  1. New lyric video for 'The Miracle Of Life'.
  2. From Escape Music: John Elefante was born in New York and moved to Long Beach, California at an early age. He sang and performed drums for his family band “The Brotherhood” in his youth and has always maintained a close working relationship with his brother Dino. His career really took off in 1981 when he auditioned for lead vocals and keyboards for Kansas in 1981. He got the job despite stiff competition and went on to feature on “vinyl confessions” and “Drastic Measures” writing such songs as “Chasing shadows”, “Fight Fire with Fire” and “Right Away”. He also took lead vocals on the huge mainstream hit song “Play the Game Tonight”. In the mid to late eighties he was involved with some Christian artists such as “Sweet Comfort Band” and “Petra” as a producer, etc. John took a heavier direction in the late eighties / early nineties when he formed a record label with Dino called “Pakaderm” and went on to create the band “Mastedon” who enjoyed much success during the nineties. If that wasn’t enough he continued at breakneck speed as a label owner and producer and turned his hand to a couple of solo releases “Windows of Heaven” in 1995 and “Corridors” in 1997. In 1999 he released “Defying Gravity” which was his most rewarding solo album to date, and Revolution of Mind. John also 3 time Grammy award winner and has been nominated seven times, he and his brother Dino also wrote and coproduced the song “young and innocent” which appeared on the multi platinum album soundtrack St Elmo‘s fire By the year 2010 John had been involved with 100 or so major albums in one way or another. His songwriting abilities shone through again in the 2013 release “On my way to the sun” which featured Kansas members David Ragsdale and Rich Williams. It's now 2022 and John is still very much at the forefront of the music scene and here we have “The Amazing Grace”, 11 tracks of the highest quality rock. The song “Stronger Now” has already had an airing on “youtube” and has had received many positive reviews. If you haven’t already done so, it’s well worth checking out. 8. Press release from MelodicRock Classics: Coming soon to: http://www.melodicrockclassics.com Jesse Harms is an American musician, songwriter and singer, who has spent a lifetime writing and recording songs as well as playing live with some of rock’s biggest names. Born in Massachusetts and raised in Berkeley, California, Jesse began playing the piano at 8 years old and studied classical music until he was 15. His first band Rags featured a young Pat Thrall and Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger). Following that, with Pat Thrall's help, Jesse met Alphonso Johnson (Weather Report) who was trying to form a progressive rock band for Electra/Asylum Records. After moving to L.A. Jesse spent the next year writing songs with Alphonso, forming a band that included Vinnie Appice (Dio, Black Sabbath) and Joe Turano (Michael Bolton) and making a record for Electra/Asylum which the label then dropped before its release. A stint recording and touring with John Hiatt followed, before joining Pat Thrall again for the Hughes/Thrall album tour, playing arenas as the opening act for Santana. But that album also had poor sales and was dissolved. Shortly after that tour, producer Keith Olsen called Jesse to do some additional recording on a single from ‘Three Lock Box’ an album he had made for Sammy Hagar. Sammy had been hiring a studio keyboard player and a studio backup singer to make his last two records and he had nobody in his band to reproduce the parts on tour, so in late 1982 Jesse joined his band. From there Jesse co-wrote, recorded and toured with Sammy through to and including his ultra-successful ‘VOA’ album, reuniting again for ‘I Never said Goodbye’ CD with Eddie Van Halen on bass. The album included one of Jesse's songs ‘Back Into You’. During that time Jesse got a call from Ted Templeman again to work on David Lee Roth's platinum ‘Eat 'Em and Smile’ album. Jesse turned down Roth's offer to join his band in order to work on his own songwriting. Most of 1986 was spent trying to form his own band under the guidance of John Kolodner at Geffen Records. In 1988 one of Jesse's songs, ‘Walk On Water’ was recorded by Eddie Money and went on to reach #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was a number