  6. From http://BANNED WEBSITE.blogspot.com/2014/06/DEAD-END-HEROES-RoadKill-2014-Whitesnake-Europe-Foreigner-Deep-Purple-Doug-Aldritch-Doogie-White.html For the end of the first half of the year German label AOR Heaven are unleashing two great albums for all Melodic Hard Rock enthusiasts to enjoy; one of them is DEAD END HEROES debut "RoadKill". It’s hard to believe that Dead End Heroes merely started out as a bunch of instrumental songs laid down by Swiss drummer Daniel Voegeli. It seems that so impressed was guitarist / producer Rolf Munkes by the talent of the sticksman, however, that he suggested forming an actual band around these tracks. And so was born Dead End Heroes, with Voegeli and Munkes being joined by German vocalist Carsten 'Lizard' Schulz (LaValle), Scottish bassist Paul Logue – best known for his work with Eden’s Curse – and keyboardist / Hammond organist Holger Seeger. As debut albums go, "RoadKill" is right up there with some of 2014’s best releases. The album swings into fashion with the pumping title track which gets things started with a great hard rocking vibe that doesn’t let up for all 11 songs. All players involved are top notch musicians and all help to create some very catchy, hook driven melodic Euro-styled hard rock music. I hear elements of Whitesnake (1987) and Europe / Kee Marcello, but don’t expect a clone of either as Dead End Heroes definitely put their own spin on things and keep it fresh and vibrant all aver the record. The song with the same name as the band, "Dead End Heroes", is a harder stomper with a backbone of pulverising drums and scorching leads, it’s bare bones hard rock bolstered by Schulz’s sleazy vocal rasp. Hell, this guy has a serious set of pipes that run amok here; effortlessly they blow the speakers as the guitars and bass work in cohorts to bring the levels of intensity to boiling point. Guitarist & producer Ralph Munkes (Doogie White & La Paz) really shines on the record with some incredible lead work. If David Coverdale takes a listen to his lead work on my favorite track of the album, "Stormfront", he may very well take recently departed Doug Aldritch’s place! Keyboard player Holger Seeger also tears it up here with superb, classic-styled keyboard solo, while his Hammond playing on many numbers on the CD really adds a lot to the songs. Nothing beats a debut album that boasts self-assurance by the bucket-load, and "RoadKill" just oozes class from beginning to end. Dead End Heroes have recorded a superb classic Melodic Hard Rock record that exude a real mean streak and never comes to uninvited subtlety, despite the technical prowess of the musicians involved. I truly hope the band get the proper well-deserved push as they definitely impress with this debut. 11. From blabbermouth.net: A 95-second audio sample of the song "Divine" from SWEET/LYNCH — the new band featuring guitarist/vocalist Michael Sweet of Christian hard rockers STRYPER, legendary guitarist George Lynch (T&N, DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB), bassist James Lomenzo (MEGADETH, WHITE LION, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY) and drummer Brian Tichy (S.U.N., WHITESNAKE) — can be streamed using the audio player below. SWEET/LYNCH's debut album will be released in early 2015 via Frontiers. The band's first lyric video for the song "September" — a tribute to the victims of the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York — will be made available on September 11. SWEET/LYNCH has just finished filming two videos and an EPK (Electronic Press Kit). Sweet told Guitar International about SWEET/LYNCH: "It was the brainchild of Serafino Perugino at Frontiers Records. He asked me to basically sing on this record and then I suggested producing it. I co-wrote the songs with George. I called Brian Tichy and James Lomenzo to put the band together. It's an incredible combination of classic '70s and '80s. You will hear some flavors of JOURNEY, BAD COMPANY, DOKKEN, VAN HALEN and STRYPER." He added: "I love this CD. I'm super excited for people to hear this CD. I'm so proud of it. "James and Brian are amazing musicians. They tore it up. The drums and bass are just as impressive as the guitars. Everybody really delivered… The musicianship level on this is top notch. It sounds as if we were all in the stuff playing together and we were not. Basically, George wrote some riffs about a minute to a minute and a half long. I wrote lyrics and melodies then arranged them. I cut and pasted them together in the studio. Then Brian and James came out and tracked the drums and bass, as well as some rhythm stuff. We then sent it to George to add the guitars." Asked if there will be any live dates in support of the album, Sweet said: "We are one million percent sure there will be a tour." 12. From Cherry Red Records: Black State Highway are a five-piece, multi-national, female-fronted hard rock band on a mission! Equal parts filthy blues riffs, monster rhythm and raw, but melodic hooks, these young guns have set a determined foot on the road to rock glory. Formed at Brighton’s Institute of Modern Music, the band includes Latvian singer Liva Steinberga (22), aided and abetted by guitarist Olie Trethewey (23), bassist Gordon Duncan (23), Jon Crampton (24) and drummer Harry Bland (22). The band have been honing their skills around London's gig circuit, tearing up venues like O2 Academy Islington, Big Red and the Intrepid Fox. Within the grooves of this self-titled debut you’ll hear shreds of their rock heroes; everything from AC/DC to Rage Against the Machine and Led Zeppelin… but it’s their bone crunching riffs and bottle shattering vocals that set them apart from the rest of the pack. With a respectful nod at the musical pedigree that influenced them, the band stamp their own authority on the scene by stepping outside the boundaries of mere classic rock traditions with their own original brand of heavy riff-based rock, evident on tracks like ‘Conclusion’, ‘Tekkers’ and the single ‘Ain’t Got Know’. http://www.blackstatehighway.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/blackstatehighway Tracklist: 1.
