  2. its crap. I tend to agree....Nothing really pulling me into this new lineup. The two new songs are okay I guess but their sound seems to have moved to commercialized pop-rock with country undertones or something and is a long way from the sound of their first couple albums. These guys have moved off my radar and I'm hearing nothing to move them back on.
  3. Got a reply on Twitter from Steve Brown saying that they're hoping to release a single around the end of April/early May with album out in early June. I really enjoyed the last album...I think mainly because I had zero expectations from it and it sorta surprised me. Hoping they can just offer up another good dose of melodic rock on this release.
  4. I'm not sure what to think about these guys... I really liked Identity Crisis and thought those guys had a nice little thing going...Then Reece up and leaves and they're now on their third singer. Not sure if I'll invest more time in these guys or not. Will have to be something really good to pull me back in. Don't know much about the new guy....He seems to look the part though
  5. Pretty sure the crowd at the event was 500 or less from what I've heard...Think the venue only hold 1000 or something. I do hear some embellishments of the crowd on the CD in a few spots....But I don't think it's horrible by any means and doesn't sound nearly as fake as many live CD's I've heard. I mean, you can't really put out a live CD and have no crowd noise....kinda loses it's appeal.
  6. Exactly my thoughts Like all 3 of these new tunes and this one might be my favorite of them....cool rock groove IMO, even if it is a bit more commercial sounding.
  7. They are doing a release show on March 27th I think...although I'm not sure the album will actually be available. Should be out in April from what I've heard.
  8. Anybody out there get the Japan version of this album yet? Curious how Beg Beg Beg sounds.
  9. Finally got this album in the mail and have been cranking it... I think this is a pretty well done album and sounds great to me. I think they've done it the right way and it does have a polished bootleg type feel to it since it's mainly one show and not just some collection of live tracks from all over the place...as most live albums normally seem to be. I do wish a DVD came along with it to but I usually only watch live DVD's once anyways, so no big deal. Having been lucky enough to see H.e.a.t live in 2014, I think this disc is a pretty fair representation of their show and does a good job capturing their energy on stage. I think those that like what H.e.a.t has done on their past couple albums and like hearing a live presentation will enjoy this album.
  10. I've been wondering the same... I heard one interview where it seemed to be suggested that the Canadian shows may not have an opener...Or might just have a local band opening. It was also suggested that the Canadian shows might be slightly extended Leppard shows in the 2 hour range. Don't quote me on that though as I haven't seen anything else. Gotta think the longer it goes the more likely it will be that it will just be Leppard playing those shows.
  11. I don't buy very many live albums either....I only own a couple... I think mostly for me, there is all kinds of bootleg live content that is generally fairly available and it usually is better than official releases. It seems to me that usually, official releases are recorded over numerous shows and edited so much that they almost become unrecognizable. They always cut out the cool dialogue which is what makes lives shows unique to me. I like live recordings that are one show and basically a snapshot of a point in time. That said, I'm definitely getting this one. H.e.a.t is a band with whom I haven't seen all kinds of high-quality bootlegs floating around and this disc would seem to be what I like...1 show (except for probably a song or two that they had to replace due to technical difficulties). Also, I so enjoyed seeing these guys for the first time during this past year so it'll be nice having a high-quality release to remind me of the show I saw and that captures some of the energy of seeing them live.
  12. New promo video posted for this album that features Inferno: Anybody seen the Japan track listing mentioned anywhere yet? I know Beg Beg Beg is the bonus track but I'm wondering if it's inserted somewhere in the set or if it's the last track. Just wouldn't seem right having it as the last track since it's not a song they close with.
  13. I'm generally not fond of live albums either....Most of the time, they're recorded over a whole tour and they are so over-produced that they end up just sounding like a greatest hits CD with stuff we've already heard before. A perfect example of that was Def Leppard's Mirrorball. I'm a huge Leppard fan but hated that release. In fairness to them though, I think they got it right with the Viva Hysteria release...love that one. That said though, this release does look great. It's basically one show and we're talking about a band that is generally playing smaller venues and that many people haven't even gotten the chance to see live. And their energy in a live setting really brings new life to many of their songs.... So really looking forward to this one. Not sure if I'll do the Japanese version. I don't mind Beg Beg Beg.....But I wonder if that song will be last in the Japan track listing or if they will sprinkle it in the middle? Bonus tracks usually seem to be last but it would be weird having that song as the last song since they don't close their sets with that song. Would hope they would slot it in somewhere in the middle of the set.
  14. Lineup looks okay but not good enough to convince me to make a 7-8 hour drive to see it. I wish M3 would open up a bit and start including some bands like H.e.a.t, Eclipse, Crazy Lixx, etc, etc instead of seemingly the same worn-out bands. You'd think the festival would want some younger blood that could help the future viability of the festival and the whole genre.
