  1. Nightrain, no I haven't seen "The Chaser" but it looks similar to "I Saw the Devil." Other recent Korean movies I've seen are "A Dirty Carnival" (another gangster movie) and "The Man From Nowhere." Both are worth watching.
  2. What did you think of Looper, Nightrain? i liked it up 'til they started the stuff with the little kid, then it went way off course. Last night I re-watched A Bittersweet Life, one of my favorite flicks from the past few years. It's a character study set in the world of Korean gangsters with a couple of brilliant action set pieces thrown in for good measure. The ending shoot-out is one of the best I've seen in years. You can watch the ending here but be warned in contains SPOILERS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5FiNGW8Pvo
  3. Red Dawn remake. Meh. I like Chris Hemsworth alright but this remake was totally unnecessary and just falls flat in my opinion.
  4. That movie is awesome! Did you catch all the movie posters on the wall in the pizza joint? Plus you can never go wrong casting Barbara Crampton in your horror movie.
  5. Listen to "God is Dead?" here: http://www.kegl.com/...st/artist/3693/ Warning: It has annoying "I heart radio" ads during the song. I found the song to be just OK. Nothing great. I'm a bit sick of Ozzy myself, so I'll have to hear more before I decide to buy the album or not.
  6. Some nice pick ups there! Most of 'em were really cheap too (at Hastings)!
  7. Firehouse - s/t Fastway - s/t Sammy Hagar - The Essential Red Collection Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier Krokus - The Blitz Motley Crue - Theatre of Pain Survivor - Eye of the Tiger Y&T - Best of '81 to '85
  8. Special effects look awesome ... does the plot suck (as expected)? Well, there's not much OF a plot. Madman wants to take over the world. There's a little more to it of course, but not much. There's a bit of an unnecessary sub-plot involving Storm Shadow. One strange thing I noticed...(highlight to see) **SPOILERS** They blow the fuck outta London, but no one seems to care. Like, at all! **END SPOILERS**
  9. I went to see G.I. Joe: Retaliation yesterday and it was a good, but not great, action movie. The cliff-side ninja fight was awesome though!
  10. The Ultimate Sin for me as well. The early albums are great too, but I pretty much stopped listening to him after "Sin."
  11. Amon Amarth - With Oden On Our Side Skull Daze- s/t
  12. James, my older sister took me to see Jaws when I was about six years old. I'm now almost 44 and I still won't go in the ocean past knee-deep. And I'm not kidding! Last night I watched A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas and thought it was better than the second one, but not nearly as funny as the first.
  13. Iron Maiden - Seventh Son... Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark
  14. Could you tell me where you got that? Pretty please?
  15. Anberlin - Never Take Friendship Personal Vinnie Vincent Invasion - All Systems Go
  16. Went by a Vintage Stock today and picked up: The Donnas - Gold Medal Fireflight - Now
  17. The Bay (2012) Creepy and effective little "found footage" horror movie by acclaimed director Barry Levinson. Not for the squeamish!
  18. Heh, I bought that Andy Sidaris collection last year at a Hastings but still haven't watched any of 'em. Today I got a package full of cheesy horror in the mail: Sorority House Massacre Nightmare City Street Trash Syngenor Das Komabrutale Duell (German splatter flick) I also got the four-disc Dawn of the Dead "Ultimate Edition."
  19. Krokus - One Vice At a Time Slander - Careless Talk Costs Lives
  20. Just ordered "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" complete series.
  21. I'm really liking this young Canadian band Living Illusion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7C5ksRzlvY http://youtu.be/3YUYJiH4Rdc
  22. Not sure it'd be for me. Sounds really fast - like the old school punk my brothers used to listen to, like Pennywise and Millencollen and that stuff. You heard Fenix TX, Melody Fall or Allister? They're pretty cool bands in this style, but not quite as fast and a more melodic. I listen to a lot of pop punk like Teenage Bottlerocket, Riverdales, chixdiggit, etc. so I guess I'm just used to the speed of the music. I've heard Fenix TX (and like them), but not the other two. I'll check 'em out.
