Debut album 'Portraits' out May 31.

From Art Of Melody Music / Burning Minds Music Group:

The band was founded a decade ago under the name ”Alex Mari & The Lovers”, with the aim of writing original material. Meanwhile, in order to create good chemistry between the members, the group began playing together on several live shows, performing cover songs of legendary international artists just like Queen, Toto, Police and AC/DC.

After few line-up changes, the band was finalized with three members: Alex Mari  (Michele Luppi Band, Barock Project, Ophiura, plus guest appearances as studio backing vocalist with Rhapsody of Fire) on vocals, Gianluca Pisana on drums and backing vocals, and Sebastiano Barbirato on guitar and backing vocals. For their debut album, they established their new identity with the name, Night Pleasure Hotel.

The first studio chapter of this very promising trio offers a perfect slice of classic American AOR, reminiscent of Survivor (Bickler era), Foreigner, Prism and Toto. The album features contributions from talented special guest stars –  Michele Luppi (Whitesnake), Luca Zabbini (Barock Project, PFM), Paolo Caridi (Ellefson-Soto, Reb Beach, Geoff Tate, Krell), Gianluca Tagliavini (PFM), Roberto Galli (Michele Luppi’s Heaven, Danger Zone, Wheels Of Fire) and Iarin Munari (Red Canzian, Roberto Vecchioni, Paolo Vallesi).

Night Pleasure Hotel are sure to become one of the best newcomers of the current melodic rock scene, thanks to their infectious sound, mixed and mastered by Roberto Priori (Danger Zone, Wheels Of Fire, Raintimes, StreetLore).

The release of ”Portraits” is scheduled for May 31, 2024 via Art Of Melody Music / Burning Minds Music Group. The CD booklet features introductory liner notes written by Samuele Mannini (Melodicrock.it), while cover art and CD graphics have been developed by Aeglos Art (Wheels Of Fire, Platens, StreetLore, Raintimes, Room Experience, Nightblaze).

The first single of the album, ”Just This Once”, will be launched with an official video on March 28, 2024.

Not so sure about a band called "Night Pleasure Hotel" having a child on their album cover. Good grief.

Sadly, I can't say anything if you hear a heavy accent, but instead, I can confirm the band collaborated with a British novelist/songwriter to deliver quality lyrics.

And yes, that's Michele Luppi! :)

I know everything is happening too fast
Without reason, without thinking 'bout the consequences.
You're my secret desire, you know you are
No one has to know.
I can't wait, I want you once again
Before this guilty moon fades away
Just this once I feel your touch,
I can hear you Just this once
Sweaty skin and hot lips over me
Words and breath,
A moment made of sex and you.
Secretly just this once
I know we are walking on the wrong way
But instinct now is stronger and it kills our consciousness
Don't talk to anyone about our secret.
No one has to know.
I can't wait,
I want you once again
Before this guilty moon fades away
Just this once I feel your touch,
I can hear you
Just this once
Sweaty skin and hot lips over me
Words and breath,
A moment made of sex and you.
Secretly just this once
Feeling your touch and your lips,
Tasting every part of you,
With no remorse under a guilty moon - I can't wait I can't wait, I want you once again
Before this guilty moon fades away
Just this once I feel your touch,
I can hear you
Just this once
Sweaty skin and hot lips over me
Words and breath,
A moment made of sex and you.
Secretly just this once,
Your lips just this once,
Whispering words and your breath
Just this once.

They should ask that British novelist for their money back...

Just out of curiosity, what exactly is the problem?

Besides the fact the singer can barely pronounce half those words?

That it's shit.  What the fuck is a guilty moon?  A well renowned British novelist came up with "sweaty skin and hot lips, a moment of sex and you" over and over?  What do they write for their day job, soft porn for middle-aged Mum's to read before school pick up?

    • New song 'You Are The One'.
    • Hopefully he doesn't cancel on you... just sayin'...
    • I genuinely can't think of anyone more willing to give a band a go post line-up changes that I. Hence my post in that Lionville thread. I feel like I've mentioned this bit before too, but it's why I have three Cher albums in my collection too. I give not a toss about anything but, are the songs good or not? I just don't think there have been any good songs in the Gotthard, Great White or Warrant (not quite as guilty) camp for a long while. The only "Twisted Sister" album I kind of like is 'Love Is For Suckers.' Even then I wouldn't call it great, but it's my favourite of his/theirs by a long way.  Falling In Reverse would be a cool show. Far as I understand it, most hate for them/him comes directed at Ronnie himself (who is actually essentially the band anyway), as he's quite a polarising figure with strong political (and other) opinions. Of the last album, I believe his "woe is me, the whole world's out to get me" kind of delivery might have rubbed some the wrong way. 'Ronnie' is actually my favourite track off the album, but it's not my favourite FIR album at all, to be fair. I still prefer the (kind of tacky in hindsight) 'Alone' days, even though I've heard him slander that song, lol. But Ronnie's an interesting dude and I'm always interested in anything he releases.
    • There's something comforting and familiar when I hear his voice.
    • Firstly, boom boom is an average song. I love a lot of post Steve stuff, and just like someone like Randy Rhodes, band members who die early and suddenly will always be seen in an ever glowing untouchable light. Dee was clearly the creative force behind TS and what I consider their best song was their last. Heroes Are Hard To Find ticks every box a song needs to tick. Don't care that none of the rest of the band played on it, although I think Joey did from memory. People will come out and say Warrant or Great White were shit after losing their singers, but I reckon mostly this is because comparisons and being made and expectations are not met.J ust think of them as a new band and enjoy great music. Just got Falling In Reverse tickets. Not sure why there's hate for them, they have killer and diverse songs. Personally don't like the song Ronnie, and I'm no die hard fan, having jumped on the bandwagon after hearing Zombified for the first time. Interestingly my son, daughter and wife are coming to the show, and my wife's style of music is crowded house and Madonna etc but she heard their stuff a bit and started to love it as well. I think it will be a pretty good show as well. Black Veil Brides supporting (yay) as well as Hollywood Undead, who I don't know at all.
    • I love the three songs so far. The first verse with the low vocals and the bass guitar is perfect.
    • Still keen to hear a new album, but going through a little "patch" with Crazy Lixx. The songs from the last album (of re-works, admittedly) haven't been hitting the spot for me at all when they come up on my 2024 playlist. But 'Little Miss Dangerous' is pretty nice.
    • Wow, 15 years since Toxic Heart. This song kind of brings me back to where I was with them. It's good solid hard rock, but outside of that it does very little for me.
    • Yeah, I dunno. Not their finest hour, but not too bad. Don't love it, but definitely don't hate it either. It's okay.
    • Forgive me for not being up to speed on this. Are these re-workings of old songs, or are they new songs? Not my jam at all, to be fair, but I'm curious.