one Rock track as well as a number one MTV video. That lead to Jesse touring with Money which lead directly to time writing songs with Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon). At the time REO was inactive but with the support of management the band was reformed. Jesse's friend Dave Amato (Ted Nugent, Cher) was added on guitar and Brian Hitt (Wang Chung) on drums. The subsequent album ‘The Earth, A Small Man, His Dog And A Chicken’, was co-produced by Jesse and included ‘Live It Up’, which reached #6 on the Rock Chart and 5 more of his songs. During 1990 Jesse also wrote a song with Sammy Hagar, ‘Fallen From Grace’ that appeared on Heart's Double Platinum CD ‘Brigade’. Jesse left REO in 1991 to get married and focus on Songwriting for MCA Music. 1991 through 1995 were spent in L.A. as a staff writer producing songs that appeared on CD's by Patty Smyth (Gold Record), Bad English (European #1), MSG, and Johnny Van Zandt etc. In 1996 Jesse co-wrote a song (Both Sides Now) with Sammy Hagar, which brought them back together. In 1997 Jesse worked on Sammy's ‘Marching To Mars’ CD playing keyboards and co-writing on that and the three additional studio albums that followed as well as touring constantly with the Waboritas. More recently, Jesse produced and wrote with acclaimed blues artist Guitar Shorty on two albums, the latter of which won the Handy Blues Award. In 2005 Jesse purchased a Marin Music Center in Novato, California which he operated until he sold it in 2019. Jesse compiled 11 of his songs onto his one and only solo record ‘Best Of What I Got’, which was released independently in 2004. Jesse continues to write and record new music and a couple of new songs are included as part of his career spanning box set ‘All Sides’.

  11. From blabbermouth.net: Legendary rockers JOURNEY have set "Freedom" as the title of their long-awaited new album, to be released later in the year. Founding JOURNEY guitarist Neal Schon shared the news of the LP's title and track listing in an Instagram post earlier today (Wednesday, February 16). He wrote in an accompanying caption: "Teaser … it's coming and it's loaded @journeymusicofficial @nealschon @bmg_us @frontiersmusicsrl". "Freedom" track listing, according to Schon: 01. Together We Run (4:49) 02. Don't Give Up On Us (5:23) 03. Still Believe In Love 04. You Got The Best Of Me (5:33) 05. Live To Love Again (5:30) 06. The Way We Used To Be (3:35) 07. Come Away With Me (4:02) 08. After Glow (5:22) 09. Let It Rain (4:40) 10. Holdin On (3:14) 11. All Day All Night (3:38) 12. Don't Go (4:58) 13. United We Stand (5:05) 14. Life Rolls On (4:57) 15. Beautiful As You Are (7:10) JOURNEY recently completed a month-long Las Vegas residency at The Theater at Virgin Hotels. Filling in on bass for JOURNEY for the six shows was Todd Jensen, a veteran musician who has played for various artists, including the bands SEQUEL, HARDLINE andHARLOW, as well as David Lee Roth, Ozzy Osbourne, Steve Perry, Alice Cooper andPaul Rodgers. Also part of JOURNEY's current lineup is returning drummer Deen Castronovo, who shared the drum duties in the band last year with Narada Michael Walden. Walden, bassist Randy Jackson and keyboardist/backing singer Jason Derlatkaall joined JOURNEY in 2020 following the band's acrimonious split with drummer Steve Smithand bassist Ross Valory. Jackson — who previously played with JOURNEY during the mid-1980s — was forced to miss all the recent gigs because he is reportedly recovering from back surgery. Prior to the residency, Jackson had been replaced at JOURNEY's 2021 shows by Marco Mendoza, who had played several shows in 2019 with Castronovo and JOURNEYguitarist Neal Schon under the "Neal Schon's Journey Through Time" banner. In June 2021, JOURNEY shared a new single, "The Way We Used To Be". The song was the multi-platinum band's first new music since 2011's album "Eclipse", and the first track released by the band's revamped lineup. "The Way We Used To Be" marks Walden andDerlatka's first studio recordings with the band, and Jackson's first since 1986's "Raised On Radio". The song was produced by Narada Michael Walden at his Tarpan Studios, with co-production by Schon and Cain. Since the group's formation in 1973, JOURNEY has earned 19 top 40 singles, 25 gold and platinum albums, and has sold nearly 100 million albums globally. Their "Greatest