Are Katra the new Nightwish? Judge for yourself. The first release sung in english and quite good gothic metal it is too. Check out the 1 min samples here (then click discography). Released yesterday here in Finland. Rest of Europe 1.9. and the US/Canada 9.9.

My faves are Frontiers, MTM (R.I.P.), Kivel, the excellent Long Island and the aforementioned Atlantic. AOR Heaven releases are quite good too (certain genres). Adding Escape Music to the list too, I'm suprised no one mention them. Based partially on the now defunct Long Island Records, Escape Music's reissues (in particular) are a joy to the ear and a pleasure for the eyes. I'm talkin' 'bout the double/triple cds with bonus tracks and excellent digipack packaging. Z Records are worth a mention but I can't stand the politics surrounding the label. Thumbs up also for Rock Candy and Wounded Bird for bringing us those reissues.

Great stuff indeed! I was thinking exactly the same thing. I like it alot. So much that I went to Egay and bought the "Balls Of Fury" & "The Hills Have Eyes 2" soundtracks right after I listed to the band. The song "The Hills Have Eyes" rocks! Thanks Dave for the tip!

This is a new project put together by Janne Hurme (Human Temple), Marko Pukkila (Altaria) & Jani Liimatainen (Sonata Arctica) and pretty decent AOR it is. The accent in Hurme's voice still bothers a little bit though. Listen!