  15. For anybody interested, I've heard through the grape vine that these guys are targeting March/April 2015 for the release of their first full album.
  16. I first heard the song "Everything" playing between sets at Melodic Rock Fest 4 in Chicago back in October. I heard the song and it was almost immediately stuck in my head. I had to run over to the sound guy and ask who was singing the song and he told me "Station". Ended up checking them out a little more and liking what I've seen. Looking forward to the release of their full album.
  17. Also liking the new tune... I don't get into much female fronted stuff for some reason but I have to admit I enjoyed their last album. Lizzy really can sing and plays the "front-woman" part well. Looking forward to this album and will likely pre-order it.
  18. I agree too. Basically, I'm to the point where I'm gonna ignore anything this guy does because I know it won't be long term. Maybe I'm just bitter because I was taking a liking to Tango Down and their Identity Crisis CD still gets quite a bit of play. I thought that band had a pretty good thing going. It's obvious that Reece just wants to sing on as many albums as he can and isn't looking to do anything long term. As a result, I'm not investing my time anymore in his stuff as basically everything he does is just a side project. I agree. When you sing on 10,000 different CDs in 5 years, I think it becomes overkill. Stick with one damn band please.
  19. Thought Call to Action was an odd choice for next single/video...wouldn't be in my top 5 songs on the album. I personally would rather see a Girls of the 80's video...lots of good subject matter they could use for that
  20. I couldn't agree more....although, pretty much all their songs sound great live And agree that Tearing Down The Walls is the ballad of the year and is awesome live with Erik strumming the guitar and it being such an easy song for the crowd to join along to. It was a great feeling at MRF4 in Chicago looking over at my wife singing along to that song when I had basically dragged her to the concert and she had virtually no idea who H.e.a.t was. Their energy and music is just infectious The band had said in interviews about the Tearing Down The Walls album that they wanted to write songs that would fit well and enhance their live show...And I think the mission was accomplished.
  21. Are they on a Def Leppard kick or something? First of all, the album title sounds like something that should be a Def Leppard album title....Combination of "Armageddon It" and "Adrenalize"... And then there is a new song called "Love Bites"...Hmm...
  22. I have no problem with it and frankly, I think think are many labels selling direct on Ebay as well and it isn't always second hand material that you are getting. And if it is second hand, well...Somebody paid for it to begin with. It's no different than a used record store like somebody mentioned above. It's the way of the world...Used cars, used video games, used whatever...Is what it is. Technology, file sharing and the "want it now" digital age are the bigger problems for CD's.
  23. Have 3 CD's in my car at the moment that I'm rotating through... H.e.a.t - Tearing Down The Walls Crazy Lixx S/T Sunstrike - Rock Your World Maybe eventually I'll listen to somebody that isn't from Sweden
  24. I had to resurrect this thread as I was thinking about what my favorite new album was in 2014 and settled on this one. I had commented on this album earlier in the thread but it was essentially my initial impressions. And at the time, I was fully engulfed in the new H.e.a.t album and not sure I really gave this album a fair shake. After spending more time listening to this album this year it has really grown on me. I've basically moved past some of the cliche lyrics and just like it for what it is...great sounding melodic AOR/rock with a little bit of an edge to it at times. It really sounds to me like some mixture of late 80's Europe and H.e.a.t. Songs like Rock Your World, Right Track, Never Let You Go & Roll the Dice have gotten a lot of plays this year...But honestly, I pretty much play the whole album straight through and enjoy it all. It's just smooth, well produced, flows well and has some "punch" at times. I've seen posted on Facebook that these guys are in the studio working on release #2 so will be interesting to see how they follow this album up.
  25. Pretty simple...What's your 2014 album of the year, song of the year and debut album of the year? For me, album of the year is H.e.a.t's Tearing Down The Walls by a landslide. I love everything about this album...probably my favorite album of the past 10-15 years. Song of the year is tough since there are so many...And I know others probably wouldn't agree...But for me personally it's Shot At Redemption by H.e.a.t. That song really got me excited about their new album and I've probably listened to it more than any other song this year. It's also the song that got my wife into H.e.a.t and convinced her to take a trip to Chicago to see them at MRF4...Which was an awesome night And for debut of the year, my personal favorite is Rock Your World from Sunstrike. It's a good dose of Swedish AOR/Melodic rock that sort of reminds me of H.e.a.t's debut release in it's sound and style. Highlights for me are Right Track, Never Let You go, Rock Your World and Roll The Dice. Interested to hear what others liked this year....helps highlight some stuff I may have missed or not paid as much attention to as I should've
