From Ny, Nj, Ma, Sd, Il, Uk, Ri etc etc etc. Shirts come in white or black. JK
  2. Thanks. But I think it doesnt compare to what jeff and his fella service men n woman do. So its the least we could do :-)
  3. Your very right Jeff!! The Firehouse guys a super cool bunch of nice guys. I never had such a smoother show/production working with a band before. It was a pleasure! When i approached them with this idea/surprise for Jeff Hansen they were all for it with no problem whatsoever. Wish you guys could have seen the look on Jeffs face when they pulled him up on stage. LOL. GOOD TIMES!!
  4. You and me both Wes. That new FarCry shirt looks friggin' cool as hell! Looking forward to these showing up in the mail any day now. Thanks Rick. Yours and Wes both shipped yesterday So you guys should have them by the weekend. JK
  5. KIVEL RECORDS AND FIREHOUSE SHOWS APPRECIATION FOR MILITARY AT SHOW: When planning a show/concert you have certain things that need to be dealt with. Fulfilling the requirements of the bands rider. Making sure the proper back line is in place, organize arrival times and ground transport. Sound check, hospitality, promotion. The list just goes on. This past Friday, what made Firehouse appearance in western MA a lil more special was due to something that wasn't a part of the typical show details. In the crowd was a special concert goer. Jeffery Hansen, who along with his wife. Drove all the way from Ohio to Western Ma, to see Firehouse and Farcry. Jeff Hansen is a big supporter of this scene, its bands and this very site. This show was a send-off of sorts. As two days later he would be shipping off to Afghanistan for a 1 year tour. What we wanted to do was make sure that this show/night was a night for him to remember. Guest list/VIP treatment...Check! Dinner...Check! Front Row...Check! Shout out from a crowd of strangers showing their appreciation for Jeff...Check! That it? No...How about Firehouse pulling Jeff up on stage and giving him a signed Ibanez guitar? YES!!! When we asked Firehouse if they would be willing to agree to this. They were more than happy to do it and went the extra mile making this definitely a night to remember for Jeff his Wife and everyone in attendance, again showing that they are some of the nicest bunch of guys in the biz. Bill Leverty - "I thought it was extremely cool of Kivel Records to give a guitar to Jeff Hansen, and it was my pleasure and privilege to sign it." Bill Leverty even handed over his own guitar, and asked Jeff to jam on stage with it. Unplanned, unexpected, however very much appreciated with a side of cool factor being that of a level 10! In Jeff's own words: "This was one of the best nights of my life! They are a great bunch of guys and rock just as hard now as they did when they came out in 1990! I was shocked when John Kivel handed me the guitar....too cool for words!" Thanks to CJ, Bill, Michael, Allen and Tour Manager Mark Peterson for helping all of us show our appreciation to Jeff Hansen. From all of us, Come home Safe Jeff and thank you to yourself and all your fellow men and woman of the US Armed Forces. See you at the next show... John Kivel
  6. Hello Rocker! Thanks for coming to the show. I hope you enjoyed yourself and hope to see you again at one of my shows/productions. Did we meet/talk by chance? Were you the one with the HIGH GEAR shirt up front ? Im sorry to hear you dont enjoy Mike in the main vocal spot. I agree Mark will be missed. However, we all must move fwd. I can see how some may be hesitant as Mark and Mike have somewhat differant vocal styles. With that said, Mike IS a monster singer in his own right and we promise he will sound great on the next album. Sometimes it takes some people a lil longer to warm up to change. Thank you John
  7. I can shed light on this release for you guys. STONE ANGEL was a band i was freinds with back in the day. When i started the label. They were one of the first 4 bands i released on the label. In fact they were my very first release!! LOL. That cd was a labor of love among freinds. Releasing the old demos and give it a lil fanfare. They were a GREAT band live. Koz could hit every note live and was not only a true vocal talent and frontman, but also one of the nicest guys you would ever meet. The lead guitarist was a G.I.T grad and could play the hell out of the guitar. The Label logo with the K in the circle was only on my first two releases. The logo didnt change til our 5th release. Titles 3 and 4 didnt have a logo. LOL. Dont ask....i have no idea why. LOL. The cd btw has a cd interactive fetaure with band pics, bios and a video for the song IMAGINE US. I wont lie the production is what it is. However there are some really good songs on that disk. It is looooong out of print and if you can find it, i do recomend it. If you like bands like Triumph. Then i think you will enjoy Stone Angel. Take Care JK

