  1. Hammer and Nail *There's a Blackie Lawless sighting in this vid... Kind of 😋
  2. Trial by Fire While the two tracks released so far are decent, they're not in the same league as "Firepower"...
  3. Well shit, I like it. Waaaaaaay better than expected 👍

  5. Looks like February 16, 2024 is the new release date for “Against the Winds”
  6. I would definitely recommend checking it out on Spotify, Amazon, whatever your preferred streamer is before buying. It's nowhere near the first two albums, just streets ahead of their recent output.
  7. Definitely the best thing released under the Lynch Mob moniker since the first two excellent discs (well, except for maybe ReVolution, but those were re-works/re-records). I actually think vocalist Gabriel Colon's voice fits the songs perfectly. Don't get me wrong, it ain't great, but it's infinitely more listenable than previous efforts over the last 25 years.
  8. Hmm, Denny never did release "Abusement Park"; instead, he released a 4 song EP titled "Light in the Dark" earlier this year featuring the two songs above ...
  9. Tommy J - Murder in the Skies #coversthatdontsuck Time for another Gary Moore song - ”Murder in the skies” This time I have the one, the only, the most bearded - Chris Davidsson with me on lead bass and lead vocals. FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS 100% TRUE!! I knew before, but I forgot that the plane crash Gary Moore sings about in this song happened on the 1st of September 1983. Evidently so……this means (by 100% incredible coincidence) that this cover is released on the 40th anniversary of that horrible crash that this songs is about. On the same day - 40 years later. How is that even possible? Hope you will enjoy our tribute to Gary Moore, played on Gary Moore’s old guitar that he used between 1986-1989. Thanks to Chris Davidsson for joining in on this one! Don’t forget to check him out on his Youtube channel: / @chrisdavidofficial ”Murder in the skies” Written by: Gary Moore & Neil Carter Originally performed by Gary Moore From the album ”Victims of the future” - 1984
  10. As a longtime Dokken fanboy, I've tried not to let my thoughts be overly colored by "nostalgia goggles", but I must say, particularly with my highly tempered expectations, I'm thrilled with what Don and company have achieved here. I think for now, as opposed to a full-scale review, I'll give some observations and opinions... The three "singles" are all good, mid tempo rockers, which I feel were probably picked because Don feels he has a better chance of pulling them off live (he's said he wants to incorporate 2-3 new songs into their setlist). With that said, they're not the strongest tracks on the album. The 4 track run of "Is It Me or You?", "Just Like a Rose", the ballad "I'll Never Give Up", and "Saving Grace" is my favorite part of the album by far. I thoroughly enjoy all these songs, especially "Saving Grace". "I Remember" is a favorite as well. The last two tracks kinda lose me. I just don't care for "Lost in You", and while "Sante Fe" doesn't suck (I actually really enjoy the story it tells), it's more akin to something you'd hear on Don's "Solitary" solo release. Coincidentally, it's also the only track where Don is credited as having written it by himself as opposed to the rest of the album, which was written by Don and Jon Levin together. Just as I expected, Jon Levin is who really shines here. He's an excellent guitarist, and has carried on with the Dokken guitar sound that George Lynch established perfectly. Also, he's actually been in the band longer than George was at this point. Even though I knew ahead of time that Don's vocals would be "enhanced" in the studio, they're still quite a bit better than I expected. He sounds fine here, and works within his limits (which he is very aware of). The "Heaven Comes Down" cover artwork is credited to bassist Chris McCarvill, with 2 others credited with "additional artwork". Previous release "The Lost Songs: 1978-1981" credits Tokyo Hiro ( Facebook ) with the cover art. "Heaven Comes Down" features probably the most diverse lyrics of Don's career. As he's said himself, alot of his songs reference love lost, love found, and love lost & found, but he branches out quite a bit here. In my opinion, if this does turn out to be Dokken's final album, it's a stronger, more fitting exit than 2012's "Broken Bones" would have been. All in all, I'm very happy with this one, and you'll be seeing me discuss it more in the not too distant future. *I guess that was pretty close to a review....
  11. Agreed. I think the "Gimme Blood" track in particular showed great promise. I wish Mick would just say exactly who it was who "mucked it up" for the Mars/Corabi project. It seems like it might be whoever was producing the affair, as he then immediately mentioned finding Michael Wagener.
