  1. The comments on Youtube are so negative that they have been disabled. It's a horrible song no doubt about it.
  2. I agree...It's pretty damn good! My favourite track which I no one has mentioned yet is ''Kings Of Thunder Road''...love that chorus.
  3. Pat Torpey the Mr. Big drummer died from complications of Parkinson's Disease at the age of 64 on February 7, 2018
  4. Terry's list always makes me think we live on two different planets.
  5. My own take on the best of 2017. I'd have too tough a time listing in order, so I did an award version as my list. It was a great year for music and I hope 2018 is just as good. Best Melodic Hard Rock & Best comeback album – HAREM SCAREM – United Best keyboard filled AOR / Melodic Rock album –BROTHER FIRETRIBE – Sunbound Best 80’s Hair Rock styled album – CRAZY LIXX – Ruff Justice Best Heavy Metal album – TRIVIUM – The Sin And The Sentence Best Prog album – THRESHOLD – Legends Of The Shire Best debut – ONE DESIRE – s/t Best flew under the radar album – LIONVILLE - A World Of Fools Best Super Group album – SONS OF APOLLO – Psychotic Symphony Best grower & best sounding (production) album – H.E.A.T – Into The Great Unknown Best Frontiers Records project & Best always in the mood to listen to album – TOKYO MOTOR FIST – s/t Best album that no one on HH has heard – PYOGENESIS – A Kingdom To Disappear Best album that I love that most on HH don’t – THE DARKNESS – Pinewood Smile Best runner-up in more than one category – MIDNITE CITY – s/t Most disappointing album – STEEL PANTHER – Lower The Bar edited on May 3rd....best late to the party addition - THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA- Amber Galactic
  6. Not much singing for most of the track....odd! The guitar work sounds great, but this isn't my sorta thing.
  7. I'll be part of the minority here, like I usually am with The Darkness....but this release is absolute gold to my ears. My only complaint is the final 10 minute instrumental, I would have preferred another track with JSS singing, which he sings his balls off on this one. Easily one of the best of 2017 and makes me forget for a moment the disaster that was Dream Theater's - The Astonishing. Still give the edge to Threshold for the best Prog release of 2017 though. Why is this thread not in the Prog section? Can you shift it over Dan?
  8. ``Ghosts Of My Old Friends`` has to be one of the oddest song titles for an up beat melodic rock song ever. These guys also remind me of Loud & Clear. To make this one stand out even more they needed some flashier lead guitar to fill in the sound and to have more memorable guitar solos. A Reb Beach / Andy Timmons / Rob Marcello styled player would have greatly added to this one.
  9. I'm with Glen on this one, the songs are very simple, samey and the pace hardly ever changes. That said this is the kind on stuff I enjoy. No real standouts but no duds either. They do remind me of White Widdow, but the guitar work isn't as awesome and the choruses aren't as strong. If you're a fan of White Widdow, Danger Danger and Crazy Lixx you'll likely love this one. Likely my second favorite debut of 2017 after One Desire, also my second favorite 80's Hair Rock styled release of 2017 after Crazy Lixx.
  10. It's a grower, getting better with each spin.
  11. It's OK, the cursing is so pointless and with only ten tracks it shouldn't have any filler and there is some. The sound quality is still top notch but the songs don't do much for me. There are many better releases that came out this year.
  12. Holy Shit! Without knowing I pulled out Generation Wild about 5 minutes ago.
  13. The album actually has the fewest fillers on a Darkness release, but also doesn't have that 1 or 2 kick ass song like previous efforts. The production is ace and the musicians are at their best. Rufus Taylor....Queen's Roger Taylor's son sounds great on drums and gives the band a fuller sound. The variety of songs are immense but other than 1 or 2 duds the rest is 'pretty solid'....an intended pun on two of the released tracks.
  14. I have to agree this is the best produced Frontiers release of 2017. The TMF production isn't great but isn't Crashdiet - Savage Playground bad either.
  15. My one and only complaint is that I wish they had trimmed just a few minutes on each disc to be able to make one single disc. Having to change discs gets a bit annoying in the car ?
  16. Holy Crap this is awesome! No doubt will be in my top ten....and high up there. Teramaze provided the great Prog release of 2015, Fates Warning in 2016 and now Threshold in 2017.
  17. I think I'm more stoked about this one then any other release in the 2nd half of 2017.
  18. First 5 tracks are excellent as is Lay Me Down. The rest does little for me. A good release but I've heard better this year. Shakedown is still one of the best of 2017.
  19. She was the lead singer of the Damones. A band that had some Waltham connections.
  20. From 1:53 -2:20 is likely my favourite musical moment of 2017.
  21. The lead singer looks so greasy, with his sweaty hair and chewing gum. Lucky for them image means very little in Melodic Rock. Great song!
  22. Nice guitar solo....but the song is weak.
  23. The first track had me impressed but this one is amazing. A must buy for me, first time I get excited about Threshold in nearly ten years when Dead Reckoning blew me away.