Hits" album is certified 15 times-platinum, making JOURNEY one of the few bands to ever have been diamond-certified, and their song "Don't Stop Believin'" has been streamed over one billion times alone. JOURNEY was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017, and 2018's co-headlining tour with DEF LEPPARD was the band's most successful tour to date, landing them in the Top 10 year-end touring chart with more than 1 million tickets sold, and earning them the prestigious Billboard "Legends Of Live" touring award. March 2019 saw the release of "Escape & Frontiers Live In Japan", a live DVD/CD set from their concert at the Budokan in Tokyo featuring the band's first-ever performances of the albums "Escape" and"Frontiers" in their entirety. JOURNEY has also received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and were inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall Of Fame. Additionally, the band is the subject of the award-winning documentary "Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey" about the band's resurgence upon adding Arnel Pineda as lead singer after founding member Neal Schon discovered the Philippines native on YouTube. JOURNEY will team up with TOTO for a North American tour in February, March, April and May. Last August, Schon gave a college radio simulcast interview to WMSC and WNUW where he discussed the progress of the songwriting and recording sessions for the band's upcoming studio album. He said: "I learned how to play keyboards better than ever during the pandemic, which I'd never really done before. And that's where our first single ['The Way We Used To Be'] came from. [I sent it to] Jonathan [Cain, keyboards], and he did the lyrics on it and put a rough vocal on it. And then we had Arnel sing it, and we cut it and re-cut it in the studio, and it was just released. And a lot of people went, 'Wow, man. I love it.' 90 percent of people love it; the other 10 percent went, 'I don't think it sounds like JOURNEY.' I go, 'I never wrote it to be a JOURNEY song.'" According to Schon, he and his bandmates had written over 30 new songs for the upcomingJOURNEY record. "Some of 'em are unmistakably JOURNEY without sounding like another song that we have; it just sounds like a new version of the band," he said. "It's ballistic, man. And there's no lack of guitar on this record. So I'm excited about it getting out there. I think any guitar player out there is gonna love this record, because I'm just kind of unleashing on this record — like I do a lot live, but sometimes hold back in the studio. I don't think it's O.D.ing on the guitar at all and going overboard, but I like to check out the times and where I see music going. I usually have a pretty good gut instinct about it, and I feel like the late '60s, the time and era of early Jeff Beck with Rod Stewart and [LED] ZEPPELIN when they first came out, Jimi Hendrix, the CREAM with [Eric] Clapton and Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, that whole era, there's a lot of younger kids out there, younger generation, that never got to experience that era. So I'm feeling like that is the era that I grew up in and that's what I truly love doing and the type of music I love playing, so I'm going more there and I'm writing for that, to be able to do that on stage. And I think it's really gonna trip some people out, when we finally do get this album out there and can combine it with all the hits that we do have." He continued: "There's certain songs that are being mixed by Bob Clearmountain, that mixed our 'Raised On Radio' record, and he's made it sound really amazing, really pulled it together. You have mixers out there sometimes that have this incredible ability to take work that you've done throughout a year, even though they were recorded at separate times, and different sounds here and there, and they pull it all together and they make it sound like it's a tight album that has a focus sound-wise." Neal added: "The whole album, there's not a filler on the record; that's what I can tell you. I look at it, and I'm listening to it now, and many others that have known our music for a long time that have very good ears have said, 'Look, this is the modern-day-and-age 'Escape'. I think this could be the next 'Escape' for you guys.' And I think that's a bold statement, but honest to God, I feel like it's that good."

