A couple of decent second-hand/charity store finds:
Steelheart: Steelheart
Alannah Myles: Rockinghorse
Kate Bush: The Hounds Of Love (remastered version with bonus tracks)

From 87-93 they probably were the most popular band in the world.
Fixed.
I like the band just fine. They're like any popular band. On one hand, yes, they are over-rated heavily by a lot of people. But I always see the other side of the spectrum too. And the haters are often just as bad as the over-hypers.
No, I don't think they were the greatest band ever by any means, but they were a good solid band. An abundance of fillers, but a very strong catalogue of excellent songs to counter that.
As for a reunion, what are we actually talking about? A full reunion of the original, or even 'Illusion' line-up; or just Slash and Axl? If I'm being honest, it doesn't really interest me in reality. If they got back together and released a studio album, then sure, that'd be very interesting. But I feel like it'd be a titanic cause to get them together for a reunion gig... let alone trying to get them together long enough to write/record a single song, let alone a full album. Axl isn't going to suddenly start writing quick albums after almost three decades of doing the opposite.
So yeah, on paper it's a cool idea but the reality of it is a bit of a buzzkill.
And yeah, poor Axl looks shocking.
Supposed to be Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum (instead of Steven Adler). No word on if Izzy Stradlin would be a part of the reunion.
At least that line-up is closer to the 'classic' band that most people want to see (unlike the 'Axl And Blokes' tribute band that's been doing the rounds) ... I still wouldn't pay the undoubtedly ridiculous ticket price to see them play an aircraft hangar somewhere, but I'd be interested to see if they could pull off a new album ...

Mack The Life - the autobiography of comedian Lee Mack. Here's a tip - DON'T read this one on the train to work
Love Lee Mack - that could be good
It IS - far better than I was expecting ... the only trouble was, I read some of it in his voice ... which just made it even funnier!

The Revenant
This movie is hardcore. A lot of wincing moments. If you haven't heard about this movie, you should read up on it. It is pretty much the worst working conditions any actors and crew members had to endure. But the pay off was worth it, I believe. If Leonardo DiCaprio is ever to win an Oscar, this is his moment. And Tom Hardy is brilliant as always. He's probably my favourite actor.
Another film that I'm really looking forward to seeing ... as much as I'm not a fan of DiCaprio, this looks brilliant!

The Hateful Eight....really enjoyed it.
Really looking forward to seeing this ...

Manowar-Battle Hymns
Cracking album!

Back in the days of my youth, I was a BIG fan of The Cult - Dreamtime, Love, Electric, Sonic Temple, Ceremony ... loved 'em all ... I lost interest in them after that, but I live in hope they'll put out an album with more killer than filler, so I'll give this a listen ...

Tesla: Psychotic Supper
Lindsey Buckingham: Go Insane

I got vinyl with incorrrect label, (same label both sides), but never had it on a cd before.
I've had it with vinyl ... my 12" single of W.A.S.P.'s 'Animal' (live version) had 'Show No Mercy' as the B-Side instead of the two tracks that should have been on there.
I seem to recall JamesEagle having a mis-pressed Dangerous Toys CD ...

True,the Blaze era was bad.
I had the misfortune to see him when he was still with Wolfsbane - he was bad enough then ... what possessed Steve Harris to think that he was a suitable replacement for Bruce is beyond me ...

I got 2 CDs from a new(ish) UK Doom/Death Metal band - Aeurtum - as a free giveaway via their FB page:
The Fall
The Depths Of Which These Roots Do Bind

I love the 'Seventh Son' album (I was lucky enough to see them at Donington Park on that tour) ... I lost interest in the band completely when Blaze fronted them, but since 'Brave New World', it's like Bruce has never been away!

Surely, it's not much of a 'reunion' if only three of the original band are involved?
I can understand Adler being left out (after all, Axl paid him off so that he couldn't claim any part of the band as his own, so why would the little control-freak let him anywhere near it now?) I don't understand why Matt Sorum wouldn't be asked back ... unless the thinking is that he's not an AFD 'original', so no-one will really give a toss if he's involved or not ...
