  4. Yea, I know all about it, believe me... of course the tickets go on sale in like three weeks and I know damn well I ain't gonna have $60 to spare for one ... fuckin' diapers and baby formula are so damned EXPENSIVE... My reporter friend may or may not be able to pull the same strings he pulled last time Maiden came round (back in Oct. '06) and get me in as his "plus one" if he gets comp tickets for the gig, I ain't pinning all my hopes on it, but it would be sweet... otherwise I'm gonna have to take a pass this time Oh, and as for the arena, it's commonly known as "The Meadowlands" because that's the area of NJ in which it's located, but that's never been its official name. When it was first built in the 80s it was the Brendan Byrne Arena (named after the NJ governor who was instrumental in getting the project built), then in the 90s it became the Continental Airlines Arena, and now (within the last few weeks) it's become known as the "Izod Center." Although everybody still pretty much calls it "The Meadowlands" anyway. Man I am pulling for Ya to go Man.. No really I am...... Yea, ALMOST Everyone calls it the Meadowlands.. But, remember taking that chick Melissa to see Metallica back in like 1992 and Her thinking it was the "Metal Lands"???? I still don't think She was all there......
  5. Found this on blabbermouth.... IRON MAIDEN To Play Trondheim, Norway Next Summer - Nov. 3, 2007 According to the online edition of the Norwegian newspaper Adresseavisen, IRON MAIDEN will perform next summer at the Lerkendal Stadium in Trondheim, Norway as part of the band's "Somewhere Back In Time World Tour". An official announcement, including an exact date for the concert, is expected to be made in the next few days. IRON MAIDEN last week announced the following North American tour dates as part of the first leg of their "Somewhere Back In Time" world tour 2008: Feb. 19 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Forum Mar. 14 - East Rutherford, NJ @ Izod Center (formerly Continental Airlines Arena) Mar. 16 - Toronto, ONT, Canada @ Air Canada Centre IRON MAIDEN will fly into the USA especially for the East Rutherford show from Puerto Rico the day before and depart for Toronto the day after on a specially commissioned and customized Boeing 757, flown by airline captain and MAIDEN vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The Astraeus 757, decked out in MAIDEN and Eddie designs, will carry the band, road crew and other personnel of around 70 people plus over 12 tons of equipment. This first leg of the "Somewhere Back In Time" world tour opens in Mumbai India on February 1, and continues through Australia and Japan before arriving in Los Angeles. The entourage then fly to Mexico then the band's first-ever concerts in Costa Rica and Columbia, and then on to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Puerto Rica and New York, before finishing in Toronto, Canada, on March 16. Over the 45-day period it is anticipated that MAIDEN will play to well over 400,000 fans in 21 cities in 10 countries, flying close to 50,000 miles in the specially refitted plane. To tie in with forthcoming 2008 releases on DVD of the classic "Live After Death" concert video (full details coming soon) this tour, aptly entitled "Somewhere Back In Time", will revisit the band's history by focusing almost entirely on the '80s in both choice of songs played and the stage set, which will be based around the legendary Egyptian production of the 1984-85 "Powerslave Tour". This will arguably be the most elaborate and spectacular show the band have ever presented, and will include some key elements of their "Somewhere In Time" tour of 1986/7, such as the Cyborg Eddie. The second leg of the tour will take place mid-May to mid-June with further concerts in North America, followed by the third leg European tour, extensively covering most of Europe in stadiums and major festivals. In total the band is expected to play to well in excess of one and a half million fans during the entire tour. IRON MAIDEN's latest album, "A Matter of Life and Death", has sold 183,000 copies in the United States since its August 2006 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Hey Keith?? They did make me laugh once when I read an interview with'em, they were on SBK Records, which at the time was also the home of Vanilla Ice, and when they asked the band if they'd ever met Vanilla or had any comments about him, they said "We're not gonna say anything bad about Vanilla Ice, cuz that dude is paying for our tour bus" Ok that's pretty damn funny..... Wow, yea they DO kinda make Extreme look like Cannibal Corpse, and that takes some doing......
