  1. Hey Dan, that's good to know. Does the same go for amazon.de or just the .com one?
  2. Album cover wtf? I feel kinda bad for George...
  3. I haven't seen Star Wars either. The problem is there are so many movies and TV shows I've seen with Star Wars spoofs and the famous 'I am your father' line that I know the big secret without watching the movie
  4. I feel exactly the same as some of you, know the feeling too well but can't think of too many bands right now. A definite one for me is Europe - The Final Countdown Aside from the solo (which kicks ass) I don't like the song and never listen to it when spinnin the album, would have been better off with just 9 tracks in my opinion. Also when I tell people I like Europe and think Final Countdown is a good album everyone's reaction is to either be surprised I listen to such a cheesy band or they start imitating the song or the main melody and I have to explain 'I hate that track but the album that it's on is really good'
  5. I've ordered the album directly from the band via facebook for 10 quid, looks like it's the only way to get a physical copy

Stanley's book is recommended, didn't like Ace Frehley's that much even though I think he's a cool dude. Saw Gene and Peter's books but I doubt I'd like those. Are they any good?

    Books

On the other hand, there's books I really enjoyed despite not being the biggest fan of the writer's music, like Sammy Hagar or Paul Stanley for example. Good books...

As much as I love Ratt, I've never been a Pearcy fan. He blames other people instead of admitting he made mistakes too. Also I would have liked to read more about Ratt's music, how they wrote and recorded but he rarely mentions any of this. Also I believe after reading and knowing Motley Crue's ''The Dirt'', stories about excess and decadence don't shock you that much anymore

I didn't really like Pearcy's book nor Bobby Blotzer's for that matter. I would welcome a book from Demartini so badly but that's never gonna happen. I'm halfway through the Motley Crue biography for the second time, last time I read it was like 10 years ago haha. Anyone know whether Michael Toney will release a follow up to his ''Tales from the stage'' book?
  10. Lots of good examples here. I have another one which is a bit of a different genre, but I absolutely fell in love with the Kings of Leon debut ''Youth And Young Manhood'' in 2003 and everything else since has been... disappointing or ok at best
  11. What if... RATT had recorded a full album after releasing ''Nobody Rides For Free'' in 91 or 92? That's something I think about every once in a while. Although it would be more appropriate to say what if RATT had been forced to record...
  12. I actually like both those tracks, dig the vibe. Off to check out the rest of the album....
  13. Exactly, I'd be happy if my favorite bands released an album every two years. Back in the 80s it used to be 84, 85, 86, 88 albums were just coming but I think bands think twice before putting out an album nowadays cause it's not as profitable anymore. If only current releases were better in terms of quality due to the longer time they take to produce but.... not always the case
  14. I agree, wouldn't go as far as calling the weak tracks a disaster, but yes. Although I do like track 4 (despite its weak chorus) because of the guitar riffs and licks. Overall still better than Hot Cakes, as I will be including a track or two from this album on future mix CDs for the car for sure
  15. So... what's the verdict on this one?
  16. Anybody else bummed about their farewell tour? Sure America is covered pretty well with more than a hundred shows, but Europe got screwed over royally with just 3 dates, all of them festivals!! I was looking forward when they said they were gonna start in the US and do Europe in 2015, but when I saw the dates I couldn't believe my eyes. WHY???
  17. Really getting my hopes up for this, love the H.E.A.T. debut (because of the vocals and guitar) but never REALLY got into their other albums, not even the second one they did with Kenny... If the songs are in the style of ''Feel the heat'' or ''You're lying'' then this will be a great album
  18. Maybe ''new fans'' but definitely not young ones man seriously, today's youth listens to either radio electro rap (whatever you wanna call it Iggy Azalea, Rihanna that kind of stuff) or they go into other rock genres, maybe metal.... But young people getting into Bon Jovi that's about as likely as them listening to Celine Dion
  19. Aside from 'Stranger in this town' his solo stuff has been unlistenable, imo. Anyone hating Jon Bon Jovi and thinking Richie has nothing to do with the direction Bon Jovi have taken in recent years is on a bit of a mind trip. Undiscovered Soul was very much radiopop (almost wrote radiopoo there haha) but his last album (which came out in 2012 I think), while a mixed bag, still had some good songs on it especially the ballads. Also he included some guitar solos which was nice
  20. With all due respect to Richie, but he's lost quite a few marbles himself in recent years...... his last album was ok but I can't take him seriously anymore
  21. To each his own really, if you liked it good for you. With Hot Cakes I was skeptical since they put out the first single but I'm not exactly sure why. I listened to it again recently and while the songs weren't that bad on their own (if I listened to a single song it was ok and each had its moments) as an album I thought it got pretty boring.
  22. Really liking the title track, very melancholic. Wasn't expecting this, good effort after the disappointing ''Hot Cakes''. And how good is ''Sarah O Sarah'' hahaha, real tearjerker right there
  23. I really liked that first track, but every new track has been worse than the previous one. Well not worse but not as good as the first track. Anyway it's out soon I'll make up my mind then
  24. I thought these guys had called it quits after releasing EP after EP. Good to see them coming back with a full length
