'I Saw Red' is a fantastic song!
One of the worst ballads for me has to be Extreme's 'More Than Words' ... can't stand it ...
Pretty much any Bon Jovi ballad has me reaching for the 'off' switch or the 'skip' button ... I can't really explain why, as I DO genuinely like Bon Jovi ... there's just something about the ballads ...

I know a lot of people here won't agree, but one hard rock ballad that still gets a decent amount of radio airplay down here is a song that i CANNOT! stand.
Poison - Every rose has it's thorn.
I've never been able to tolerate Bret Michael's "douchebaggery".
I'm with you on this one ... there was a time when every local band I went to see would play it ... now, if I never heard it again, it would be too soon!

Dokken are (supposed to be) playing the 'Ramblin' Man' festival in Kent in the summer ... but at £90 a ticket, it's too rich for my blood ...

I couldn't be more happier for my beloved Nile. Time to reach a wider audience and wipe the floor with these hipsters.
According to the Overkill website, they're playing some dates in the US with Swallow The Sun, too ... it would be great if they could bring the whole Overkill/Nile/Amorphis/Swallow The Sun package to the UK!

But what was the story? Just weird.
He gets ill...they take him in to train him....then try to kill him.
Am i missing something.
Deadpool is told that his cancer will be cured, which is why he agrees to go with the 'recruiter' ... Francis tries to activate Deadpool's mutant genes, and when that doesn't work, tries to kill him (at which point, the genes ARE activated.) This is what leaves Deadpool scarred. The rest of the story is Deadpool hunting Francis as he thinks that Francis can cure him (and so give him the chance to return to a normal life with his girlfriend.) At the end of the film, Deadpool is told by Francis that there is no cure ... so Deadpool kills Francis.
Okay, so it's not Coppola or Scorcese, but I still liked it
Well thats not strictly true is it cos Francis was threatening him from the moment he met him.
That's so we know that Francis is the bad guy

Seasonal viewing:
Die Hard (obviously)
The Muppet Christmas Carol
The Woman In The Van
David Brent: Life On The Road
Deadpool
God that Deadpool was a let down
I realise I'm flying in the face of popular opinion, but I really liked it ... for me, it's better than the recent Batman/Superman rubbish ...
-
The intro to 'Crazy Train' .... 'AAAAAAALL ABOOOOOAAAARD! ...'
-
How about Ayreon? Although the lynchpin is one guy, the albums have featured some pretty stellar* talent?
*Geoff will probably disagree ...

Does Magnum's 'Les Morts Dansant' count as a ballad? LOVE that song ...
Dokken's 'Alone Again' has to be one of my all time favourite ballads.
