    And The Cradle Will Rock

    'Dirty Movies'

    So This Is Love

    Jump

    House Of Pain

    Why Can't This Be Love

    Dreams

    Top Of The World

    The Seventh Seal

    Aftershock

    I really shoulda done a DLR-era and a Hagar-era list ...

    I did!!! lol

Yeah, I saw that after I posted mine - LOL!

  2.

    Jimmy Carr

    Russell Howard

Urgh, those 2 are about as funny as a kick in the crutch.

For me by a looooong way -

    Micky Flanagan and Frank Skinner.

    Micky Flanagan is VERY good.

I should have been a bit clearer ... Jimmy Carr and Russell Howard BEFORE over-saturation on TV ruined them ...

    Some personal faves:

    W.A.S.P.: Locomotive Breath (Jethro Tull)

Van Halen: Where Have All The Good Times Gone? (The Kinks)

Queensryche: Gonna Get Close To You (Dalbello)

Charlie Sexton: Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress (The Hollies)

    Dream Disciples: Atomic (Blondie)

Aerosmith: Love Me Two Times (The Doors)

    Metallica: Blitzkrieg (Blitzkrieg)

Cradle Of Filth: Hallowed Be Thy Name (Iron Maiden)

Without vocals, the metallica one would be great, no way the dude's better than Brian Ross. And what about that riff? Where did they get it from?
CJSS also made a cover of that J. Tull song. You should check it, if you like that track.

I like the Blitzkrieg original ... I just prefer Metallica's version ... for me, Ross' best work is with Satan ;)

  5. I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say I despise a particular band's canon, but there are certainly some bands that I think are great on one album and patchy across the rest of their discography ...

Love/Hate: Blackout In The Red Room (never really got into their second album ... didn't bother with the rest)

    Linkin Park: Hybrid Theory

Every Mother's Nightmare: Wake Up Screaming (there are a couple of songs on their debut that float my boat, but everything else is just ... meh)

Faith No More: The Real Thing

Guns n' Roses: Appetite For Destruction (if they'd kept 'Illusion' down to one album, they could've had their name on two stone-cold killer releases)

Black Sabbath (with Ozzy): Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (to this day, I don't understand the fanboy devotion to this incarnation of Sabbath)

    Slayer: South Of Heaven

    Gun: Swagger

    There are more ...

  6. It's reminding me of OMD, who have 1 good song and the rest are awful.

1? Seriously? They were never a huge favourite of mine, but I can think of a handful of great songs by them - Enola Gay, Souvenir, Joan Of Arc, Maid Of Orleans, If You Leave ... perhaps you needed to have grown up in the UK in the 80s to appreciate them ;)

  7. Thought of a few more:

Rocket Scientists: Welcome To The Machine (Pink Floyd)

Van Halen: Won't Get Fooled Again (The Who)

Megadeth: No More Mr. Nice Guy (Alice Cooper)

Whitesnake: Ain't No Love In the Heart Of The City (Bobby Bland)

Lacuna Coil: Enjoy The Silence (Depeche Mode)

Cradle Of Filth: Devil Woman (Cliff Richard) & Temptation (Heaven 17)

The Sisters Of Mercy: Emma (Hot Chocolate)

    Marillion: Sympathy (Rare Bird)

Fish: Boston Tea Party (Sensational Alex Harvey Band)

Hanoi Rocks: Up Around The Bend (Creedence Clearwater Revival)

W.A.S.P.: Paint It Black (Rolling Stones)
