  1. I don't know man, I'm hearing "signature sound", that's what I'm hearing... Yeah, and that signature sound is "MEOW...herrrp."
  2. Posting 25,000 times may not be as big an achievement as say...having a life. But hey, as long as you're happy! (Just how close to the toilet is your laptop, anyway?)
  3. Rock on with your junky self! Have a great day!!
  4. Any time! That's what friends are for. My sunshine blower is primed and ready for action. Besides, Pitt's on the way to ring #7 next year! Now I need a pick-me-up. (Damn Dawgs.)
  5. I guess I'd add that I don't dislike it at all, crikey. Just think it's an 8/10 disc rather than the 10/10 disc that everyone else thinks it is. A few great songs short of being a classic IMO, & the songwriting isn't quite up to the par of the musicians involved, but I do like it. 100% backed.
  6. Although I'm a big DC Comics fan, I hated the treatment of Batman done in the Keaton/Kilmer/Clooney movies. Buffoonish and stupid...Batman Returns and Dark Knight were great, but on balance, the Batman movies are so/so. And I like Superman (the character), but making him a deadbeat dad is the most asinine plot device in the history of film. What's next? A movie about Captain Marvel molesting livestock? So I voted for Spiderman because the plots were all pretty compelling and the films were faithful to the spirit of the comic and characters. And because Iron Man hadn't come out before this poll was put up... I'm really looking forward to Watchmen as it was one of my favorite GNs. Hopefully, they don't screw it up. (And it would be REALLY cool if someone could turn Crisis On Infinite Earths into a film or mini-series. Now that would be awesome.)
  7. Rock on with your birthday self! Have a good one!
  8. Sealed or unsealed.......get rid of it quick Wow is it really that bad? IMO it is but give it a spin and see what you think Yes it's heavier and darker and even grungier but damn I still love it. I like it as well! It is different than the classic Kiss sound, but not everyone has the same musical taste. Although Carnival of Souls was treated as an afterthought once the reunion was announced (as evidenced by the crappy cover art), I came to really like this CD. The song Jungle by another band could have been a radio hit, and Childhood's End is a nice stretch lyrically for Gene never-met-a-cliche-I-didn't-like Simmons. Five cents please...
  9. Dude, why not pull an "Eddie Van Halen" and build your own? (First, do you have some bicycle tape?)
  10. I've never been a big fan of "prog rock," and have an ongoing argument with a friend of mine who is a huge fan that it is neither "progressive" nor "rock". However, if that's your cup of tea you could do worse than Marillion. And if you like Marillion, you might want to check out a band called Fayrewether.
  11. Now that's a game I can play!
  12. I've wanted to check out the Luke model but I can't seem to find it at any of the shops around town. Word of mouth on the guitar is excellent, though... Anyway, most (good) guitars are so distinctively different that it's hard to pick a "best" model or maker, I know that. But I was curious what some of the opinions would be on this poll. Personally, I think it's not only the model but the year and type of guitar you buy that matters most (as well as the amp!). I've played some Fender Strats that are too light and have no bite, but I own a Fender "Dan Smith" Strat from '81 that has nice heft and a searing growl that you can't find too much anymore. I also own a Gibson Les Paul Studio faded maple top that sounds better than most of the more expensive LPs I've tried out over the years. So, my personal experience with both of those companies is great. I realize this poll isn't definitive, but I just wondered where other players might be coming from and see if I could glean any interesting insights into some of these axes...
  13. May those who love us, love us. And those who hate us, may God turn their hearts. And if he doesn't turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles so we'll know them by their limping. -Irish proverb (I hope your funk clears soon. Hang in there, man.)
  14. I didn't list Epiphone for the same reason. but you listed Jackson AND Fender Well, yes...of course. You see, I was just testing you. To see if you knew that Fender had bought Jackson. I mean, what kind of moron wouldn' know that? Seriously! (Man, I'm stupid.)
  15. I didn't list Epiphone for the same reason.
  16. This poll is really taking off! (Non-players are encouraged to vote based on looks and sound.)
  17. Which guitar manufacturer makes the best electric guitars?
