  1. While we are speaking to nice songs and solid bands that we may have missed, Sheffields The Brink is just that and according to their FB they are still kicking about and working on a new release. BOy I would really like to find the couple EP's they mention the released. https://www.facebook.com/thebrinkband/ https://youtu.be/In2Wo-MXbFc
  2. Sweet I loved the first release.
  3. Speaking to bands we may have overlooked I found these UK sleaze rockers and figured they should be shared as the songs are quite catchy. Don't seem to be active anywhere and the bands FB and web links are dead I'm afraid... From 2011
  4. So speaking to stuff we missed and shouldn't have here is a guitarist extraordinaire/vocalist/songwriter called Phil X. From his FB and webpage the guy is all over the place playing and writing for many many acts and the stuff he did for his'self is infectious and as catchy as all get out. He also has bags and bags of videos of covers and guitar noodling that should appeal to appreciators of talented musicians. Enjoy! https://www.facebook.com/thedrills/ http://www.thedrills.com/ And apparently Phil toured with JBJ for abit as well.
  5. Here's a couple from their first album: And a few more: https://youtu.be/cqAqW3ZuFik https://youtu.be/pTw9OdfTUrc

  7. There is nothing wrong with what they are playing. Reminds me of Megadeth. Seems they have been quiet for a bit. https://www.facebook.com/drivingforceband/ http://www.drivingforce.ch/
  8. yes not my bag, but it just confirms why we keep scouring the inter web for artists and bands, this is on par with anything of this ilk we inadvertently hear on the radio or adverts, etc...
  9. Ahh yes Happy Day indeed Stefan! I hope your day brought you at least one box full with cd's.
  10. Well I will be damned. Here is a group from glorious Washington State! Yep my neck of the woods and the groove they are throwing down is a nice one. https://www.facebook.com/Homewreckr https://homewreckr.bandcamp.com/releases

  15. Albeit the name is a funny one, the band plays a sound bit of old school hard rock. RIde the Tiger just dropped. https://www.facebook.com/DevilsBallsMS/
  16. Not a lot of info about on the interweb with regards to Sweden's The Waiting Rain even though they have been around and on and off since the early 90's and they released the Solid Brick Wall album this year. I dig it and if you enjoy a little Gene Loves Jezebel or even DAD or The Cult in your hard rock than this should be right up your alley. https://youtu.be/SHJ8CodK7IA https://youtu.be/AIGGzPz7dtc http://www.fwoshm.com/index/T/1231-the-waiting-rain-swe
  17. This is a nice new release from Austrian band Force. According to their FB they have been tooling about since 2002... and the new release from 2016 entitled In The Name Of The Saint. https://www.facebook.com/Force.Official/
  18. Stumbled upon this really cool band from Poland and there new (2016) release entitled Snakes of Eden. Mother trucker they have releases dating back to 1989, shame I hadn't heard of them before this... https://www.facebook.com/CETIPoland/ http://www.ceti-gk.com/ Here is a track from their album from 2015:
  19. So this is an eclectically gathered mixture of who's who's in rock n roll (see below) and the album just dropped in September. http://www.purerock-records.com/releases/view/471/Stay_Tuned_1_5 "Preview of the Allstars Charity Album "Stay Tuned 1.5" by Bernhard Welz - release date: September 30, 2016 Charity for the Linda McCartney Fundraising centre. Shortly before his 40th birthday, Bernhard Welz (No Bros, Schubert In Rock) realised his plan. For “Stay Tuned” – a charity project for the Linda McCartney-Fundraising Centre – he set up an all-star band. Obviously moved by good intentions, the project presented by the Graz originated musician made quite an impression, and the artists came to him in droves. So legends like Dan McCafferty (Nazareth), Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath), Neil Murray (Whitesnake) or Carl Sentance (Krokus, Nazareth, Geezer Butler) were quickly recruited. Even Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd, Roxy Music), Steve Lukather (Toto), Mike Stern, Mark King (Level 42), Katrina Leskanich (Katrina and the Waves), Laurence Cottle (Sting, Alan Parson‘s Project) and Chris Childs (Thunder) could not resist the call. Written and arranged by Bernhard Welz, the music is a mix of Rock music and classical ballads that should generate enthusiasm everywhere. Ballads like “Let The Star Shine On You” or heavy Rockers such as “I Don’t Believe That Rock’n’Roll Is Out” clearly give us that impression. Since a considerable part of the musicians consists of Ian Paice, Don Airey, Roger Glover and Steve Morse from Deep Purple, cracking Hammonds and exhilarated guitar leads in songs such as “Traffic Night” or in the Oriental styled “Secret Land” do not come as a surprise at all. While “Fading Away” can be interpreted as a tribute to Jon Lord (Deep Purple) and Steve Lee (Gotthard), and even show hints of a John Miles vibe, “Young Free And Deadly” (original version on “Schubert In Rock”), which include a harmonica solo, can be regarded as a life attitude. Soulful songs like “Always Behind You” or “Believe Me” conclude this effort and feature a drum jam by Ian Paice as well as an incredible live version of “Child In Time”. To crown it all, Sir Paul McCartney appears with his 1970-released song “Maybe I’m Amazed” in a version from 2014. An epic song on just such an incredible album – stay tuned. Special guests: - IAN PAICE (Deep Purple) - PAUL McCARTNEY - JON LORD (Deep Purple) - DON AIREY (Deep Purple) - ROGER GLOVER (Deep Purple) - STEVE MORSE (Deep Purple) - GUY PRATT (Pink Floyd) - STEVE LUKATHER (Toto) - LEE SKLAR (Phil Collins Band) - DAN McCAFFERTY (Nazareth) - TONY MARTIN (Ex-Black Sabbath) - NEIL MURRAY (Whitesnake) - MARK KING (Level 42) - MIKE STERN - STEVE LEE (GOTTHARD) - KLAUS SCHUBERT (No Bros) - KAITNER Z DOKA (Jon Lord) - MATT FILIPPINI (Ian Paice) - CHRISTINA LUX (Jon Lord) - NEIL TAYLOR (Tears For Fears) - ERNESTO GHEZZI (Gotthard) - CARL SENTENCE (Nazareth) - AITCH McROBBIE - LAURENCE COTTLE (Alan Parsons Project) - CHRIS CHILDS (Thunder) - ROBBY MUSENBICHLER - ANDI BRUNNER (No Bros) - GERI MODER - FREDDY POTSCH - KATRINA (Ex-Katrina The Waves) - NOTA BENE SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA TRACKLIST: 1. 20. Didn't see a thread on these kiddo's. This track is nice and features a solo from Moterhead's Phil Campbell. https://www.facebook.com/FakeIdols/ http://www.fakeidols.com/
  21. Does Workaholics get better? Watched the first 4 or 5 episodes of season 1 and not sure if I should continue. Subject to opinion of course but I thought so and agreed season one to be the worst thus far. However the characters stay similar and the highjjnx does not lesson but the supporting actors get more play like their boss Alice and their dealer Karl. So in summary I would run another season as again imho season one is the least favorite this far of the three I've watched.
  22. They sure did. A mess of exciting games yesterday.
  23. Just binge watched the most excellent 1st season of The Knick and season 3 of Workaholics. Blazing through Schitt$ Creek at the moment and if you don't love Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy than this isn't for you.
  24. Apparently this is the 3rd release from PA's Stolen Rhodes and the "Save Me" track should be in everyone's mp3 players as it captures every element of an excellent tune. Very 70' but still plenty ready for radio play today. https://www.facebook.com/StolenRhodes/ http://www.stolenrhodes.com/
