  1. I am sooo late getting on the wildstreet bandwagon. What's wrong with me. I got this in the mail today and color me impressed. Too bad you only get like seven songs. But they definitely packed a lot of punch in those few songs. Loved those harmony vocals.
  2. Got this one in the mail today. Talk about fast shipping. I wish every place I ordered from was this fast. As for the disc, I just got done spinning it. Man I am one happy camper. These guys ripped it up and had me begging for more. Very cool stuff. These guys drip with attitude.
  3. Thanks for the link heaven&bell. I appreciate it. I also found where you can listen to the entire songs at WWW.planethelix.com It seems to be a half and half type of album. But its a short play time of only 25 minutes. Still sounded better than that crappy Christmas cd twisted sister put out imo.
  4. For both albums? Have you heard 'Honest Planet' before? I guess I can understand the strained vocal comment, but I love their songs. I only clicked on the link you posted for FNA Records. I guess the samples I heard were from 'Honest Planet'. Just couldn't take it. Does he sound different on their debut album or something? Nah, his voice is a little out there. Personally doesn't bother me too much because of the great songs. If I recall correctly he almost sounds a little like the dude from Shy Tiger, doesn't he? I'd take shy tiger over these guys anyday. Shy tiger was at least fairly catchy.
  5. There's a label or printed artwork completely covering the disc. There's nothing showing but the little hole in the middle. There's no numbers or lettering that I can see. If demon doll is doing these up themselves then they are doing a darn good job.
  6. Yeah I know about the new vagabond bones cd coming out. That is sounding pretty good so far too. I've seen the track list and everything for their Christmas cd but I just can't find anywhere to even hear one track from it. Supposedly it was even sold in walmart stores up there. Very strange indeed.
  7. I just found out that Helix did a hard rocking Christmas album last year called "A Heavy Mental Christmas". Maybe I'm not searching hard enough but I cannot find any sound samples anywhere. I does love me a good rockin' Christmas album when it's done right. Has anybody heard this? Thumbs up, thumbs down?

  9. Yep, I hear ya mate! I got my package yesterday (all CDs wrapped and in cases, fast shipping) and they all look excellent. Two were definitely silver (Swingin' Thing and Alleycat Scratch) but I think the rest were not - BUT, as you say, it's very hard to tell. So how the hell did I find out, as I generally care very little about this? Well, the only way I found out they weren't silver pressed was because my stupid f*cked up car stereo doesn't play CDRs anymore - only silver-pressed. If not for that I don't reckon I'd ever have known. Anyway, hoping to pick this one up in my next order from them. That and the other one you mentioned. Also, about this. I believe a lot of the stuff there is older stuff. I know the Sexcess CD I got is. Hey mate, can you do me a favour? Does it say who the cover model is on that CD? Is it Amy Reid? Haha, no it doesn't say who the cover model is. I had to go and look up who this Amy Reid is that you're talking about. I dunno, it does kinda look like her in several of the photos I saw (that is, when I actually looked up at her face, lol). I typed her name into a search engine and found that she's got her own website where her fingers were doing most curious things I ordered the Debbie Ray cd one day after Slam Alley, so with any luck that one will be here tomorrow. Count me impressed with Demon Doll Records so far.
  10. I listened to a couple of those samples but I couldn't get past the guy's voice. It sounded like he was in pain.
  11. Got this in the mail today. Talk about fast shipping. I think this might be a CDR, but if it is, it's the best looking CDR I've ever gotten. It's got glossy artwork and a nice looking picture on top of the disc. I put this side by side with a silver-pressed disc and it appears to be a little darker than a silver pressed disc. But, unless Geoff had mentioned it earlier, I never would have even noticed. It's even got a barcode on the back. But, enough about that. This was some kickin' hard rock. I even hear some touches of Slam St. Joan mixed in here. Good stuff. It's a shame it's only five tracks. On a sidenote, I thought this was a current band, but the copyright info inside the artwork says 1995. Either way, I'm a happy camper. Hard-edged sleaze fans should eat this one up.
  12. I just ordered the debbie ray cd today too....I have ordered a bunch of their stuff before and most are nice looking cd-rs with the exception of just a few that are silver pressed...but I had to buy that debbie ray cd no matter what...great stuff... Yeah, I'm stoked to get it. They only had five sound samples I believe it was. So that means there's like 5 or 6 more songs still to be heard when it gets here. I love that hard-edged sleaze stuff when its done right. Maybe we'll get lucky and have it be one of the silver pressed exceptions.
  13. Well, don't feel too bad. I missed it last night too when I was on the site. Now I had to pay full shipping twice, aargh.
  14. Hey gang, I feel like I've struck gold two days in a row from the same website. I was just listening to some of the other bands that Demon Doll Records had to offer when I came across Debbie Ray "Artficial Misery". I listened to all five sound samples and immediately just ordered my copy. What a great sounding sleazy guitar driven hard rock band. This one cost $11.99 but it is a full length release. I also posted about Slam Alley last night which is featured on the same website. Here's the link so you can decide for yourself. I know Geoff was mentioning that this website might be selling nice-looking CDRs. I'll let ya know when I get them. Even so, I'll take what I can get since these are sounding so cool. http://www.demondollrecords.com/Debbie_Ray...ial_Misery.html
  15. Hmm, well that will suck if it's a CDR. But, I guess if that's the only way to get it, I'll have to accept it. And yeah, that cover is smokin'. Yeah, as I say I'm not 100% sure but I have the Pretty Wild disc and that's a nicely dressed up CDR so I just assume the others around that price will be too. Man I wish I'd bought it. The cover was seriously so close to dragging me in. Did you hear the sound samples to it yet?
  16. Wow, nice find finally, lol. I may actually consider picking this one up. Definitely some rockin' stuff here. "Scream" and "A Thousand Years" really stood out for me. I loves me a thick meaty guitar sound.

  18. I just randomly stumbled across this band a few minutes ago. I took one listen to the sound samples and immediately ordered my copy. To me they sound like a perfect mix of Skid Row meets Dirty Rhythm. Definitely some kickin' sleazy hard rock here from what I just heard. The 5 song EP cd is only $8.99 which isn't half bad. Here's the link to hear them and order: http://www.demondollrecords.com/Slam_Alley_-_21_Fire.html
  19. I caught their video the other day for the title track I believe it was. It was not enough to make me track down any further samples. A bit premature maybe, but usually a band's single is one of their strongest songs.
  20. I always loved that song... sadly I can't remember any of the rest. Ha, I'm actually drawing a blank right now as to the chorus myself. I know it was catchy though. I just remember the start of the track when he yells "She's got diamond disease". Good thing I just ordered a copy today to refresh my memory. It was just one of those random songs that my Ipod absolutely loved too. When I played it on random this would play at least once more days than not. I never minded, though. The chorus is something like "One heart, one life, one ass, one ambition / all in the name of love did you get what you need / One tree, one love, one cat, one ambition / all in the name of love she's got the diamond disease." Accurate as hell? You bet. Haha, I like that. Now I'm gonna be thinking of your lyrics when I finally get the cd again and start busting out laughing when it hits that chorus. I think you just permanently tainted the song for me. Nice going Geoff, lol.

  22. THE PERFECT GETAWAY with Milla Jovavich (I don't know how to spell her last name and am too lazy to look it up right now). A decent little suspense thriller set in Hawaii. Be warned, you have to wait until the end for the violence.
  23. I picked up Bang Camaro "II" at a used cd store yesterday. I haven't listened to it yet so I don't know what the verdict is.
