Tornado's that created havoc Wednesday night

to put it into prespective, we live in the mountains of Virginia. years ago you NEVER heard about tornado threats. Now and again we get them but Wednesday night was crazy. the weather map was just covered in red and several tornado's hit around our area. here is just one video that was taken. don't know how good the video shows the damage but I guess we are going to have to get use to Tornado warnings even in the mountains now.

My family & I are in Chattanooga, TN & experienced this monster of a storm first hand. It was unlike anything this regions has EVER seen. An F4 tornado ripped Ringgold, GA apart, which is just 15 miles south of us. We bunkered down, said our prayers, & caught just the fringes of this storm. Yet that was still enough to destroy 3 houses in our neighhorbood, topple more trees than I could count, & shut off power at our house for 4 days. There are still thousands of people without power in our region. Please pray for all who were affected by this storm.

 

On a side note...does anybody know if it's safe to seek safety in a tunnel? I told my wife that if a storm like this ever comes our way again that we should haul ass to a tunnel that sits at the base of a ridge, probably 1/2 mile from our house. I've googled, but can't find any clear info on whether this is a good place to seek shelter or not.
