my personal favs from the record.   Be careful viewing at work though (NSFW), just for a couple of images in the video.
    • Named my HH self after the song Auslander on the album Stain. Love that track. Really like the whole album. It's like Living Colour's "Slave to the Grind" or "Dog Eat Dog".

Brothers Johnny and Donnie Van Zant (respectively current lead vocalist of Southern Rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd and founding member of .38 Special) were able to find room in their busy schedules for the first time in 1998, recording their collaboration album “Brother to Brother”: a tribute to their late brother and Lynyrd Skynyrd original singer and founding member Ronnie. Such release was highly acclaimed between the press and fans worldwide and brought the duo to record a follow up album, simply entitled “II” in 2001. Their collaboration during the years did not stop as they tapped their feet in a more Country-oriented style with the release of “Get Right With the Man” (certified Gold in the USA in 2005) and later on with “My Kind of Country” in 2007. Now the brothers once again reinvent themselves, offering a Christian-themed album encompassing their Rock and Blues musical roots (and with a touch of Country for good measure). The result “Always Look Up” is made up of songs that will touch the listener’s heart and soul, with an emotional depth that is truly second to none in today’s musical landscape. Experience the soul touching that only the music from the Van Zant family, can provide. You will see why they are icons of the American South, and musical heroes to millions around the globe!

    • I am an atheist but will quite happily listen to Christian music. Hell I will listen to any music if it is good. I don't worship Satan, but will listen to Satanic music if it is good. I will listen to songs about drugs, despite never doing drugs. To me, with very few exceptions, I don't give a tarts furry cup if the lyrics are something I don't care about, as long as the music is good and the singers can sing (even happy to listen to foreign languages). That said, if lyrics make me cringe because they are godawful, it is tough to listen to a song. Some of this is mega cringe, not because it's Christian but because it's just not that great lyrically. I don't think either of these songs are awful, but they just did not grab me and the lyrics could have been so much better. As much as new Stryper gets on my tits as it all sounds the same, classic Stryper despite the preachy lyrics was always well written, hence why I really loved the band. And Michael Sweets first solo album was fucking amazing. I have Guardian, King James, Liberty & Justice, Bloodgood and a few other Christian bands in my collection, so judging Christian music is certainly not about the message, it's just about whether the music is good or not.