  13. New video for 'Make It Count'. From the man himself: "One of these songs that took a slight change during the making of it. Starts out as a ballad really and then later turns into something quite different. Despite the genre that I’ve delved into for the last 40 years, I guess It’s no secret that I’m a big pop fan as well. And one of the bands I grew up with in the '70s and that always influenced me big time were ABBA and quite frankly, they are some of the greatest songwriters ever in the music industry, if you ask me. So, when Chris Laney [producer] brought up the opportunity to have legendary ABBA guitarist Lasse Wellander playing on this song, there was no way I could resist that. He does a great job and I’m honored to have him playing on one of my songs. Hope you’ll like the song as much as I do...." - Ronnie Atkins, February 2022 From Frontiers: Respected Danish hard rock singer/songwriter Ronnie Atkins has announced the upcoming release of his new studio album, “Make It Count” on March 18, 2022. Pre-order/save "Make It Count" on CD/LP/Digital HERE: https://orcd.co/atkins LP is available on limited edition white vinyl and limited edition red vinyl. Red vinyl is exclusive to Frontiers webstores. The electrifying melodic hard rock masterpiece "Make It Count" will be released almost one year to the day after the release of Atkins' last solo album, the critically acclaimed "One Shot". Rather than hyperbole from the record label, we'll let Ronnie tell the story of "Make It Count" in his own words.... "Me and my great team of musicians followed exactly the same procedure as we did with "One Shot," since I still feel a bit like I am racing against time because of my diagnosis. So, I basically sent my songs to Chris [Laney, producer], who would then work on a demo. When we were satisfied with the arrangements, I would then record the vocals and then the individual musicians laid down their tracks. I already had quite a few ideas from when "One Shot" was released back in March 2021 and continued writing on and off through the spring and summer of 2021. The album was then recorded between April and October 2021," explains Atkins. "Let me also state that I felt pretty good during the whole process, at least physically. :-) And this time, I had the chance to actually meet with some of the musicians in-person because the Covid-19 restrictions were not as tough as they were back in 2020 when we recorded the last album," adds Atkins. As for the music, Ronnie says, "Once again it was quite an easy going process!! Some of the songs were written on piano and some of them on guitar. I write the way I write, which means that the melodies and toplines are the first priority. If I feel I got a good song with the right chord structure and a strong melody that sticks in my head, then I know I’m on to something good and from there it can only get better. :-). And that’s when I send it on to Chris Laney, who then listens to it with a new set of ears and comes back with his input about the arrangement and additional little bits and pieces. As said, it is an easy going process since we’re on the same page and that’s a great way of collaborating. Style wise, it’s basically just melodic pop/rock songs, so to speak, that we turn into something suitable for those who followed me all those years. To me, a good song is a good song and then it’s a matter of how you wrap it up." He continues, "Finally, the great thing about doing this is that I don’t have to argue with anyone whether it’s too pop or too lightweight, etc. I do what I do, 'cause that’s what I like and I’m my own boss for these solo albums and therefore, also the only one to take responsibility if it doesn’t live up to people's expectations. But, this is what I wanna do at this stage of my life and I think I’m convinced that “Make It Count“ is a great melodic rock album and I hope the fans won’t be disappointed." As to the lyrical themes on the album, Ronnie says, "The lyrics are always the hardest part of an album from my perspective!! It’s way easier for me to write a song than a lyric, to be honest. But of course it varies. Sometimes you already have the title and the topic when you’re writing the song and at other times you’re just out of ideas. This time, it was tough at times since my health issues are somehow in my subconsciousness 24/7. No matter what I do, I’m being confronted with it everyday one way or the other. So, some of the songs are touching on this issue of course, can’t help it. That said, I’m also trying to give it a positive twist, meaning that we just have to get the best out of life and love the one we’re with while we’re here. It’s just impossible to write about sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll or whatever living with a life threatening disease and a dagger hangin' above your head!!! Or it is for me, at least! So, bottom line, I guess the lyrical content on this album is partly about the aforementioned topics, the climate, and in general, topics that make sense to everyone without being political." Since the start of his rock 'n roll journey with Pretty Maids, Ronnie Atkins has consistently gifted fans with quality, melodic rock and "Make It Count" delivers again in spades.
