What The Hell Is Wrong With Service Providers?

The following are true stories that have taken place over the last couple of weeks.

 

 

:cussing: My Direct TV rant:

 

Ok, to start off, we have been thinking about changing our tv service from cable to Direct tv. We figured we would cancel cable and phone and keep internet service with our current provider and have Direct TV installed which would save us about $30 a month.

 

So I called Direct TV to make the switch. They told me that if I wanted high definition receivers I would need at least one HD TV. We were buying a new TV for the bedroom anyway so I asked if they could do the install before we had the HD TV. The girl checked with the service department and told me absolutely not. So I set the install date for the middle of April so I would have enough time to get the HD TV before they came to do the install.

 

A few days later I get a call from a Direct TV installer asking if he could do the install in a couple days (this was a couple weeks ago). I explained I hadn't gotten my HD TV yet so he wouldn't be able to. He then tells me that I did not need any HD TV's in order to do the install becuase the only recievers Direct TV uses now are HD so they would go on all the tv's with no problem. OK, well I told him that would be fine and took off Wednesday morning so I would be there when he came out. Of course he didn't show. He told me he would be there at 9am. I called at 1:30pm and he told me he had completely forgotten about the appointment. Then he rescheduled for Friday at 3pm. At 5pm I get a call saying he is running late and didn't get to my house until 5:30. Then, when he called the company to have my service turned on, they could find no record of my having even ordered service!!! Then, to top that off, I have gotten one or two calls A DAY asking if I want to do an early install. I keep telling them it's already installed. Then they call again the next day and the next day. So I call Direct TV and tell them my service has already been installed and to stop bothering me. The lady tells me her screen confirms my service is installed and has no idea why I keep getting these calls, but she will "make a note of it".

 

:cussing: My Cable Rant:

 

I finally had my Direct TV installed and figured I'd call to cancel my cable and phone. I spoke with the girl at the cable company who verified I wanted to KEEP internet service and CANCEL cable and phone service. She even told me I needed to drop the cable box off and told me what my new monthly bill would be for just internet service. So my wife went down to the cable company to drop off the cable box and when she gets there...they ask her why she was dropping the cable box off because their records showed I had canceled internet and phone and was KEEPING cable??!! So then my wife had to call me at work because the lady there needed to verify just exactly what I wanted to do. That was one week ago today. I was told the phone and cable would be shut off the next day. Guess what? Both are still on and working!

 

:cussing: My Student Loan Rant:

 

I have three student loans I'm paying off. Two small ones and one large on. We decided that I should pay off the two smaller loans with out tax return money this spring. I went down to the bank last Friday and explained what I wanted to do. They told me I needed to speak with a banker who could help me. The banker comes out and I explain what I needed. She became very bitchy to me and said I need to deal with the loan department about that. I asked where in town that was. She said they don't have a place in town, I can only deal with them on the phone. So she calls them up, gets the payoff amounts and sends me back to the teller to make the payment. The teller was unable to pull up my student loan accounts so just applies it to the general loan amount with a note explaining what needed to be done. She told me to check online on Monday to make sure it was applied correctly. I checked the loan on Monday and it was still pending. I checked it again today and it was still pending. So I called them. The guy I spoke with told me the payment was pending because they didn't know what to do with it. They hadn't received any note with the payment so it probably would have just sat there forever for all I know. He said would apply the amount to pay off ONLY the two small loans and not the large. So a little while ago I check my account and guess what?? He applied the amount to all three loans so the two small ones never got paid off!!!!!!! FUCK!!!!!!!! Now I have to call them again tomorrow and hope this shit gets straightened out yet again!

 

What In The Fuck Is Wrong With People??? I really don't think I am asking for impossible things here, am I???:doh:

Probably in the minority here but ive got Direct TV and i can't f**king stand it! The assholes will give you 50 shopping channels,30 religious channels,damn near a 100 news channels and skank-bag pay-per-view porno etc..etc...but where im at the bastards won't even give me my damn local channels.. :angry:

Probably in the minority here but ive got Direct TV and i can't f**king stand it! The assholes will give you 50 shopping channels,30 religious channels,damn near a 100 news channels and skank-bag pay-per-view porno etc..etc...but where im at the bastards won't even give me my damn local channels.. :angry:

skank-bag pay-per-view porno is exactly the reason I made the switch! :tumbsup:

 

Seriously, We do get the local channels here but my wife and I never really watch them anyway. But the cable company kept raising our rates every month and would cut 1 or 2 channels each time as well. Just got tired of that.

Yeah...i get ya.Couldn't stand cable either when i had it.
