  1. Nice! A Great fucking week off for me and off to see my Dad, then up to the Lake District on Monday for a few days, then to finish, Firefest next Saturday and a meet up with TIM(2) and Glen. FUCK YEAH! Now that's what I call a FUCK YEAH! Say hi to the chaps, party hard and don't you fuckers dare leave a drop of beer at Firefest! Shame you can't fucking be there mate, as it will be an awesome day with some truly great fucking bands.
  2. The last time I heard Chicago it was their S/T......still have it on vinyl around here someplace.....always liked the songs 'Does anybody really know what time it is?' & 'I'm a Man'.......haven't heard of King of Hearts, I'll see what it goes for on eBay, the COW release seems reasonably priced so I'll see if I can get it.....how about West of Sunset...? I heard "Giving My Heart Away" the other day and I thought it was quite good.... The problem with Westcoast is that it's generally just ballads, and you kinda have to be in the mood for it. The West of Sunset is good, especially now it's reasonably priced (though "Giving My Heart Away" is the best song). CLIF MAGNESS "Solo" is another - though maybe more AOR than Westcoast. Actually the WORK OF ART album from last year is genuinely one of the top Westcoast discs of the last 15-20 years or so (I know Jez/Glen will agree with me here). L.A COWBOYS "Endless Summer" is another KILLER Westcoast disc that has enough AOR to keep you interested - though think was JAP only so may not be cheap. Agreed on Work Of Art mate, one of the best in recent year. My list would be pretty endless on the subject of Westcoast and Hi-tech stuff, but you have named Clif Mageness, Chicago, West Of Sunset which would all be included for sure. For the Hi-tech angle my favourite would definitely be Marc Jordan's 'Talking Through Pictures' disc and Zappacosta's - S/T, both of which are absolutely stunning and for Westcoast stuff, then definitely Toto (probably IV - Of course) and the mighty Airplay, although once again there would be many inclusions for top recommendations.

  5. Rammstein - Liebe Ist Für Alle Da Motley Crue - Saints Of Los Angeles Scar Symmetry - Dark Matter Dimensions
  6. Your used to them ain't ya mate?
  7. There's a game for Geoff , SamboraRocks86 (MP) and the Wotster to start playing then!! Which means we're either an old women, a puff, a social outcasts or a twat. I have no idea what a puff is, but Sambora's into politics so I guess we can guess what he counts as. Although I consider this unkind, I assume you're calling Ian an old woman? Very unsportsmanlike. Which leaves me to be the social outcast... outcast because of my rugged handsomeness and inability to tolerate horrible music. I may be a rebel, but gliding my hand through my slick, heavily moosed hair, this feels right to me. A puff is a big 'Sheila' mate Well my branch-sized schlong tells me that's not me, so it's official, I'm the social outcast. I think you mean a twig brother! A puff is a poofter mate! aka a big Sheila

  9. Billy bollocks....might have to buy this again, what are the bonus tracks like old bean? The 3 bonus tracks are all good and are as follows. Feels Good (Grand Prix) Non LP B-side Room 155 (Unreleased demo) Somewhere Tonight (Unreleased demo w/ Bernie Shaw) DId you see that Rock Candy are re-issuing the mighty 'Reggie Knighton Band' album mid November along with Autograph' 'That's The Stuff' (with both 'American Woman' & 'Six String Fever') and the Fandango 'Cadillac' album?. The Reggie Knighton is well worth your time and effort mate - very quirky stuff, but fantastic all the same.
  10. How long did it take you to think of that? I'm hoping all day. 90 seconds. When it comes to anything condom-related, 90 seconds is usually my average. I'm gifted like that. That's what your girlfriend told me, so I can vouch for that. Nice. Please don't tell my wife about my girlfriend. My lips are sealed

  16. What's the Riot-Live like Jez?Seen it on Ebay going pretty cheap and wouldn't mind picking it up but still not sure. It's a nice disc from their UK tour in 1980 with 7 tracks from the Hammersmith Odeon show and all of their 40 + minute set from the The very first Monsters Of Rock show in 1980 (2nd band of the day and a great gig I remember very well). All in all a great live recording from a band nearing their peak in my opinion. Funnily enough....although the front sleeve of the CD is identical to the original vinyl version the tracks are completely different. The vinyl release is about 30 minutes long, more of an E.P. it was, and features Rhett Forrester on vocals (and has a blinding version of Loved by You on it)....strangely that has never been released on shiny disc. It was recorded at the Peppermint Lounge in NY 1982....I actually have a boot of the full gig that the E.P. came from which is a pretty blistering gig. The Riot Live CD came a lot later and I actually bought (the Jap import too!) hoping the E.P./mini album would be on it...sadly it isn't, but it's still a fantastic album. I never knew that mate. Not having owned the original vinyl (I wasn't old enough )I always presumed it was the original EP. + bonus tracks. 10 points to Sir Nick
  17. 2 nice ones Martin. Love that Holocaust disc

All in all a great live recording from a band nearing their peak in my opinion. Is that the same one that Metal Blade reiussed years back with most of their other discs or was that from a later lineup? I know they have a few live albums but the only one I have is the 'shine on' disc from the 'Inishmore' tour. I think there's another called Live in Japan from the early 90's but I could be wrong. It's the Metal Blade re-issue of the 1980 EP. with the bonus tracks Wes.