  10. Chasing Magic hails from the Midwest of the good ol USA, where they deliver their own special blend of Melodic Rock. The band's self-titled debut CD is due August 16th, 2011 via Kivel Records. What the band offers is a set of tunes that will showcase soaring anthemic choruses, melodic guitar work, and hooks upon hooks. This is a band that is unapologetic for the style they play and wear their influences on their sleeve. With a sound reminiscent of such bands as Night Ranger, Winger, and Giant. Although a new band to the scene, Chasing Magic's frontman is not completely an unknown. Since 2007 Jason Pawlak has helped pen and contribute tunes for some of his fellow contemporaries: musical acts such as Goodbye Thrill, Tango Down and Farcry. Now it is time for Jace to show he can command a band and album of his own and not just be a behind the scenes guy. This album was a labor of love for Jace, and has been a long time coming. On it you will hear his unique blend of vocal melodies and guitar work that will leave you wanting more by the end of the album. Rob Evans - Powerplay Magazine: "Jason Pawlak is one of the most underrated singer/songwriters in the world of AOR at this current moment." Anyone that has been in a band will express how being in a band is sometimes like a family, well Chasing Magic is just that! Jace is joined by Dennis Pawlak (guitars, bass, vocals) and Trevor Pawlak (guitars, vocals), making this power trio. Not just a band playing music, but a family that is Chasing Magic!!! So pop in the album, close your eyes, turn up the volume and Enjoy!” Chasing Magic is due August 16th. Pre-order your copy now @ www.kivelrecords.com.
  11. Hard to pick just one, but I can't get FREE out of my head (Not that I want to). Great song
  12. Im curious as well. :-) A copy of the new disk was sent out to him the other day. So it will take a week im guessing to get down under. Thanks for the kind words on the new cd. Everyone involved did a great job. We are all very proud of the final results. For the record, the first album, "High Gear" was also sent to Andrew. John
  13. I was reading as more of maybe an EP not a special edition re-release but I could be wrong. I'd rather a specially priced EP(2 new songs and maybe 4-5 songs from Optimism with Mike's vocals and maybe a cover tune) than another Reckless Love type "Cool Edition". agree, an EP will be very nice, 2 new songs, 2 rarities from High Gear session maybe, new songs with Mike vocals will be awesome, Def Leppard cover will also be good (if i'm not mistaken, Pete is also in a DL cover band?), or acoustic renditions maybe ? Hello!:-) The bands new vocalist is the one in the DEF LEP tribute band, Adrenalize. A lil side note some of you may find interesting is, that Sean Tarr of the band TNA, who released two albums on Kivel Records is one of the guitarist in the band. Now to answer some of the other questions here.... the next release will not be a EP. It wil be a full on cd AND dvd combo. Just like the GOODBYE THRILL Keepsakes release. This will be a collection of acoustic reworkings, live tracks, a cover and a few unreleased tunes. One of which will be a duet with a popular vocalist from the genre. All will be revealed in time :-) The dvd portion will contain footage of the band from Ma, Ny, Nj, Sd and Il. This footage will consist of, in the studio, backstage, candid and clips from South Dakota Rock Fest. Most of all, the bands entire performance from Melodicrockfest in Elgin Illinois. Which was a multi camera HD camera shoot of the show. This will close the book on the bands first chapter, before we move on to new horizons with Mike Ledesma. Expect a fall release now keep the feedback coming on the new FARCRY cd. We want to hear your thoughts Thank You John Sounds great John looking forward to both the cd and dvd. Would the guest vocalist be David Reece? Steve Newman? I know you're not gonna tell me but I'll guess anyway. NOPE :-) Not telling either.... Michael Eden? Nope Ted Poley? NOPE....and stop asking!! LOL. Im not going to tell even if you get it. LOL. I will say this though. i promise it isnt any of the ones you asked already. The duet will be between Mark and this person on a great rocker of a tune by a well known band. Its a cover no one has really done. It was this close to making the new FARCRY cd. I can promise you that it willl be worth the wait :-) There will also be one unreleased new tune that was also left off the new album. So you will get a NEW tune, a cover, some acoustic reworkings from both albums and a few LIVE in concert cuts. Plus the dvd. :-) John

  23. There are plans in motion for a Japanese version. However, there will more then likely be no bonus tracks. However, i can say this....there were two tracks recorded that were left off the new album. We have a special plan for these two tracks that will be revealed in due time. I can say this....one of the songs will be a duet with a popular vocalist. Not saying anymore then that. But expect some surprises from FARCRY before the end of the year. John