  12. MICK MARS Explains Why Songs He Recorded With JOHN CORABI Didn't Make His Solo Album During an appearance on yesterday's (Tuesday, October 31) episode of SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk", MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars was asked why the songs he recorded back in 2016 with former MÖTLEY CRÜE singer John Corabi are not included on his upcoming debut solo album, "The Other Side Of Mars". Mick said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I felt the songs were just a little — not strong enough. And there is a certain person that kind of interfered with that. And I'm not gonna say his name, but he kind of like messed some things up. The songs were wrong, parts in there that shouldn't be there and blah blah blah. It isn't a long story, but it was kind of like, 'That ain't gonna fly.' So I shelved it." Asked by host Eddie Trunk to clarify that it was a third party who was involved in the project — not Corabi — who "kind of mucked it up," Mick said: "[I was] kind of duped — that's all I have to say — by a third party. And that's it. That's all. I got rid of him and went on and searched for other people. I mean, look, I found [producer] Michael Wagener after a while. He lives just down the street." Back in 2016, Mars released snippets of two solo songs, apparently called "Gimme Blood" and "Shake The Cage". The tracks, which were recorded at Blackbird Studio in Nashville, where Mars has lived for about a decade, featured Corabi, who appeared on CRÜE's 1994 self-titled album. Corabilater said that he didn't contribute to the writing process for the two songs, but that he was open to collaborating with Mars on some brand new material. During a December 2021 Facebook Livesession, Corabi was asked about the fate of the material he recorded with Mars. He responded: "A couple of years ago, Mick asked me to sing a couple of songs, and I did it. He put snippets of them out, but he's gone on to do a full record. And as of right now, I have no idea whether or not Mick is using those songs. It's Mick's solo record. He just asked me to sing two tunes. Unfortunately… I wanted to do more, and Mick wanted me to do more, but I wasn't able to, because of my schedule and because of Mick's schedule. So we'll all just have to wait and see. I'm as excited to hear Mick's record as you are. And we'll see. Hopefully he used those songs. Maybe he didn't. I don't know." Birmingham, Alabama rocker Jacob Bunton collaborated extensively with Mars on "The Other Side Of Mars", which will arrive on February 23, 2024 via Mick's own label 1313, LLC, in partnership with MRI. Bunton had previously collaborated with former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler and CINDERELLA frontman Tom Keifer, and has songwriting credits with Mariah Carey, Steven Tyler and Smokey Robinson, among others. Bunton sings lead on all but two of the 12 songs on "The Other Side Of Mars". Other guests on the LP include WINGER/ALICE COOPER keyboardist Paul Taylor, KORN drummer Ray Luzier, and Brion Gamboa, who handled lead vocals on the songs "Undone" and "Killing Breed". Bunton previously fronted the Alabama bands MARS ELECTRIC and LYNAM.
  13. Musicians on the upcoming album include Winger and former Alice Cooper keyboardist Paul Taylor, vocalist Jacob Bunton, Korn drummer Ray Luzier and bassist Chris Collier, while singer Brion Gamboa contributes to two tracks (Undone & Killing Breed).

  16. Way too fucking young. Hopefully his past demons didn’t play a role in this.
  17. A statement from the Riley family: We are devastated to share that Steve Riley has passed away at the age of 67. Steve had been battling a severe case of pneumonia for several weeks, and on Tuesday, Oct. 24, succumbed to the illness. His wife Mary Louise and son Cole were by his side in his final moments. Steve spent the past five decades building up a rich music legacy, touring the world countless times, selling millions of records, sharing the stage with incredible bandmates and bringing joy to fans across the globe. His style was unmatched, influenced by the greats like Buddy Rich, Ginger Baker and John Bonham, and his passion for the craft was evident until the very end. But Steve’s greatest legacy was his role as a loving husband and caring father. At home, he was more than just a rocker — he was a Boston sports fanatic, a World War II buff and an avid reader. As much as he loved being on the road, nothing brought him more joy than coming home to his family. Steve is survived by his wife and son, as well as his brothers Michael and Daniel.
  18. Entire album is up on YouTube now: I haven’t had a chance to listen to all the tracks , but this one has really got my attention… loving it!
