From AFM Records:

He is one of the truest and most passionate Rock musicians of the last decades. And though time stood never still for Gotthard founding member and guitarist Leo Leoni. CoreLeoni he named his passion for big, timeless Classic Rock, for pure music nostalgy, added with a modern sound. On September 27th their second album „CoreLeoni II“ will be released.
Next to Gotthard songs from the early stage as well as two brand new tracks the album contains a cover of John Lee Hookers „Boom Boom Boom“.
Together with Rainbow-singer and Lords Of The Black founding member and ex-singer Ronnie Romero, Hena Habegger (drums, Gotthard), Jgor Gianola (guitar, ex-Gotthard/U.D.O./Jorn Lande) as well as Mila Merker (bass, Soulline) Leoni shows, that Classic Rock doesn ´t need to be old fashioned.
Leoni had the idea to found CoreLeoni when Gotthard were celebrating their 25th anniversary. „When we play shows, we nowadays have to leave out a lof of the old songs as there are so many new ones that have to find their place in the setlist“, Leo explains. „But especially a lot of the old songs really mean a lot to me and will always be a big part of me. That´s why I decided to record them again and bring them back into the current times, also sound-wise.“

Yeah I have both cd releases, I originally didn't want to buy the first release due to having the Gotthard cd's but upon hearing them I was convinced to give em a go...glad that I did...guy has some serious vocal chops on him and they are out Gottharding current Gotthard for me...but nice to see a release of all new material to see where they can take it because the two non Gotthard tracks the 11 release, which I take it are original material, are very good.

    • To be honest, it doesn't really concern me if he did or didn't. I put it out there are a kind of olive branch (ie: not everything is completely imaginary and made up) Not many lives were well documented 2000 years ago. Likelihood is that he existed, and had some small amount of notoriety. Was killed and became a Randy Rhodes or Jeff Buckley. A lot more famous after death than when alive. The bibles changed over the years, his exploits became more impressive and eventually  became a demi god. Ironically I love easter and Jesus stories. They make great stories
    • That's really not proven. Opinions split. On the balance of it there is a fair chance he existed but it cannot be proven definitively he did.  His life isn't well documented outside of the bible.  It's long but this is a good video on the topic.
    • I thank that may be partially due to his delivery style. He'll read part of a quote/sentence/article, make a pithy remark, lather rinse repeat. So it takes him a while to get through things and for the full point to come across. I think if he cut down his breaks by 50% it would be much more digestable. Still, as Lefties go, he's seemingly got more brain power and common sense than many...
    • New song 'Irreversible'. From Frontiers: 'Irreversible' is a new single from Norway's Big City. The track is from the recording sessions for their most recent studio album, "Testify X", which is out now. Fans of bands such as Firewind, Queensryche, Magnus Karlsson's Free Fall, Europe, Fair Warning, and the like should look forward to being introduced to this exciting band.
    • Yeah mate, that's definitely them through and through. Maybe slightly "ballsier" in recent years, but if you dig that you'll dig their gear.
    • I was meant to see Crazy Lixx too, and it turned into a massive fuck-around. They didn't end up coming to Australia after a massive failed festival event. I think they were still headed here, but it was right at the start of covid and I think that may have been a factor in them cancelling too. Pretty devastating at the time, but thankfully Reckless Love had more testicular fortitude and that was one of, if not my favourite (and as fate would have it, last) concert outing so far.
